A like button was not sufficient. You expressed so much better what I have been trying say. All of this.
Thanks, @tlcya, from one oldster to another.

Yeah, I’m curious about the legality too, when, technically, you haven’t requested a lawyer but a lawyer has been retained (paid for) in your behalf and LE will not allow the lawyer to see you.

so who hired the attorney? He didn't request one and hadn't spoken with the guy yet. Did his family retain the attorney and send him over?

RSBM

This is so frustrating because that’s the most important information she could share. Would best help investigators, would best help Codi, and could get people to leave her alone entirely. This just doesn’t look good.

If she doesn't know anything, what exactly is she supposed to say? She believes in her brother at this point, apparently.

She was there the first night at the police station. I understand she left and went back home to Washington. I don't think she's in the military, but I guess anything is possible. She has not been discussed and I don't know anything about her. Not even her name.
I'm guessing since the thread title still says "parents named as POI" that I'm allowed to post info found on her? I don't want to cross a line I shouldn't so I'll wait for confirmation. TIA

JMO, but she hasn't been named in MSM or by LE - so she is off limits until that happens. I also don't think she has been named a POI, only Corey Bigsby. You can always alert on your post and wait for a Mod to weigh in.

Wonder if the other 3 boys are with her?

I think that’s exactly what happened, based on what I heard in the press conference and in the news reports.

Things sure got quiet in the media today?

Lawyer: Cory Bigsby wasn't at Hampton Police Division by choice
Chief Mark Talbot had said that Bigsby stayed at the station for four days willingly, had been made aware of his rights, and hadn't asked for a lawyer.

Bigsby's family hired attorney Jeffrey Ambrose to represent him after the police division said he was considered a "person of interest" in Codi's case.

Thanks. In the beginning I saw where the 'parents' were POIs, but most recently saw just the father named. I just never saw the mother excluded from that original statement.

I'll just keep mum on my findings since it doesn't appear she's a POI. :) I don't have much of interest other than her name and such.

You all are amazing! I haven't been able to be on here for a few days, so I thank you all for the updates.

If she doesn't know anything she should shut up. Simple.
If she cared about her nephew, she would say that she cares about him...yet she doesn't. She is an enabler.

Candlelight prayer service held for missing Hampton boy (wavy.com)
Some, like MW, took turns addressing the crowd.

“A lot of people are very concerned, a lot of people are very upset and we just want a favorable outcome for Codi. We’ve been printing out flyers, working with different organizations just to make sure that people aren’t forgetting that there’s some little boy out here that is potentially out on his own,” said MW who grew up in Buckroe Beach, “Even though its been a week since he’s gone missing, it’s still important that they constantly see his face and know that any information, any tip is important.”

It’s okay if she believes whoever she wants to. Even just saying “I haven’t seen him in months” if it’s true, is sufficient.

Would it be sufficient though? I fear whatever she says at this point is not going to be enough. As far as we know, from the two MSM interviews she's done, she came from DC when she heard Codi was missing, so quite clearly she's not involved in his disappearance.

Also, since the charges were brought against the dad, I haven't seen any interviews with her. Her opinions may have changed.

Nothing is being questioned with regard to his mum, who LE at the beginning of the investigation named as a POI. As of now, I don't believe she is, but there was obviously something that gave them pause when first talking with her.

I'm just wondering if we're losing focus and becoming distracted by background noise.

I would hate to see this turn into the circus that unfortunately Summer Well's case has become.

All my opinions.

Well, that is interesting. The police chief stated he was there voluntarily. (For multiple days???) His newly hired attorney denies that claim. His lawyer might be right. Then again, if he was there voluntarily he may be regretting that act and is claiming he was there against his will. I suppose we'll have to wait to hear more.

I was actually talking about his sister....however, I agree with everything you just said in regards to both of them.

It would be difficult watching your sibling get trashed on TV if in your experience that was not your experience seeing him as a dad. She may be talking to a lot of people to provide a different POV.

I know this has been discussed a lot.

I just don't see this happening. A lot of times even when a person isn't in custody, they will let them know their rights just to CYA.

His family hiring an attorney for him doesn't count as him asking for an attorney, he's a grown man. He would have had to ask for one himself. I'm pretty sure that LE has made sure to cross their T's and dot their i's. moo.
