I wonder why they chose Liberty Park... mid point to the north SLC Lyft drop-off and the campus?

It was reported that she lives west of the university. I also think the flyer distribution was planned before it was learned that her Lyft destination was North Salt Lake? Not sure on that. MOO

Liberty park is great for getting the word out. There are a lot of people there on the weekend.

that makes all the sense. as does @SuziQ . I imagine her family, friends and community are all feeling a little lost right now.

Police say they are still investigating the Lyft situation to determine whether Lueck actually did get into an official Lyft car.

Det. Michael Ruff with the Salt Lake City Police Department says that the police are seeking to establish communication with Lueck or communication with anyone who may know her whereabouts.

“Whether she’s endangered or not that’s a tough thing to say right now. We are just treating it as we’d like to find her and we are just trying to track down any leads right now,” Det. Ruff says.

Police are trying to determine what happened after she got off of the flight from California.

“We want to try and contact her one way or the other if she’s missing or she isn’t we need to make sure she’s okay,” Ruff says.

[...]

It uncharacteristic of Lueck to go missing for several days, or to miss out on work and school, her friends say.

“Just really unlike her to not answer a phone call or a text for four days. For your phone to be off for four days is very alarming,” AF, a friend of Lueck, says.

I can't shake this sinking feeling that has been building inside my heart. Something tells me after reading all the information I could find about this little girl, that her disappearance was not intentional on her part. Everything I have read says this is not the kind of thing she would do knowing it would cause this much worry for all the people that care about her she seems like she is the kind of person who could never do that intentionally to her family especially. I hope that at this point in time LE kick this investigation into high gear because time is not on her side. They need to find this girl sooner than later. What else can we do to help in this search?

This is a weird one, in part, because we know so little about the circumstances of her disappearance.

The way this is going though, with minimal information being shared, I’m far more confident than usual of a happy ending here.

I think that in the near future, we will hear something to the effect of “Kenzie has been located safely, and she is no longer considered missing.”

I hope you are right! :)

Looks can be so decieving!. Something or someone made her decide to go to North Salt Lake instead of going home especially at 1am. Kenzies friends appear not to have been confided in, that appears odd as young ladies are on their phones continually to each other telling each other tiny daily things. What was her secret?. Odd time to go somewhere unless you had been there before. Did she have money worries flights and travel can be expensive?.

Facts point to her having voluntarily gone to a location other than home via Lyft from the airport on the 17th.

Whether or not she's voluntarily remained missing since then is the open and pressing question for LE.

All of her friends, acquaintances, co-workers, etc., need to be completely open and forthcoming with LE right now so that they can hopefully locate her and verify her whereabouts.

Adults have the right to go voluntarily missing in this country.

Some choose to exercise that right, as we've seen here before.

JMO.

Can any locals shed more light on what is in North Salt Lake? I get the impression it's not really a residential part of the city and is more commercial.

Have you seen this woman? 23-year-old MacKenzie Lueck is missing in the #SaltLakeCity area. She’s a student at the @UUtah and family/friends haven’t heard from her since Monday. She’s expected in Los Angeles Sunday for a wedding. #Utah #MissingPerson

Where is the U of U in relation to these locations of interest? It's believed Kenzie's residence is closer to that area, correct?
It is NE of Liberty Park. Google Maps Correct - she lives west of the U.

Thanks for clearing up the LA return date. I saw another tweet that said July 23rd and that confused me since we're still in June. So I'm going to speculate that Kenzie flew back from her grandmother's funeral to attend class and work, take her midterm exam, etc., but something or someone interrupted her plans.

This is great.

Yesterday, I was frustrated that this hadn’t been more widely covered by the local media.

It has all the makings of a big news story, yet the silence was deafening.

Glad to see the uptick in not only local coverage, but national attention as well.
