The problem with the police case against Cannan is that it has always pointed to suspicions of his guilt that are either outlandish ("I remember seeing Cannan looking in Sturgis' window 14 years ago"); knowingly untruthful (insinuations that he was the Birmingham house-for-sale rapist - who was, however, described by victims and nothing like him); or entirely unpersuasive ("The police are convinced Cannan had access to a BMW" - they were also convinced Jean Charles de Menezes was Asian and carrying a bomb).

If the case includes stuff that collapses in a nanosecond when studied, it makes a rational person sceptical of all of it, even if better-founded.
I think lorna sth murder may have been something to do with this crime also.

I would go for another estate agent company worker, as leaving sl car at a sturgis sign is like in a way distancing, maybe another property nearby selling by another company.
great point you make about other estate agent company. DSC jim dickie did say mr kipper had contacted other EA/company in SW london before SL went missing.

SL probably dropped her lost items outside the POW pub, but why use the pub phone outside when she has her own landline phone in her flat.
I believe that is just creating distance between there being an actual meeting by saying may have used the phone, i do not believe she ever did use that phone.

May have been trying to find which ea sl worked at and had to phone around, so not at all involved in sl life, just some reason or other wanted her. If so that narrows the field to a 25yo+ single male who worked in estate agency and knew fulham area well enough to know where to meet sl. I would think the house he took sl to must at least half a mile away or so and when he returned the car got back in his own and left. Must be an estate agent.

Wasn't there an incident too (although in South London I think) where a man went to a house posing as a viewer - and b@gered off when he realised the female occupant's partner was at home?
