In the 80s Taggart impersonated a CID officer in a robbery in Fulham area. Reminiscent of the early phone call - before SL reported missing - about 2pm to POW.

Taggart claiming JC had Kipper nickname in hostel, used his car, he didn’t know what JC was convicted for & that he had contacted police with his JC suspicions years before.

IF accurately reported above & JC’s nickname in hostel ‘KIPPER’, the odds surely swing a lot towards JC.

It does make sense that, as chef, Taggart doling out Mackerel & JC asking for kippers, could plausibly have happened. Why would Taggart lie?

True but DV’s point a whole lot of assumption on top of assumption going on. He wasn’t shown a photo early on for any comparison. Also he saw an obvious blonde/fair woman

when it comes to assumptions DV comes up with nothing but assumptions, and in doing so, chooses to dismiss the original evidence in favour of his own theory, which is backed up by no evidence at all.

Everyone assumes it was them & yes that’s quite logical. DV is right though it was a presumption. The police wanted witnesses but did they eliminate everyone legitimately in the proximity that day? Showing properties or otherwise (?)

I don’t think anyone disputes HR saying what he saw through the window. The facts are he couldn’t & didn’t know if he saw SL. He didn’t see her face. Also her fairness & blondeness not stand out. Very subtle.

i agree to a point. i wish HR would have paid more attention to the couple that day, but there are other witnesses on shorrolds rd who get criticised because they came forward after a reconstruction. these people are missing the point. the whole idea of a reconstruction is to help jog peoples memory, who then remember what they seen after the reconstruction.

If we assume that is the sierra jc had use of we could assume someone he knew or taggart knew lived on or just off stevenage road, finlay ellerby or doneraille street. So it is possible sl is in one of the back gardens of that property.also the sierra is parked in a pretty empty street so the driver would have parked fairly close to the said property.can anyone say roughly where this is parked in the above picture

I know there is high probability of jc- taggart involvement but a question about the taxi driver i take it he saw sl car parked? Lived on that road not far from sl car? Said he picked up a fare who said 2 people having a big row? He seemed to be quite a big player in the days events

Excellent posts @Klclevi - in particular it’s interesting to see it mentioned that Suzy’s purse was in the glove compartment of her car, this is also where the Suzy Lamplugh Trust say it was found. And on HR, he says he glimpsed the couple outside 37SR for no more than 2-3 seconds, I knew it wasn’t a great look at them that he got but didn’t realise it was that short a time period. And through net curtains! He’s described as seeing ‘Susie’ but as we know now he never actually positively identified seeing her.

HR seen a couple outside 37SR for a few seconds, which is where SL arranged to meet the client, mr kipper. it had to have been them.

X1 taxi driver, a resident - saw SL fiesta & parked behind. No link to other driver & did not witness any person or argument.

X2 taxi driver, working his shift, saw a couple arguing - picked up ‘Galway’ passenger.

There’s a mugshot of him online and he’s not a bad ringer for Kipper, allowing for the passing of time and him having a goatee. Would be interesting to know what he was up to back in the ‘80s, can’t imagine the kidnap of the estate agent circa 1990 (when he’d have been late 40s) was his first offence.

He wasn’t shown a ‘picture’ & truthfully I think, on evidence we have, he didn’t get enough of a glimpse to identify her at all.

DCI carter is a lot more intelligent than DV. carter never says riglin said it was SL. carter uses his common sense and logic, which tells him it was probably SL and the client she arranged to meet outside 37SR, mr kipper. DV appears to undermine carter all the time criticising the original investigation, and not just this sighting. he says SL never took the keys to 37SR. as if a SIO like carter would be stupid enough to miss a key detail like this.

how do you know DCI carter and his team did not check out any other couples that might have been outside 37SR at around 1PM. of course they would have.

BBM. Even senior detectives are capable of making the most basic mistakes.

mr kipper got into a vehicle parked up close to stevenage rd, then back tracked to the place where he has lamplugh held captive. this place where he took her was probably outside fulham, but not that far away. 2 mile radius of fulham. ditching SL car on stevenage rd was clever because it keeps the investigation focused on fulham, but he has lamplugh held captive just outside fulham. mr kipper has slipped through the net taking SL with him, but we dont know where he took her.

If you read the AS book on SJL towards the end of the book the Detectives give their pet theories on what they suspect happened.

Suzy has met Mr Kipper outside 37.
He has somehow managed to persuade her to let him drive her car.
He duly adjusts the drivers seat and drives to Stevenage Road where he kills her.
He then transfers her into his car and drives away.

I think this "kipper" explanation makes far more sense than the Kipper Tie one. Sounds plausible, even if Taggart is telling porkies.
