I want to make sure this is perfectly clear - what I am about to state is RUMOR - but it is from one of my 2 trusted sources that I have gained info from.

My source knows a person who works with a friend of BL. Apparently it has been said by this person to my source that BL is a small time drug dealer and that it is possible that BL does owe money to someone or that the person above him owes money to the supplier.

This is RUMOR only and I am not stating this as a fact - just passing along information. However this still doesn't change my mind or my theory that I posted yesterday.

BBM. Do you take this to read LE still has some belief the child was abducted vs. the kidnapping being staged? or would you think they are looking for evidence that Aveion might have been in a vehicle while he was no longer with us?

I am still praying this child is ok, but I have honestly given up hope of finding him alive. Sad to say...........

I think right now they are still trying to cover everything. Just in case. I'm having the same gut feelings as you are, though.

Police to hold a news update at 5:15. Just heard on channel 10. Wont be televised but will have reporters there on the scene...

  • #325
I will do my best in letting y'all know what is happening.

OMG!!! BL is in custody but not charged. They believe the child was dead before the 911 call was made. LE does not have a body. Lots of inconsistencies in BL's statements led LE to this conclusion.

Unfortunately we had it right...and we knew it before LE did...

ETA: LE is continuing the search for Aveion's body.

So very, very sorry little Aveion...

Based on conflicting statements of stepfather the police believe that Aveion was dead before the 911 call. Stepfather in custody but not charged yet. No body has been found yet. Police believe there was no kidnapping...as per channel 10 news.

Oh no.
I knew that stepfather's story was all over the place.
I felt this case was similar to Daisja Weaver and Hassani Campbell.
And it looked like it could end the same way, but
poor Aveion.

I imagine LE had serious doubts about his story from the beginning.
And what about mom?
She comes home to hear this story by husband?????

Prayers that Aveion is found soon.

For this child's sake, (and that doesn't even sound right)...I hope the Mother was not at home and I certainly hope she didn't have anything to do with this cover-up.

My thoughts exactly.

Poor baby, he didn't even have a chance...looks like our instincts were on point with this one, from the beginning...unfortunately.

I pray that they can recover his body soon.

ITA with what Dreamweaver (?) said above...very, very similar to Lil Hassani.

Brandon Lockett, who we spoke to last week, is now in custody, and being questioned in the death of his step-son. He has not been charged.

Police say that Lockett told them Aveion was dead prior to his 911 call to report the child missing.

Roanoke, VA - Police are now treating the case of a missing Roanoke toddler as a death investigation.

2-year-old Aveion Lewis was reported missing to police last Thursday, but police say conflicting stories forced them to focus on his step-father.

Brandon Lockett, who we spoke to last week, is now in custody, and being questioned in the death of his step-son. He has not been charged.

Poor little Aveion. :(

This is heartbreaking that our worse suspicions look as tho they are true.

I don't doubt that his mom knows full well what happened to him....I never liked the look on her face in that news vid....IMO, she looked sorry for herself, not that little precious boy.

Prayers for justice for Aveion and strength for his family who really love him to see it thru.

Roanoke Police Department Continues Investigation

On January 14, 2010, the Roanoke Police Department received a report of the abduction of Aveion Malik Lewis from the 2100 block of King Charles Avenue. Since then, the department has investigated the reported abduction and received varying degrees of cooperation from key persons in the investigation; which lead police to question the validity of information received from some individuals. As a result, investigators began to focus on the possibility that Brandon Lockett, Aveion' step-father was not providing accurate details. Based on conflicting statements given, and significant developments within the last 24 hours, police determined that it was necessary to expand the previous and ongoing ground search. As the search progressed, Police were advised that the reported abduction did not occur. It is with great regret and sadness that the Roanoke Police Department announces that our investigation has moved from an abduction to an investigation into the death of Aveion Malik Lewis. All indications are that Aveion was deceased prior to the 911 call made on January 14. This information has been provided by Brandon Lockett. Unfortunately, police do not yet have a known location of Aveion's body. The expanded ground search, which began this morning will continue in an effort locate Aveion.

Investigators are working to obtain more information surrounding the circumstances of Aveion's death, and those details cannot be released at this time. During this investigation we have received overwhelming support and cooperation from the public, and the Roanoke Police Department thanks everyone for their cooperation. The department asks for the public's continued support, assistance, and cooperation. This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information regarding this investigation should call the Roanoke Police Department. The department thanks the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Virginia State Police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and numerous public safety agencies and search teams from across the state and outside Virginia.

WSLS reporter Megan Farley said that this is a 'death investigation' not a murder investigation and said that LE made no comment either way about the mother of Aveion.

Just got home from the vet and found out too. It's not too often that all of our hinky meters are going off the charts and we end up wrong. Poor little baby.
