Only way to make sense of it is if SH convinced CS that Tia had gone shopping then later in the evening pretended to be concerned by the child's failure to return home. He could have panicked CS then prompted her to follow the bus and drive to the fun-fair, after which he pretended (within CS's sight) to search the fair's perimeter before returning to the vehicle and telling CS that he'd persuaded the fun-fair staff to let him search inside. If CS remained in the vehicle, she may well have believed he'd really been searching. Maybe SH told CS to remain in the vehicle while he searched (although I think he said in the tv-interview that they'd both searched the perimeter. Maybe CS let that one slide, because it served to put her in good light as the frantically searching grandma)

Well given the description of the area and what "activities" go on there I imagine the whole place would be covered in cameras.

To be honest I don't want to be any part of any spreading of sick rumours based on hearsay only, it's one thing sleuthing on here, quite another repeating vile rumours. But the fact that they are doing the rounds shows the intense feelings surrounding this case and emphasises most of our suspicions that there is more going on than meets the eye.

Understandable- I do feel though that maybe there is 'no smoke without fire' and whatever it is the locals claim to have knowledge of/are rumouring about might have some truth in it- only IMO based on how a lot of the hearsay last Friday ended up being verified as true in the media following Tia's body being found and SH's subsequent arrest. I do hope not though if they really are so vile :(

I do seem to remember reading one of the posting rules that asked us not to PM each other for info that we're not supposed to post on the forum. Not sure if I understood the details of that rule, but it might be worth checking out before anyone gets themselves into trouble with a moderator.

Certainly does seem like they went to the fair, or had been recently- maybe unrelated to any 'search' for Tia. There's a lot of info SH gave regarding the set up of the fair- the security guards and specific rides. And I agree it's an unusual thing to throw in and claim you'd been there if you never did...

This whole family is guilty to a degree, as this 12 yr old girl should have been protected by all of them. IMO, it is the fathers duty to ensure that his daughter is being protected as she should. If I was a man, I would fight tooth and nail for custody of my kids before I would allow them to sleep under the roof of another mans house, with or without their mother. Accidents can happen, and child molesters do not always have a telling look about them. I know it sounds extreme, but the UK has a laid back attitude about these things, and I find it so strange.
This family is no accident, and they are hiding so much, I am almost afraid to hear the truth, as I am sure some dark sordid secrets are going to emerge, I just know it. My heart aches for these children. The British Government has to stop providing for them, if only to ensure that they better themselves and strive to pull themselves out of this underclass.

Someone earlier stated that the fairground rides are kept at Layhams farm road, just at the end of New Addington (very close in fact). Is it possible the family/SH have friends/acquaintances working at the fair. Traveller friends???????? Would this be a reason to go to the fair?

I'm all over the shop with it and yes, I contradict myself every second page

But, that may be it, that simple. SH killed the child for whatever reason. Stuffed her in the attic. When CS arrived home he said Tia had gone shopping, home at six. When Tia didn't return home, CS began to get concerned. Finally one or the other decided it was time to drive around for a look. Fully in character as responsible grandpa, he spotted the bus, said let's follow that. Ok, wasn't on the bus, let's go see if she's at that fun-fair people have mentioned

Made a pretence of searching the perimeter with CS covering the other half. Told CS he'd nip inside for a look and told CS to go sit in the car, it would only take five minutes. CS sitting in car waiting. SH reports back five or ten minutes later and tells her he's looked 'everywhere, even the ghost ride'

'What do we do now?'. So they decide to push on to NS's place. NS contacts the police. SH has no idea what to do next, so he follows the script, attends the candle-walk, comforts the family, goes on tv, tells his tale to the police

CS believes the fun-fair search was genuine so has no reason to contradict SH's version

Day Seven, Friday, arrives and the pre-arranged search is imminent. SH has taken off with a bundle of posters. Police escort CS from the house in full view of neighbours and media, which would be intimidating and humiliating. She has to walk alone, exposed so adopts a stoic facade. Hours later, she learns she has just spent a week in her own home with her grand-daughter's corpse just feet above her bed - the one she shares with the man arrested for the murder

Could be as simple as that

Simple? So why? See highlighted.

The body of a 12-year-old girl found at a house in south London has been formally identified as Tia Sharp.

Tia's body was discovered by police at her grandmother's house in New Addington last week.

Her grandmother's partner Stuart Hazell, 37, appeared in court on Wednesday charged with her murder.

A coroner has opened an inquest into Tia's death, but no details about the cause of her death were given in the five minute hearing.

Ah Moby -- don't take me out of context please

SH is awaiting trial for the murder and as of now, we have no idea how or why she died. The fact is, she did die and unbelievable as it seems, it appears her body was there all through the week of searching

The 'simple' to which I've referred pertains to the rest of it, to the sleuthing re: the fun-fair, for example. The issue of whether or not CS was complicit in the lies (if they were) about the fun-fair search and if so, the ramifications inherent in her choosing to also lie in support of SH and the suspicion others in the family were also complicit re: the same issues, etc.

Hi guys, I have been following the threads on this case and signed up a few days ago, I haven't really got anything to add other than a bit of a moan at some of the papers who still insist on calling SH Tia's "step grandfather" he is nothing of the sort, just grannys shag, while I'm having a moan another phrase they use is "dated" as in "SH dated NS and then her mother" when I hear them say this I imagine SH pulling up in a sports car with the top down, wearing a cravat, Leslie Philips style, he pulls up at the bottom of the Lindens and bounds up to CS's house with flowers to wisk her away on a romantic date.

For what it's worth I think CS is heavily involved in either the murder or the cover up, she looks like a really evil *****, I think it's just her and SH though, also just a word on AN and DN, they seem like decent people, I think I read he works as a roofer(I think) so it looks like NS did get herself away from some of the idiots she associated with when younger.

Could well be. BIB He reported it the other way round. Search of funfair then followed the bus. He may even have told CS that TS mentioned the funfair before "leaving to go to Croydon". Let's look there before worrying NS possibly.

People have said it's strange that one of them didn't remain in the house in case TS came home. Well if it was SH who put her in the loft, he might not have wanted to leave CS in the house alone in case she did her own search. He seems to have stayed in the house for the whole week until the point that discovery of the body was becoming inevitable.

Would a traveller (of no fixed address) (some of which are rumoured to be particularly unsavoury characters) have been able to provide any assistance to SH. Perhaps he went to the funfair to ask a "mate" for help?

and then had to justify going to the fair in case the car was caught on CCTV.....?

ans perhaps the person he was looking for had just left, due to catch a bus, so they followed the 130 just in case he was on it?

But at that point, Tia was only an hour late. Why would Hazell think that CS would have searched the loft so quickly?

@ Moby

What you've suggested within your recent posts is certainly possible, imo
