I didn't know that Kimster..

Just rechecked his charges and he has two charges over 28 gms, besides all the others. That is 25 yrs per charge. Of course the judge can run them concurrently. He can serve no less than 25 years.

I would love to see that list, Kimster. I saw the list on WBG on his older charges but not on the present ones.....hmmm. It might come out when the prosecutor files for discovery.

All of the related charges from 1/21/2010 have Motion to Continue and notation of the Letter From Annette Sykes. I just brought over the first one listed. All of the related drug charges are scheduled to be tried the same day.

Like you, Kimster, I was wondering "why no document dump"? Maybe we should ask the media to request it - again. PC Jailhouse hasn't released any more of RC's tapes even when asked to do so. :shakehead:

Isn't it nice that we happen to have a friend named Levi in the media, I bet he could help by putting in a request for certain things, but he is in Tennessee, wonder if you have to be Florida media to request stuff under the sunshine law.

That supplemental discovery/witness list should be available to the public due to the Sunshine Laws, right? They provide that info in Caylee Anthony's case! Is the media just not interested in Haleigh anymore?

My understanding is media and LE down there have a good working relationship....IMHO..As I see it, IF LE wants it all to just go away; fade into the sunset, media complies.. JMO

I think they show their hand (witness list) right before trial. Each uses it to intimade the other.

They cannot do that any more. They have a cut-off date, usually 30 days before trial, to provide final supplemental discovery and/or witness lists to the other party to avoid unfair advantage and/or surprises at trial.

Anyone can request copies under the Sunshine Law.


119.01 General state policy on public records -

(1) It is the policy of this state that all state, county, and municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying by any person. Providing access to public records is a duty of each agency.

All you have to do is request the information and pay any copying charges.

IMO, the media is not requesitng copies of the drug case documents because it is not specifically about Haleigh. The audio tapes may talk about Haleigh but documents in the drug case won't. Although I still cannot believe not one media person requested GGma Sykes letter to the Judge. Just to probe how GGma Sykes supports/enables Ron.

They sing out loud and clear when you least expect it! I was surprised to see the denial but I believe a continuance was granted once already, and a second one is more likely to be denied. Didn't they have a trial date set once but then RC wanted his case to be heard after MC and TC? I'm relying on my memory, so I need to say IMO.

All I know is that Ron's original plea deal date was 10 days before his trial. Originally it was 7/9, feel free to correct that if I'm wrong, and his court date was 7/19. Now his plea looks like it's due 7/1. Hoop hollar bang boom! Just makes me happy to see something happen towards Ron. I know that sounds harsh, and I'm not trying to convict any innocent person that's under scrutiny, but most of the press has been about MC and family. They looked at RC. Woot Woot, miracles do happen! Let's see what else happens!

I am not sure how to read the part about the plea date. Motion for continuance was denied for the trial, but looks like motion was granted for the final plea date? But it does not show a new final plea date.

The 7/1 date is the day the information was entered into the system updating the court docket. In PC this usually happens 2-3 business days after the action was taken, such as a court appearance or a motion filed.

Now I am confused if Ron has a different date for last plea then 7/9.
It seems to me that if the date was moved but the trial date did not change he still has to plea by 7/19 or go to trial.
I'll stop now as I am starting to confuse myself! :waitasec:

If he w/d his NOLO plea and it was accepted, I don't think they can sentence him on Tuesday. They have to put in a plea of NOT GUILTY in its place and must proceed with trial. At least that is how I understand it to work. All this takes place if the Court has accepted the withdrawal, of course.
