All I know is that you don't drop in on someone at 1 a.m. without some sort of prior communication. If she went to a residence, police must have some idea of who she was going to meet. But, if she had a car, why wouldn't she go home first and then drive to this place?

So at this time one week ago ML was preparing to return to SLC, at least she was packed and we know she made it there safely.
Sometimes LE has to continue to focus back on the 24 hours before a person goes missing for any clues.
Not suggesting anything happened at the funeral in CA, it's just always important to see if they can find clues to state of mind, intentions, etc.
I hope they are successful in locating ML asap.
I know we all want to hear from her family or at least a spokesperson, and imo if this continues any longer, we will see an aunt or uncle or someone else step in to comment.
IIRC she doesn't have any relatives in SLC so they would have to come in.

Agree that it's important to know from friends/family in CA who saw her before she left how she seemed in terms of demeanor, behavior, mood, etc.

The fact that none of her immediate family members have come out to SLC and still have not publicly made any statement directly themselves is highly unusual.

Having said that, I do recall that her dad, I think, has been quoted in some MSM, so he may be talking to reporters.

I'm wondering if there was a family disagreement or confrontation of some kind before she left.

I'm sure LE has fully explored that angle.

I don't see how this could be related. However if they think she was kidnapped as they say in the press conference, could this be related?
Westminster police searching for black SUV after woman is possibly kidnapped
I have no idea or any inside info.
Chi NOT intending to chase ghosts or de-rail but do the times fit even? That's like a 7 hour drive iirc.
ETA I don't see how it's related either

I’m looking at this article and not seeing any correlation atm. Catching up and hoping to see a quote specifically referencing the context of that reference.

Well something like that would certainly make a hell of a lot of sense.

It would explain everything we’re seeing, and not seeing.

We’re not being told everything.

maybe she was dropped off at an apartment complex in NSLC so LE are unsure which occupant she went there to see? Unlike a house where they would know who owns it right away. MOO

Ha! I hereby nominate you for the WS "Understatement of the Year "Award.

You might want to start working on your acceptance speech...I think you're a shoe-in.

I wish LE would give at least a road intersection as per her destination dropoff. Sometimes things are held to the vest too long and when information and video cams are released, it's not jogging any memories because it's weeks and months later and people have moved on.
I believe the destination holds the key to her being missing. Only Lyft driver, Lyft Corp and LE know the destination. I wonder if the family knows? Im thinking they don’t because of privacy laws since shes an adult unless being a possible in danger missing LE are allowed to tell her parents. Maybe there’s a gag order on the destination? Does anyone have the answer to this?

This is what I'm thinking, too. LE may even know the resident she visited via her text messages (and they don't want this info getting out). Maybe they went to his apartment, nobody home, manager let them in, - no bags, no evidence of foul play. Maybe KL went to hook up with this person and maybe things got out of hand and he abducted her and turned off both of their phones. Maybe she's just looking for an opportunity to escape and seek help. This is what I'm hoping.

Could she have been using Tinder on the way home On airplane and chatted with a guy located in NSL and decided to meet? College students always on their phone and impulsive. I googled NSL there are some nice apts and homes there. I guess it’s not all bad.

I think the family would know as well.

Law enforcement might ask them if they knew if Kenzie had any ties to that location.

There wouldn’t be a “gag order” per se, as that can only be issued by a judge, but they may have been asked to keep quiet about it.

A bit tricky to determine her demeanor in the prior 24 since she was attending a funeral. Even when the death is expected and peaceful, it can be a strange time for people in the days surrounding a funeral.

The silence from LE and family that WSers have pointed out is confusing - not sure whether to read the silence as hopeful or not.

In general, it is a very positive sign.

Usually, we see the family front and center. If they live out of town, they go to the location where the missing person lives.

We saw this in the Mollie Tibbetts case, with her father (he traveled from California to Iowa).

Exactly right.

And in the Kelsey Berreth case, her incredibly brave, amazing mother came to Colorado and gave a press conference when Kelsey went missing.

I take it as a positive sign that both family and LE are remaining relatively tight-lipped right now.

This sounds very logical.

If the wedding was family, maybe her family was waiting or (hoping) to see if by some chance she would return back to California. Now that that time has come and gone perhaps they might start speaking out about her disappearance. JMO I’m at a total loss as to why we’re not hearing shouts from the rooftops!
