when the neighbor who called 911 gets audibly choked up and then says the child is covered in wounds my heart broke for him. That had to be so upsetting. Very glad he was home that day to answer the door when little R came knocking. The neighbor (a man) becomes emotionally overwhelmed by the boys's condition while talking to the 911 operator and says "You know there's been problems at this neighbor's [Jodi's] house" and refers to the boy being "emaciated" and obviously having been "detained".
I am so very sad for these kids. I hope they are out of the hospital, getting the best psychiatric care, with familiar extended family who are surrounding them with love, nourishing food, and most importantly a sense of safety.
Very mixed feelings about the dad, who obviously did zip to protect them from Ruby in the past.
Children bond powerfully with the parents, though. Maybe best to have them living with emotionally healthy extended family and give the dad supervised visitation?
ConneXions, Jodi and Ruby's "advice" business had a podcast. I've only glanced at a few of the episode topics/descriptions so far, but these are clearly concerning.
For example (bolding by me; italics are my comments)...
Episode 242: (Ruby)
It is no surprise that children are growing up in a predatory society. Businesses, schools, governments and special interest groups are all finding ways to exploit and make profits off of our children. How do we, as the adults in their lives, keep them safe?
(Ruby was doing exactly that....exploiting her children for profit.)
Episode 241: (jodi)
Holding Onto Trauma Will Make You Sick.
The Truth about experiencing life is that most of us have experiences that are upsetting and even traumatizing. This is absolutely part of the human experience.
The Truth is we are not meant to stay there in those experiences. We are meant to move through the upset and the trauma.
(And these two women were perpetuation trauma on these children!)
Episode 236: (Ruby)
Keeping Kids Safe in a Predatory Society.
In this podcast, a mother asks how she can preserve a relationship with her adult children.
Preservation is an outcome of applied principles. For example, preserving meat requires application of salt, brine, time drying and/or freezing temperatures.
The idea of "preserving" a relationship also requires application of principles. Tune in and see how a mother is encouraged to "preserve" her relationships by sharing the Truth with her adult children who aren't so eager to hear it.
(Very ironic since Ruby has driven away her two eldest children.)
Found on Spotify, Apple podcasts, etc.
ETA: fixed typo
She stopped her 8passengers vlog about a year ago, is that right? And instead she started the podcast with Jodi. I wonder if something specific made her stop with the family vlog - did the kids have visible injuries, for example?Yeesh. Another similarity to the Daybell / Vallow crew -- the use of podcasts to disseminate these "Truths" in order to justify one's actions and to recruit new adherents / paying customers.
Tho LVD clearly felt her children were more lucrative dead than alive, while RF needed hers to power the business. And she had limited time for that -- once they got out it they were going to talk, and as they grew up there would be more of them talking.
And how was she going to replace those experimental subjects that successfully fled the nest? Fostering?
Darn. She’s only spending 7 days or so in jail.no mugshots but they are to make fist appearance at 1:30pm on Friday
Court recommends pre-trial release for '8 Passengers' YouTuber Ruby Franke
Hopefully if she is released it is with GPS and a no contact order for all the kids.Darn. She’s only spending 7 days or so in jail.
They are still in custody, not awarded bail afaik. That might change tomorrow, when they make their court appearance.Arrested social media influencer Ruby Franke and her husband Kevin Franke have been living separately for the last 13 months, as her husband’s attorney says his client “just wants to do what’s best” for their kids after their mother’s arrest on six felony child abuse charges.
In an interview with Good Morning America on Wednesday, Kevin’s attorney Randy Kester described the father as “a good person” and said he’s been “distraught” over his wife’s arrest last week.
“He’s a very gentle guy, and no one’s ever made any allegations that he’s ever physically abused those kids or anyone else,” Kester said, adding, “He just wants to do what’s best for his kids and get them back, get them under his tutelage and his fathership and protect them.”
Lawyer for Ruby Franke's Husband Says He Had No Role in Alleged Abuse: 'Very Gentle Person'
I am super frustrated. Was dealing with clients and can find no update on whether the women got bail.

I'm not sure that's a good idea until LE know the extent of his involvement.KF wants to get the children back “under his tutelage”?!? Are you KIDDING ME?
ThanksFrom what has been reported, the kids are with the state. Although as @Gardenista pointed out, the state can place the kids with relatives.
I believe the two kids were home alone when the boy escaped because the 911 calls indicate that Jodi can rolling up
In her car at some point, looking for the kids.
So from this audio it sounds like R didn’t know E was in the house?Long version of 911
Sounds like the caller has had some experience with Jodi and had an inkling she was bad but didn't realize how bad. I'm glad RF went to a house where the people were kind. Very touching.Long version of 911
It's possible, if RF were restrained in a room, that he didn't know who was in the house that day. ??So from this audio it sounds like R didn’t know E was in the house?
