We really never hear any objections from the state

That lawyer is still working away at the same point? About the drugged state of Michele that day?

Someone put that attorney out of his misery.

They can yes, but apparently are not going to. This is one of my concerns with the lawyers for the State. They appear to not really be doing their job completely and with the gusto that they should be, IMO.

MOO

I can only hope that since Alexiis holding her own and sticking to the truth as she knows it that the state is letting this witch hunt continue.

For those that didn't know, the prosecutor mentioned last week, that Alexis just gave birth to twins the prior week. She looks awesome for just having twins!

She also did an awesome job on the stand! She is one strong woman! Lots on her plate!

:thumb:

They were even born early. Supposed to be born early November according to Alexis' husband.

I say kudos to them. Without their sleuthing MM might not be sitting in the courtroom today and would surely get away with this crime.

Have you read the affidavit? In the first pages it's given description of more of MM's lies. Michele and Alexis had opened his mail from the Mayo Clinic and they found out he didn't have cancer etc. like he told everyone. It seem like they never confronted him about it at the time.

And "OMG". When loading the the trial live from FOX I had a cosmetic surgery advertisement first. How very inappropiate!

Yesterday I accidentally refreshed the livestream and the ad that ran was for Utah Cosmetic Surgery offering a 50% off sale on something....

If Michelle's drug induced condition was more profound than stated, what good does that do for MM. What difference does it make about Alexis telling her mom dad gave you to much medicine when MM stated that same thing to Alexis, when she questioned him that morning after finding her mom in the state she was in.

They're trying imply she is being overdramatic and that Michele was not as affected as she is saying she was now.

Sounds like face surgery is pretty hard....why do people do it? And to think she might not even have wanted it!!

LOL! I was soooooooooo hoping she was gonna say "Can I get refreshed again about what your point is?"

Wildattrial has had the same gross looking big toe in an advertisement for nail fungus I have ever seen in my life. Everytime I glance at it I think of MacNeill's soul.

Speaking of these ads, it has always bugged me that he found the plastic surgeon from an ad. FGS, he was a doctor, surely he had to have known someone in the field to at least give a recommendation? :waitasec:

Oh that's right - He probably didn't want anyone to know!

Does anyone have the 20/20 link handy? I want to be ready for this...

Why would any lawyer take this case Pro Bono?

Excellent question.

Is Martin paying for his defense or are these court appointed lawyers?

ATTORNEY RANDALL SPENCER, 46, was born in Illinois, graduated from Brigham Young University law school in 1994, now working for the firm of Fillmore and Spencer. He gained notoriety as defense counsel in the case of the State of Utah vs. Larry Peterman in 2007--the so-called "Movie Buffs" 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 case. As part of his role as public defender, and despite his LDS morals and upbringing, he was required under protestation to view copious amounts of 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, but felt that "...there was substantial infringement of First Amendment rights, and the Constitution needed to be defended.”

CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYER SUSANNE GUSTIN has her own law practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has primarily made her name in criminal defense of sex offense cases. She bills herself as "aggressive" in criminal defense in a field "dominated by men".

Mr. Attorney there is always a first time when someone says something. Why doesn't he understand that? Is this all he has? Pretty sorry IMO.

  • #318
This prosecution needs some lessons from Juan. They need to object more and get more aggressive.

  • #319
Pro-bono, IIRC. Don't know if they were court appointed, though.

If you look at the female defense attorney's website, I get the feeling she's thrilled for the notoriety from this. I spent some time reading through the testimonials she had posted - Good Lord, it's a little disgusting. Maybe I'm naive, but it seems to me that good defense attorneys justify the nobility of their callings by looking at the wrongly accused that they help get through the system. This one seems to brag about the guilty people she helps beat the system.

Alexis is doing an awesome job. All the girls did in their own way. One thing clear to me is those girls were so loved by Michele and they in turn loved her too. They must miss her so.
