Agreed and what about the witness that claims he saw JC with a large trunk on a trolly and dumped it in the canal at Brentford , I think on the 30th July 1986 and the fact that the police would allegedly not take him seriously and he was so adamant he went to JC's trial and confirmed to himself it was JC dumping the trunk in the canal ...but its been searched twice and nothing has been discovered...(thats the information that's out in the public domain.)
My memory's a bit fuzzy on this but I think it was investigated - but not until years later. I think the "witness" told a friend, who passed the info to the police. In any event, I think I read somewhere that the canal is fairly regularly dredged, and at the time of the report, the canal was dredged as part of another investigation.

Does anyone know if sjl tennis gear was found at her flat?
I haven't seen anything at all about Tennis gear - I don't think Tennis was ever going to happen that day , wouldn't she have had it ready? in her car or in the flat ? no mention of it and who was this tennis game allegedly with? - why didn't the tennis partner come forward ? I think maybe she had mentioned to DL the night before she might go but no evidence it was ever arranged .....

Yes I think it was DL who mentioned it in passing in a radio interview. I remember DV pouncing on it as "evidence" that sjl had a tennis game arranged therefore HAD to pick up her lost items from the POW at lunchtime.

The interview he did is on YouTube - He just said his investigation concluded she turned right out of Sturgis ......not left toward Whittingstall Rd where the Fiesta was parked by the colleague.

What's interesting is how did he find this out? - presumably the colleague in the Estate Agents saw that she had gone on the opposite direction to where the car was - but maybe there was an innocent explanation like she popped to a shop prior to going to the car . This further challenges the timeframe .....about her driving the car to Stevenage Rd ....the truth is she never drove it there ...someone else did

What's also interesting is that just yards away from the Estate Agents at this precise time, MG and a big Sturgis boss were dining in Crocodile Tears...and the Fiesta was allegedly parked in the Whittingstall Rd too 30 seconds from Crocodile Tears - what a lot was going on within 100 yards of Sturgis Fulham that day.

yes definately a lot going on there that day, too much for my liking. i do not think this avenue seemed to be any kind of priority as from leaving work no-one has a definate sighting of sjl

very odd that mg would say that if he did not witness it, and would not have witnessed that if he was where he said he was.

i keep going over things and mg was supposed to have said sjl was getting his sandwiches but he was in a meeting next door @ crocodile tears with one of the bosses , so why the sandwiches ???

when mg left sturgis office and went to 37 sr does anyone know who the member of staff who went with him was and why he needed another member of staff, this seems a bit extreme what was he expecting to find? was it a female member of staff??? i am sorry but this is madness mg phoned her mum at around 3pm was getting extremely worried and phoned a few hospitals!! really i hope someone does that for me if i am missing for a few hours, then go's to fulham police station but there was a queue of people and remembering an upcoming appointment left, i will say no more

AIUI the member of staff he took was the permanent secretary SF.
Of course this would mean she'd be able to corroborate his story.

If the notion is that the staff of Sturgis conspired against SJL in concert with the staff of the PoW, AL, the owner of 123SR and the owner of the garage, and that up to 3 Sturgis cars were involved, that's an astonishing bit of sleuthing.

I wonder if MG's sandwiches were ever accounted for? The police should have taken stool samples from everyone next day to check what they really ate for lunch that Monday.

Actually, maybe blood and seven samples too. If the boys were a bit busy for this, they could have just handed over their underpants.

WebSleuthing does cause us all to throw up various ideas of what could have happened on the 28th July 1986 .

But despite all the witnesses, saying what they saw and all the interviews and investigations . we still only know for sure that........

* SJL left Sturgis at 12.30-12.40 (but only if the information given to the police was correct by Sturgis staff)
* He car was parked in Whittingstall Rd ( but only if the Sturgis staff member was telling the truth)
* Her white fiesta was found in Stevenage Rd at 10.05pm (FACT - Police found it)
* BW her friend who new her witnessed her driving up FPR at 2.45pm (if she actually witnessed this but why would she make it up)

Whatever else happened that day ?

Suzy & The perpetrator know what happened that day.

No CCTV back in 1986 ....so the investigation is reliant on credible witnesses.

So. That could be the 2 people seen by the neighbour then so we can assume sjl never was there and went to 123 or the pow

And if the pow then that happened so quick as to get the car over to 123sr

And if the pow then that happened so quick as to get the car over to 123sr
That would explain why when dv went to meet the former pow staff member he was so edgy

I agree that BW is probably the most reliable witness, having known SJL well and feeling comfortable enough to wave at her in the car as per the witness statement. BW stated on the Crimewatch recon that she was sure it was SJL and actually 'saw her', which is why she couldnt describe the male passenger as her focuss was on SJL .

Also agree that this leaves 2hrs unexplained.

Also from the CW recon, it was stated iirc that (Paraphrase) 'Suzy left the office and, as was normal, no-one would know where she was going' ?!?

Im not sure if notable in any way but it did suprise me that SJL had only been working for Sturgis just over a year.

Lets look at the £3000 bonus SJL has talked about ...worth around £9000 today

was this ever mentioned or investigated?

Just supposing SJL was running a little sideline - sourcing properties and finding sellers for buyers / investors - its popular today - a finders fee or commission can be massive (we own a property management company) ...if you worked in an agency you could for example have generated your own private list of clients (investors) looking for properties , lets just say SJL was doing the odd side deal - she would get the commission in a private deal rather than the estate agent getting that commission - she would keep her list of clients private and do private viewings that her agent didn't know about .....
The perp could have posed as a private investor as she could have agreed to privately show him properties.........it's a thought

Agree, absolutely cannot fathom that as i cannot think of any job where you would walk out and no one would know where you are going for how long and when would be back with no clock in the office this just seems so off.
