Why would school officials WANT a teacher (or student/s) to be victims of violence? Please elaborate. Thanks.
Why would a VP deny assistance to Abbey and other teachers reporting a gun? Even after the gun was seen.

How could this not be “wanting violence”? Why would any school VP fail to investigate?

All MOO

Detectives interviewed the child’s former kindergarten teacher, now retired, who said the child “placed both of his arms around her neck, pulling down, choking her to the point she could not breathe.” Another teacher had to forcibly remove him from the classroom, according to court records.

Isn't it interesting the 2021 incident where this child choked his kindergarten teacher was missing from the NNPS record.

Hate, malice, jealousy. MOO

I could see Abby being vocal about wanting change and helping students. Especially about the violent child's behavior and they wanted her to be quiet. They didn't like a young teacher making waves. It made their jobs harder. IMHO.

Newport News, Va. — In the moments after a 6-year-old shot his teacher in a Virginia classroom last January, the boy made statements including “I shot that (expletive) dead,” and “I did it. I got my mom’s gun last night,” according to recently unsealed police search warrants.

The new court documents in the city of Newport News offer fresh details regarding a shooting that critically wounded a first-grade teacher and shocked the nation.

The teacher, Abby Zwerner, survived despite being shot in the hand and chest and is suing the Newport News Public Schools for $40 million. The 6-year-old's mother, Deja Taylor, was charged with felony child neglect and a misdemeanor count of reckless storage of a firearm. A plea hearing for Taylor's case is set for next week...

I hope AZ's legal team manages to get the whole truth and nothing but the truth in court (and to the public)!

That has been a puzzler since the beginning of this case. Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe we'll find out eventually.

Just how much was the CPS involved in this boy's past? And, why were his records not complete? Why was there missing information? Obviously, the school is negligent in not providing those records...but in saying that, what else is "missing" ?????
And, more importantly, WHY ?????

The Federal government cares more about this child than they care about any other child or teacher or staff member at this school. So they will hide and protect him at all costs.
The Feds twist the arm of schools to include dangerous and out of control students in regular classrooms by threatening to take away funding. The Feds consider extremely disturbed violent children as disabled, no different than a child in a wheelchair, or with dyslexia.
Schools take the money, playing a game of Russian roulette everyday. They lost on this day.

Was the reported violence against the kindergarten teacher in 2021 required to be reported to CPS. Do parents have the right to remove such reporting from their child's school records?? These schools have legal advisors... what did they know? If they knew, what was their advice to the school?

Does anyone know where to find Virginia's legal requirements regarding reporting of violence against teachers and school staff? I did a quick search but most of the results are related to the rights and protection of parents and students... like this FERPA doc

ITA. I fear we will never get the whole truth.

The 6-year-old boy who seriously wounded his teacher at a Virginia elementary school in January said in the aftermath that "I did it" and "I got my mom's gun last night," according to newly unsealed court documents.

The child made the statements to another teacher who had restrained him after he opened fire on his first-grade teacher, Abigail Zwerner, as she sat reading to her class at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, according to a probable cause statement and search warrant affidavit.

The documents shed light on how the boy likely obtained the weapon, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, used in the shooting. His mother, Deja Taylor, told Newport News police in an interview that she typically "stores her firearm in her purse with a trigger lock in place, or in a lock box," according to the probable cause statement.

On Jan. 6, the morning of the shooting, Taylor believed the gun was in her purse with the trigger lock installed and left on top of her bedroom dresser, according to the statement. She added that the key for the lock is kept under her bedroom mattress.

Newport News police have previously said the gun was legally purchased, but were investigating whether it was properly secured as the child's family has claimed...
