Just in the last few years there has been an increasing number of deaths in the younger generations due to buying on the internet what they think is a feel good drug that turns out to be laced with fentanyl.
That is consistent with the medical examiner's testimony. It seems that it doesn't matter what the drug dealer said he sold (oxycontin and oxycodone), those pills quite often contain fentanyl.

This is March 3 timeline was posted upthread. If Eric was fine at 10 pm, and not fine at 10:13, then something he ingested around that time killed him. Kouri is directly connected with obtaining street drugs that are often laced with fentanyl. Nothing connects Eric to street drugs.

March 3, 2022
8:30 pm – midnight – Eric texts work associates and searches how far from Scottsdale to Nogales
8:30 pm – midnight – KR’s phone is locked and unlocked several times
9:00 pm – KR says she and Eric had a drink to celebrate
9:30 pm – KR says she went to bed with her son after he had a nightmare
10:00 pm – Eric spoke to his friend Scott on the phone (Scott said Eric didn’t sound drunk or high and their conversation was normal)
10:13 pm – Eric receives a text from someone named Raul (it was never opened or read)

Iiuc it was just before trial that RC recanted on his testimony.

The jury will have to decide whether to believe his interview or his testimony or none at all, but the how of the fentanyl is myopic.

KR shows with her search history that, once the ME said they were going to run toxicology, she knew his COD would be drugs (already knew, before the report).

There aren't probably a lot of causes of death in otherwise healthy, relatively young men but she rejected Covid (how could she know it wasn't?) and started pushing her narrative, that he was buying sketchy gummies from sketchy Mexico... but the trouble is, there was no evidence that he ingested any gummies prior to his death, let alone ones that were laced with street manufactured fentanyl.

The jury will be instructed to weigh the evidence but consider the totality of it when they deliberate. That means going global, big picture. They are charged with living with reasonable ambiguity, not unlike murder cases where there is no body.

Outside insinuation, the Defense may have to put the defendant on the stand (not likely to be a good idea) to present a new narrative, that ER asked her to get the drugs and no one knew they were laced with fentanyl, just an unfortunate accident, ya know.

But there's no evidence to support that, and it doesn't fit with the midway mountain of evidence against her.

I made a timeline from the testimony given so far and think it makes things more clear when seen all together. How dare she not look hot at her murder trial!!
There is the old “lipstick on a pig” saying……just sayin’ 😂

  • #3,106
Fair enough, it was more to avoid potential issues and this was before kids etc.
Still, maybe it bothered her but she signed it to prove she wasnt after his money,
Maybe she wasnt initially, but over time, maybe it changed. I wish I knew more about if and or why the sisters weren’t that fond of her and when it started.
I imagine Kouri thought she controlled her husband and made it known she knew best. I cannot imagine why they didn’t like her….as we watch her being tried for his murder. We have no way of knowing how KR treated her in-law family. Her own husband didn’t trust her, and with good reason. IMHO

  • #3,107
Did any other drugs show up on the toxicology report? I have not been able to keep up on every day of the trial. I was just wondering if she got the oxytocin's or oxycodone from the drug dealer and it was laced with fentanyl, wouldn't that other drug also be in his system?

And in order to put the drug into a drink or on a sandwich, would she have to crush it up or something? I feel dumb, but I always thought fentanyl was some kind of powder.

The tweezers are something that made my eyebrows raise too .. but are these pills super tiny? I'm trying to figure out why the tweezers may be important.

Thanks to all of you that have given such good updates this week!

Yes I see that now for sure. I just wanted to know if there was a reason to start, but as @tlcya explained to me, I totally get it.

Wow seeing it all together like this made me realise how quickly it deteriorated, for some reason I thought it happened over a longer period of time. You can almost sense her mania for money.

A couple of questions I'm not sure if anyone can help with - what's with the search from Eric from Scottsdale to Nogales? Trying to understand the relevance to the case or if there is none and it was just work related?

Who do we think she messaged the gifs to? I assumed it was her boyfriend at first but then it didn't appear to be from the text exchanges/his reaction in court?

Her friend that seems to still be supportive of her is so questionable. I can maybe understand the blind faith and wanting to believe she's innocent regarding murdering her husband but what's not in any question is that she stole her other friends entire life savings and left her without a home, that alone would be enough for me to sever my friendship with her but that's JMO.

