I thought the reason they pretended to be married was so she could go to the px on the military base. He even filled out the form for her. I believe this was the federal charge they were arrested for previously.

I THINK if you lie on a government form, you can be charged with perjury. I'm not sure of that charge, but it's something close to it.

ETA, there were more charges. Here's a video explaining some of them. hth, fran
Arrested Dr Martin MacNeill and Gypsy Jillian Willis - YouTube

He has really aged in the last 6 years. He doesn't look to be in good health at all.

Been thinking about all the testimony......I'm thinking more and more nails are being driven into MM's coffin each day as far as motive goes. No smoking gun but the motive is becoming overwhelming. This just may get a guilty verdict.

I truely believe that Martin had already tried to kill her once. Remember when Alexis stated that she stayed by her moms side the first couple of days after they got home from the hospital, and her mom was doing good? Then Martin insisted that Alexis had to be tired and she needed to get some sleep. "I'll look after Michele tonight." The next morning when Alexis came in the bedroom, her mom was almost comatose! Alexis said what did you do, she was fine last night? He said, oh, I must have given her too much medicine. (not verbatim)...I honestly think that was his first attempt! To make it look like she died from complications from the surgery. But Michele didn't die that night and Martin had to go to plan B. Odd to me that as soon as Alexis leaves to go back to school on the 10th, her mother is dead on the 11th. IMO~

I agree. What better way to hurt Alexis even more. To be there when it happened. Perhaps be the one to find her Mother. Marty had to know Alexis was aiding Michele in finding out all about Gypsy. Another point. With the pills beside her bed was it to lead LE again to Michele committing suicide. Easy and close access. Alexis would back up the affair issue as it was true. The tub plan seemed rushed and not well thought out.

I wonder how he is feeding himself, what $$ does he have? Certainly he isn't employed as a doctor.

On a lot of issues, there might be reasonable doubt, but there are a few things that really cannot be overcome by the defense:

1. There's no explanation for the tub being half full -- there's no explanation for the water faucet being turned off

2. Martin told Rachel and the police that Michele was found draped over the tub with her head in and feet out (Head first)

3. The extra narcotics were prescribed at Martin's request and were refilled at Martin's request

4. The motive is strong, and Martin's behavior after the fact with Gypsy and with his kids was so bizarre, including lying to his kids about the new nanny and staging a meeting at the temple, and stealing Giselle's identity and abandoning her in Russia (or wherever it was)

5. Having the medications disposed of before an investigation

I know my children would often repeat things they heard me say when they were that young. I think it would be very difficult for a 6 year old to process and understand what she saw in that instant. So how does an interviewer know whether the recollections a child has are actually factual or assimilated with discussions she has maybe been privy to or within earshot of hearing? I would imagine that is tough for LE and Attorneys, psychologists, parents etc. how does one know the difference?

I believe her, and was everything she said that happened afterwards(beings with freinds at the house) corrobated. She can process it and remember it but not comprehend what it meant.as in death.

On hln after dark tonight GW parents

Thanks :seeya: I will check it out for sure. After seeing the 20/20 Interview and hearing from the Mom today I think they are lovely people. They are just unfortunate to have a Daughter who is a Sociopath. IMO.

I agree with you. I believe that Gypsy was hedging trying to distance herself from complicity. Her mother's testimony blew her "casual" relations out of the water. I also believe that Gypsy's testimony hurt MM's case because of her obvious bias answers "I don't remember when he proposed" was bad theater on her part.

Truly. I had to laugh when Gypsy couldn't remember the details of the proposal. Yet then rattled off the carat size of the ring and how much it was worth. Blatantly showed she lies.

She is definitely lying about the price of a 4 and a half carat ring....$7k my arse. Closer to $30 k, and that's probably on the low side. I wish he would have caught that.

Gypsi's mother testified? Or are you talking about Michelle's mother? I didn't catch her testimony today.

Oh, wait...was that Gypsi's mom today? I thought it was Michelle' mom...I just saw the clip about being thrilled to have him as a member of the family. I'll have to watch it.

Could someone explain to me why MM and Gypsy "pretended" to get married on the day of Michelle's funeral? They didn't really get married? but MM wore a new wedding ring?
I'm really confused as to why they would do this. Why? What's the scheme about?
I am driving myself crazy to come up with a reason :scared:
Am I wrong with the "pretend" marriage? I thought, originally, that they really got married.

:sos:

I think they wanted to change her identity completely to
1) Hide Gypsy's bad credit rating
2) Obtain benifits that would be availble only to a spouse
3) Open accounts to hide money from the adult children
4) Allow MM to change the ownership of his home without having to go through probate.

I got engaged in 1994, got a .75 K ring and was pretty sure he (my ex) spent a few thousand. That's why I was like, hey what? Oh, and even though it was 20 years ago and we are divorced, it was on my birthday in the Poconos. It's ridiculous to think someone wouldn't remember that.

Were Gypsi's parents aware of the circumstances of Michelle's death when they used to visit?
