i think he ditched the car later that day. SL was never on stevenage rd. mr kipper picked that spot to ditch SL car in advance. he knew sturgis were selling 123 stevenage rd, so ditched the car across the road from the large yellow sturgis for sale sign.
A. Question, who did wj go to the bank with? I am sure i read she was with a friend.

Ann Mahon, a neighbour. It was Mrs Mahon's husband who had the garage outside which the Fiesta was parked.

DV found WJ an unreliable witness.
Does anyone know if he had any opinion on Ann Mahon?

Not quite sure what the logistics were, or even whether WJ told AM at all - or merely thought it. I'm not even sure at what point WJ says the car was overlapping - she seems to have been pretty distracted that day - kids off school, dog needing to be walked and returning to the house,. She's anxious about coins being counted at the bank and notices the time on the clock there...not sure how clear it is at what point she noticed the car... Could easily be later in the afternoon - i think generally agreed that she saw a different car earlier, albeit a similar one perhaps. Plenty of similar cars about, including tons of Fiestas. . Mr Mahon returned later though and was able to drive into the garage despite car overlapping (by about 18 inches, iirc).

Just checked in Finding Suzy. WJ sets off with the kids and the puppy for a short walk, takes puppy back to the house before departing for the bank and it is then she claims she first noticed the car overlapping. She went to see Pinocchio, returned to the house at around 5 and the same car was there, still overlapping (says WJ).

WJ's 2nd sighting of the white car was around 3.30pm, when she returned home.

It was Mr Mahon who returned around 5pm.

I find it surprising that she was able to go and see Pinocchio, so it must have been a special daytime performance for the school holidays?

Pinocchio was briefly re-released in the cinema in late 1984/early 1985, but not 1986 AFAIK.

The movie runs at just under an hour and a half.

Both.

She mentioned she was expecting money on Saturday at the 21st. Presumably the police bottomed out this wasn’t via a regular, work commission.

DV discovered via NH she’d lost a commission & they had a ‘big argument’ (Finding Suzy. DV P.85). They both had buyers for the same property & MG chose NH & his buyer over SL’s. This was on the morning she went missing.

It would be good to know how much she effectively lost & which property it was re: the latter.

Fascinating.

Well, (speculatively) if that property turned out to be 123 Stevenage Road, then could this "argument" have been the catalyst for why SL's Buyer; Mr Kipper, ended up killing her? (allegedly)

And why she then felt compelled to then drive him around Fulham to search for another property?

Had the killer Mr Kipper then deliberately chose 123 Stevenage Road as the location to then go and dump his victim's car outside of?

As a threatening warning to MG and NH, for being effectively undercut by them on the sale of a property that Mr Kipper wanted.

Could that explain why MG appears to be hiding something when he speaks on camera, and why he was subsequently eager to move on by employing another member of staff to replace SL and seemingly dumbing down the fact that an employee of his had almost certainly just been murdered?

My instinct tells me that MG is more aware of some of the circumstances surrounding SL's disappearance that he ever let on.

Call it a hunch.

Here's part of the conversation, from DV Finding Suzy:

"When she'd returned from watching Pinocchio at the cinema with the children at around 5pm, she was certain that the car was in the same position".

Not agreeing or disagreeing with it, just quoting the conversation WJ has with DV.

I really don’t feel MG is/was in any way shady or withholding information. He was young & found himself in an extraordinary position. Everyone was totally shocked at the time.

These deals & MG deciding who should get each property were very common at time, as NH put it to DV “live by the sword, die by the sword”. I do agree it would be useful to know which property it was SL had lost out on. The man holding the champagne at Shorrolds - if accurate sighting - was perhaps looking to seal a private deal. Private, as they carefully ruled out everyone on Sturgis books.

What’s interesting for me is if SL’s anger & frustration at losing out was unusual (?) She’d lost expected, if not immediate, money. Money, I think she was in a hurry for, looking at evidence we have.

The money she mentioned on Sat night, she didn’t say how she expected to come by it, were there ‘strings’ (?) Just thinking about @Clairybums sighting & how it might tie up. It almost certainly wasn’t ‘regular’ via Sturgis. When she found out what the conditions were, did she bail? Did losing out to NH make her finally take a risk she’d been considering?

@Clairybums sighting may well be the most important & relevant development in this case for some time.

Iirc Sjl was not the contact for 123 SR. MG was.