I think Kouri wanted more drugs because she intended to put them in locations that implicated Eric.

Stealing from a friend she had known since junior high school was surprising.

Kouri's friend worked in the hospitality industry and saved $45,000 for a down payment on a house. Kouri sold her a house and was the guarantor for the mortgage, where her friend paid $2900 mortgage per month to the lender.

Kouri did not file the house title transfer paperwork, and took out another mortgage on the house. Kouri did not pay that mortgage, and allowed the house to go into foreclosure. Her friend - and children - were evicted in January 2024.

The L.A. friend from junior high school, who attended the retreat with Kouri in 2021, appeared supportive of Kouri when she testified. She said that she did not recognize Kouri's handwriting - which came across as trying to prevent evidence from being admitted. The evidence was admitted halfway through her testimony anyway.

Maybe the L.A. friend did not believe that Kouri had stolen from their junior high friend? Maybe she believed Kouri?

Someone provided KR with a houseful of gummies that hadn't been there previously.

Who but a trusted friend could do that quickly, get to her house quickly, not raise suspicion and put revellers in a party mood?

Follow the gunmies. They didn't kill ER; deliberate conspiracy to misdirect, after the fact.

It sounds like Kouri went completely nuts when she first learned that (allegedly) murdering Eric did not give her ownership of his assets.

“In fact, she pulled herself together enough to close on the purchase of a $2 million home, hire a real estate agent, hire an architect to create CAD drawings of the home, hire a lawyer in order to file a lawsuit on Eric’s trust, hire a locksmith to break into and clean out my brother’s safe, and attempt to have Eric cremated,” she said. “She mustered up the strength and resolve to do most of this within 48 hours of his death.”

Amy also recalled when Kouri allegedly punched her in the days following Eric’s death, when Kouri learned she was cut out of her husband’s will.

“I told her that she could not kick me out of my brother’s house, my sister was now the executor of Eric’s trust and estate,” she said. “Kouri looked at me with pure hatred and rage. I was messing up her plan, I was getting in her way. And because of that, she attacked me. She punched me in the face and neck multiple times. It took four people to pull her off me that day.”

She was charged with class B misdemeanor assault for attacking her sister-in-law.

Let’s see what Amy Richins has to say when she takes the stand, hopefully next week!

I didn’t realize this defense team tried to disqualify the prosecution team or just Mr. Bloodworth over some fake allegations.

But I bring this up here because what the prosecutor, Ms. Olsen, says starting at 8:46 minutes is so on point and something that I’ve started noticing in a lot of these high profile cases. She talks about how some defense attorneys are intentionally placing appellate issues into cases so that if their client gets convicted they have laid the groundwork for a reversal. She is PO’d. And even the judges says he understands why the state is mad about this.

Those of you who have been following the Zach Adams new trial hearings have seen how that defense attorney perjured herself on the stand and injected manufactured appellate issues to get him a new trial. That is my opinion and it is clear as day to me that she lied on the stand about several things. I hope more prosecutors call this bs out! There needs to be accountability for these defense teams who engage in this nonsense.

Did Rashbaum, an experienced attorney, inject conflict issues into the case to manufacture appellate issues for Charlie Adelson? If the double extortion bs doesn’t work, Charlie can get another go? Was that the plan?

I think it was so that Carmen didn't think Kouri had used them on Eric, when the tox results came back. That they were for someone else who was still asking for them. Carmen was working for Kouri's aunt and would have probably found out.

  • #3,118
Does anyone know who was watching and/or taking care of the kids while Kouri and Eric were at work; did they have childcare? Was someone at home when the kids got home from school or during summer break? If so, has that person been interviewed?

Good point!! Because Carmen testified that when KR called and told her Eric was dead, she immediately said to KR… “please tell me those pills were not for him”. KR assured her they weren’t and said Eric died from an aneurysm.

The fact that Carmen immediately put the pieces together probably spooked KR, so she asked for more pills to seem less suspicious.

KR told Carmen Eric was dead on March 6 and more pills were purchased for KR on March 9. This theory actually makes the most sense to me. Good thinking!

This link includes a letter written by Kouri to investigators. She mentions that they had a nanny for a while, but she left at some point for personal reasons.
