US satellite imagery company Planet Labs said yesterday it will stop publishing high-resolution aerial pictures of the area involved in the Middle East war, following a request from President Donald Trump's government.

This area was defined in a previous announcement as all of Iran and allied bases in the area, as well as Gulf states and existing conflict zones.

The US State Department says two family members of deceased Iranian general Qassem Soleimani have been arrested in the United States after their residency permits were rescinded.

It identified the niece as Hamideh Soleimani Afshar. Her daughter was not named.

But Iranian media quoted two daughters of Soleimani as saying the pair are not relatives.

"To this day, no member of the family nor any relative of Martyr Soleimani has resided in the United States."

The US is bombing hospitals and universities ...

"According to the witness, three hospitals on the main avenue of the Iranian capital alone were hit by bombings. Throughout the city, an estimated 60,000 residential buildings were damaged or destroyed. Pharmaceutical factories, research centers, universities, and petrochemical companies also lie in ruins.

The witness speaks of a brief euphoria following the first attacks, which has completely turned sour. "The US and Israel have made a martyr of Ali Khamenei and thereby strengthened the continuity of the Islamic Republic," says the witness.

The witness fears a further escalation when US President Donald Trump's ultimatum expires on Tuesday. "The country has no metal, no medicine, and soon perhaps no universities either. We are the new Iraq."

"In an interview with the American channel Fox News, US President Donald Trump blows hot and cold about the war in Iran.

"I think there is a good chance of a deal tomorrow, they are negotiating now," he says on the one hand.

And on the other hand: "If they don't close a deal soon, I'm thinking about blowing everything up and taking over the oil."

"On his social media channel Truth Social, US President Donald Trump is once again threatening, in remarkably harsh language, to attack energy infrastructure and bridges in Iran if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz.

"Tuesday will be the Day of Power Plants and the Day of Bridges, all in one, Iran. It will be incomparable!!! Open the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Street, crazy bastards, or you will live in hell. JUST LOOK! Praise be to Allah"

Yesterday, Trump set a 48-hour deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. The attacks on energy infrastructure and bridges with which he is threatening are war crimes under international law."

"Mohamed ElBaradei, former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Nobel Peace Prize winner, calls Trump "crazy." "To the governments of the Gulf States: please do everything in your power once again before this madman turns the region into a fireball," ElBaradei wrote in Arabic on X.

In an English-language message in which he shared Trump's post, he tagged, among others, the United Nations, the Chinese and Russian governments, the European Council, and French President Emmanuel Macron. "Is there absolutely nothing that can be done to stop this madness?!"

"Let those who have weapons lay them down," he spoke in Italian. "May those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace. Not peace imposed by force, but peace through dialogue. Not out of a desire to dominate others, but to meet them halfway."

Pope Leo also warned against a culture of indifference towards violence in the world. "We become accustomed to violence, resign ourselves to it, and become indifferent. Indifferent to the death of thousands of people. Indifferent to the consequences of hatred and division that sow conflict. Indifferent to the economic and social consequences they bring about, and which we all feel."
...

"What an enormous thirst for death, for killing, we see every day in the many conflicts raging in different parts of the world," he quoted the previous Pope."

"Long queues at petrol stations, power outages, and a looming shortage of fertilizer. On the African continent, too, the consequences of the war in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz are being felt.

"As fuel and fertilizer become scarcer, prices are rising. And due to these increases, food, transport, and other types of goods are also becoming more expensive," says Maddalena Procopio of the European Council for International Relations. She focuses, among other things, on the energy sector in Africa.

The severity of the blows varies by country, she emphasizes: "Africa is a very diverse continent. In some countries, reserves are nearly depleted, while for an oil-producing country like Nigeria, there might actually be opportunities."
...

"A bag of fertilizer has become much more expensive," says Procopio. "And that is precisely when sowing needs to take place this season. Ultimately, farmers will harvest less, and therefore be able to sell less food."

Governments are also concerned about the looming fuel and fertilizer shortages and the associated price increases. "The economy is suffering, but there are also concerns on the political front," says Procopio. "Scarcity and the associated rise in fuel prices could lead to unrest and protests."

“President Trump told Fox News during an interview this morning that the US sent weapons to Kurdish forces with the intent of arming Iranian protesters, seeming to confirm a CNN report from last month.“President Trump told me the United States sent guns to the Iranian protesters. He tells me ‘we sent them a lot of guns. We sent them through the Kurds,’” Fox’s Trey Yingst said, recounting the phone interview. Yingst added that the president said he thinks the Kurds kept the weapons.”

Yes there is but Congress, at this point in time, won't do it. The day Congress gave it's war powers away to one singular person will live in infamy, IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!! AJMO

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iran parliament, responded to Trump’s latest threats in a social media post. “Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands,” he wrote.

“Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes. The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game.”

Trump’s expletive-laden post also drew criticism on Capitol Hill.

“Happy Easter, America. As you head off to church and celebrate with friends and family, the President of the United States is ranting like an unhinged madman on social media,” the Democratic Senate minority leader, Chuck Schumer, said on X.

“He’s threatening possible war crimes and alienating allies. This is who he is, but this is not who we are. Our country deserves so much better.”

In a phone interview with ABC News' senior political correspondent Rachel Scott, Trump said he expects the Iranian government to make a deal in "days, not weeks."

"If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country," Trump said. "We're blowing up, as I said, it's going to be bridge day and it's going to be power plant day in the country of Iran."

Trump said "very little" is "off limits" if no deal is made. Asked if that meant targets would include civilian infrastructure, Trump replied, "I don't want to talk about that."

Trump also said he hasn't ruled out sending ground troops to Iran.
