I concur. The fact she only took her purse and not her handbag is important evidence ..as IMO it means she was only popping out for a few minutes...but as you quite rightly point out ...thats a matter of opinion ...but if she knew she was going driving in her car around the area and likely to be out of the office for an hour or 2 surely she would have taken her bag....
On that theory maybe sjl was just going to end something with the tennis mate, if there was one - hence no tennis date in the diary snd no need gor tennis gear, i wonder if sjl usually entered tennis dates in her diary?

Interesting new theory .....So the tennis partner murdered her? what would be the motive?

P

Well i guess it is just theoretical but dock at 6:30 ( no clue as to staff disembark say 7:30-8 ) transport to london ( again may have had a car parked up somewhere close(more likely), could have caught train and tube, 1-2 hours max, has time enough to do the deed just need to think it through, could have been the mr kipper phone call but used a bogus sturgis address far enough if anyone work related was nearby, may also have known no stevenage road viewing happening so good address to meet (wm could be wrong timing 12:45 - 2-45 still the 45 but 2 hours out on her recall, then that makes her seeing sjl driving up fulham palace road work and the dodgy driving seen by the van driver just before so sjl under duress but trying to keep sw happy, so that gives sw from say 1:00 until 2:30 to get sjl to drive somewhere nearby but quiet do yhe deed and leave yhe car back at 123 sr closes down the possible location but would have to look at sw’s later crimes to see the sort of locations left, all dependent on weather sw left the qe2, i onow it was checked to see if he left but hey he is a cunning multiple murderer i am sure he could have left the ship and got back on without too much effort.
i just do not know why he would have to put the car back at stevenage road ( unless that is where his car was)

How does anybody know the Tennis was real as nobody could collaborate it?

It seems more likely she fabricated the entire thing because her mum wanted her to do something. IMO

Good suggestion!
Anyway, she went missing hours before the alleged tennis appointment.

Yes maybe had the 6pm app @ waldemar & pow collection, so went to cancel the “supposed” tennis ?
It seems the tennis theory is just allowed to slip away without any check

I like this kind of thinking. I was thinking more that he included SL and 86 on the number plates, to remind himself how smart he was.

He must have spent a fair amount of cash having Shirley Banks' car resprayed and buying new number plates. I wonder where the crude respraying took place, and why he invested

Was the tennis club or tennis ever investigated? Ive seen no mention of it in books content or in any information about this case.
DL mentioned a possible tennis game after work in (I think) a radio broadcast. It was a remark made in passing, it seems. DV talks about it in his book and makes a big issue of it, despite there being no evidence of a partner, or any other arrangements made by sjl.

I think this is a possibility. From what I've read, the relationship between DL and sjl was not always easy, and I can imagine sjl inventing scenarios to appease her mother.

There seems to be more than one version of sjl - the one presented to the public domain by DL (and PL) and the "real" sjl we get a glimpse of in AS and DV's books.

The purse is interesting in that it wasn't a handbag. This means she hadn't the means to carry a hairbrush, lippy, mirror etc. Therefore this 12.45 meeting was not some sort of tryst that was masquerading as an appointment; if it were, she'd have titivated herself a bit in advance. Therefore this was an appointment.

The police clearly got that far, hence inferred that the 37SR meeting was real, and further noted that nobody came forward as or knew of any "Mr Kipper". So they needed to find him, and couldn't.

Despite the press chat at the time of the danger of attractive estate agents meeting random men and being harmed, this was never really a thing. Estate agents don't work that way (although other types of business do). So "Mr Kipper" has to have been somebody she already knew. If she had known him any length of time, she'd surely have his contact details written down somewhere. Yet it seems none have ever been found; or they were but the contact was never recognised to be Mr Kipper. Or, was this perhaps someone she had met no earlier than the previous week? So he's got her number but she hasn't yet troubled to get hold of his?
Yeah. There's a kind of irony too about setting up of a trust by DL that promotes the risks of this kind of work when, in the opinions of many people, sjl knew her attacker and went off willingly.

More reason to try to check it out then surely.

I think DL and to a lesser extent PL controlled the narrative from the moment they were told she was missing and directed / contaminated the police inquiry which was incompetent and not thorough IMO - sorry if this sounds disrespectful - but its true and why this case wasn't solved at the time JMO

I think he had a picture of the 2 of them together if I remember rightly

Totally agree - and the 2 versions of her are like chalk and cheese IMO - the real SJL had so much going on we will never know about and a lot to hide IMO and definitely secretive from her family especially DL....she had people leaning on her allegedly , possible deals and blackmail going on who knows then she was trying to also present the girl next door persona to family and friends

Potentially also something she wanted to escape from too - we may never know but was her life so tangled she had to leave it ?
