I never said there was a direct connection to Amy's case. The connection, in my opinion, is the lack of action by the cruise line (owned by Royal Caribbean), the secrecy, and the criminal element on some cruise ships. My mentioning that Rebecca's disappearance was almost on the same day years later, and the age similarities, were nothing more than (to me) eerie coincidences. YMMV.

Just to be clear, Disney is not owned by Royal Caribbean. That is my understanding. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

These are two separate entities and yes perhaps the only connection is the family is left with more questions than answers and the "eerie coincidence".

IMO, in Rebecca's case, the family appears to have more than the Bradleys. There was some "relationship" issues in Rebecca's case whereas there was nothing to even suggest Amy had any issues to go overboard.

I think that is a major difference.

No, you're correct. I was thinking of Merrian Carver. Apologies.

Oh, I'm not so sure he should be left alone. It's just that he wasn't one of the identified handlers. ;) :)

The photo being referenced is the one of him in the hat. Our insider also said that it was believed that the photo was taken by Iva Bradley.

hmmmmm I don't understand. I think some are seeing some of the same features on the waiter with one of the sketches (handlers) but the insider said the waiter is ruled out? How was he ruled out? :waitasec:

No need to answer because I know you're not the one who said he was ruled out but wondered how they know for sure he is not.

You're correct that I don't have the answer. I can speculate, though, that -- if he was still working in the cruise industry in 2005 -- it would have been easy enough to clear him if he'd been on a cruise in the middle of the ocean on the day of the sighting.

(I have a vague recollection of the insider mentioning that Cabrita still worked in the industry, but I'd need to find that post to be sure.)

That's ok. No worries. Makes sense that would be why he was ruled out.

Interesting read about a family whose teenage daughter was drugged and hidden away on a cruise ship. Thankfully she was found before she was gotten off the ship.

Their experience with the cruise ship crew sounds eerily similar to what the Bradley's experienced when Amy disappeared.

http://educate-yourself.org/lte/cruiseshipshumantrafficking16oct11.shtml
Dangers of Cruise Ships: Abduction, Trafficking, Disappearance & Cover Up

At this time it was early in the morning, maybe around 1 a.m. No public announcement had been made about Lizzie's disappearance -- no such announcement was ever made -- and the security people said they could not begin knocking on cabin doors, as it would be an "invasion of privacy." They did tell the boys to go to the security office and give statements -- the next day! I have never seen any statements, if any were ever given.

We took her to the infirmary, where the doctor carried out blood tests. We heard him say, "Oh, my God! It's evident she's been drugged."

(This is bizarre: About three weeks after the cruise was over we got a letter from the cruise line confirming that my daughter had consumed a date-rape drug.) But five days after that, we got a second letter, also from the cruise line, saying that nothing had happened.
Human Trafficking?

So what DID happen on the ship? And why?

When I saw Lizzie and ran down the stairs to her, one of the crew said, "I found her on the bottom of the ship in a cubbyhole." My family were never allowed to go to see that cubbyhole; we have no idea how far it was from the teen center. But I know that Lizzie's clothes and hair were damp when we got her back. (She said that she does not remember anything clearly after sitting down with the boys in the cafe and drinking a cup of tea.)

We were told that there was no videotape coverage of the cargo area, the crew area, or the passageways and elevators inside the ship. So if these boys drugged my daughter in the cafe, as we believe, and brought her by elevator to that out-of-the-way storage area, there was nothing on tape to prove it.

thanks ill have to leave the waiter alone now LOL

I appreciate your points on the waiter. And I personally see him as too suspicious to believe he was nothing but an innocent bystander. I don't know that any of these crew members should be entirely left alone, it's highly possible that several of them played some part in Amy's disappearance, though not as the "handlers" that have been identified by witnesses.

It's very possible that they did work as "spotters" though, and could have knowledge of who they reported to and / or who recruited and paid them. The thing is that these organizations are of such a hierarchical nature, that those at the bottom, such as the spotters, would never see or have contact with who they actually work for.

Regardless, they still should not be discounted as suspects with information and knowledge. Perhaps the FBI did glean some information from these crew members, we certainly would never hear of it. Have they been cleared ? Maybe so. Or, does the FBI just know that they are nothing but peons and they have gotten whatever little information that they can provide.

Doesn't mean this waiter is completely innocent, imo, or that someone's not keeping an eye on them... If so, this would include Yellow as well, also jmo.

Thank you so much for the advice
When i have some free time, i will read back

If my questions annoy you, please don't feel obligated to answer
I am sure someone else will help out

I think it's great for posters to ask these questions, at least for me it helps to refresh my own memory, as there is so much information to keep up with on these cases. Not to mention, there are things I may have missed or have not recently thought about or perhaps have forgotten, that you and other posters may bring up. Hey, anything pertaining to Amy's case that stimulates discussion and that keeps those neurotransmitters firing I am grateful for.

This is informational though a rather sobering read about human trafficking. I selected just a few to post here:

55 Little Known Facts About . . .
Human Trafficking

Approximately 75-80% of human trafficking is for sex

Human traffickers are increasingly trafficking pregnant women for their newborns

After sex, the most common form of human trafficking is forced labor

Sex traffickers use a variety of ways to “condition” their victims, including subjecting them to starvation, rape, gang rape, physical abuse, beating, confinement, threats of violence toward the victim and victim’s family, forced drug use, and shame

Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises because it holds relatively low risk with high profit potential. Criminal organizations are increasingly attracted to human trafficking because, unlike drugs, humans can be sold repeatedly

Human traffickers often work with corrupt government officials to obtain travel documents and seize passports

Belgium, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Thailand, Turkey, and the U.S. are ranked very high as destination countries of trafficked victims

except the verified insider said this was false and that it was actually a waiter that said "sorry about your sister" to Amy's brother before anyone knew Amy was missing. ???

Thank you! That's what I thought FA had said. AD/Y was "asleep in his cabin" since 1am according to him, but we all know better. A witness saw him and Amy at 530ish that morning. It was the waiter (EC) who said "sorry about your sister" before anyone knew anything. He should have been questioned about his knowledge of her disappearance. JMHO

thanks ill have to leave the waiter alone now LOL

Like JaimeSommers said...I wouldn't leave him alone yet. I think he knows quite a bit about what happened.

A 14-year-old Staten Island girl and her family returned safely to their home after a man attempted to kidnap the teen during a vacation in St. Maarten.

Alisha Warraich and her mother, Laura Warraich, are inseparable these days following a week-long Caribbean cruise that nearly ended in disaster.

"It was traumatic," the girl's mother told WCBS/Channel 2 on Monday night.

Last Monday, the family was on the first portion of their cruise to St. Maarten. Alisha had just stepped off a water taxi when she said a man grabbed her arm and began to drag her away.

"I was so scared and nervous. I was so shocked that I couldn't even scream or anything," she said.

The suspect whispered a creepy message into the girl's ear before attempting to nab her

This is totally awesome, even more so considering this has been accomplished in the tiny country of Israel.

I agree. If in fact one or the other (Y or the waiter) made that comment to Brad, it is of huge importance in this case because it leads to one of them knowing Amy was missing when nobody else but the family knew. So was it Y or the waiter?

I forget. Did the waiter take a polygraph? We know Y did and depending on what report we read, one says he passed another says it was inconclusive, IIRC
