let's not forget the song gained massive popularity because of netflix money heist.
Yep, I remember it being viral on TikTok earlier this year.

Mangioni killed because he hates Thompson/healthcare industry. Robinson killed because he hates Kirk/Christian conservatism. There is a clear reason. Not sure why ppl here think there is not a reason.
Oh, I don't buy that extension you've made to Robinson hating "Christian Conservatism".

I didn't know! I admit I am out of touch with almost all popular culture. I'm thinking references in this case will go over my head so I'll have to just sit back and learn rather than assume.

Yes, for all we know, he was a Nick Fuentes or Laura Loomer fan, both of whom have criticized Kirk for being a ‘liberal in disguise’ or not far right enough.

We really should not jump to these conclusions. It’s damaging.

MOO.

The suspect in custody over the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk dropped out of college after just one semester - despite receiving a presidential scholarship, Daily Mail has learned.

I wonder if he was working. Or, was he dependent upon his parents for the vehicle and the phone and other electronics as well as internet and cellphone plans in which he indulged his social media and gaming social life?

It's kind of amazing how having to work and be accountable to others to provide the things in which a person indulges himself makes a youngster grow up and plant his feet (and mind) in the real world.

I knew I recognised the arrows, just didn't put it together (I just mentioned Helldivers in another comment as well!)

I completely agree. Unless there is some evidence released of the shooter having a serious political leaning or footprint, I'm honestly going with him following a trend so to speak... Oh my tinternet frens don't like Charlie Kirk so I don't like Charlie Kirk... Oh I'm gonna be so famous watch dis...

Idiotic.
Exactly my thoughts as well. It’s sad to see how many on social media are still trying to make assumptions. Similar to Trumps would-be assassin, this kid is likely just a confused, chronically online, mentally ill individual, with no cohesive political ideology.

Bullet casing inscriptions give possible clue to motive

Mike Wendling
BBC News

The markings on the bullets described by authorities indicate that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, was steeped in online culture and included references to the Antifa , or the anti-fascist, movement.

A fired shell casing was inscribed with “notices bulges OwO what’s this?” - a reference to a “copypasta” - a piece of text that is repeated over and over again, often to troll people online.

Authorities say one unfired casing had the words “Hey fascist! Catch!” and three down arrows - a common symbol used to represent the anti-fascist movement.

A second casing had the lyrics to a song “Bella Ciao” inscribed on it. The song honours WWII-era partisans of the Italian resistance who fought Nazi Germany.

The third unfired casing was inscribed with the words “If you read this, you are gay lmao” - again an apparent reference to online trolling humour.

Antifa is a loose collection of far-left activists who have been active in the US over the last decade, at street protests and other events.

They often oppose Trump's policies and far-right groups.

Per my earlier post, investigators shared information the engraved bullet casings found near the weapon used by the shooter. And notably, one of the casings was engraved with ‘Bella Ciao’.

This, as my colleagues have reported, is the name of an anti-fascist anthem that is sung annually in Italy to commemorate the end of Mussolini’s dictatorship and the end of Nazi occupation in Germany.

'If you read this you are gay ' sounds like something a primary school child would write.

Moo... Watching the hour delayed presser last night ....I full expected FBI Director to speak. The governor took no questions. I thought ....they got someone and are making dang sure ....this time .... they have the RIGHT person.

I was thinking the same thing. This shows to me he was certainly not a trans supporter like some are claiming.

Let's consider ourselves lucky for not understanding those messages. It's not our world (and the shooter would likely dismiss as too old to matter anyway - that's just a guess because I dislike him so much, not a fact).

A lot of young adults these days seem like callow children.

They seem incapable of understanding anything that doesn't directly affect them as having any depth, or being "bad", or "wrong", or real... it's all just abstract games to them.

I assume his family recognized him from the photos, his dad confronted him, and he then confessed to his dad.
Those are my thoughts, as well. Parents know, we all have a sense, gut feeling when it comes to our kids. Moo....

What am I missing here?
LE didn't capture TR and bring it to an end, his father and friend brought TR to LE to surrender.
The one thing that was historic about a US political assassination is how the suspect ended up behind bars.
ino

"FBI Director Kash Patel claimed the capture of the suspect was 'historic' - patting the bureau on the back for bringing the manhunt to an end within 33 hours."

I assume Patel attributes the capture in part to the public release of photographs of the suspect, so that those around him would recognize him.

I’m glad I know many absolutely kind, wise and open minded young adults and teens

Exactly and that in combination with how easy it is to get your hands on a lethal firearm, results in cases like this.

Here in the UK we have the online safety act attempting to make changes in what young people can and cannot access on the internet - will it work? I don't know, but it's an attempt.

Something NEEDS to be done before another weeb kid with no deep thoughts of their own goes and commits a violent act for internet fame 😔

FBI director details timeline leading to suspect's capture

Kash Patel and Utah officials give update

During the news conference earlier, FBI director Kash Patel gave a timeline of the events leading up to Tyler Robinson's capture.

In 33 hours investigators made "historic progress", Patel says.

  • At 12:23 local time on Wednesday 10 September, Charlie Kirk was shot
  • Within 16 minutes, the first agents had arrived and secured the scene at 12:39
  • The FBI "immediately launched fixed-wing assets" (aircrafts) to transport special personnel and evidence
  • The first set of FBI photos of the suspect was released at 10:00 local time yesterday
  • At 10:45 local time yesterday the FBI reward of $100,000 was announced
  • Patel arrived at the scene at 17:30
  • At 20:00 the governor led a press conference when video and images of the suspect were released
  • And at 22:00 last night the suspect was taken into custody

The public has been fervently celebratiing Kirk's murder unfortunately. Many have lost their jobs.

this is the problem. It’s not fringe anymore, to think words are bad and must be silenced.

I assume Patel attributes the capture in part to the public release of photographs of the suspect, so that those around him would recognize him.

I can see that about Patel even though it's run of the mill procedure when there's CCTV footage.
imo

I find it interesting that Robinson was a member of Kirk's primary audience demographic. As such, imo Kirk's messaging was probably taken by him in ways that I -- as distinctly NOT a member of said demographic -- don't have the same frame of reference for and don't interpret in the same ways.
