HAMPTON, Va. - It's day seven in the search for 4-year-old Codi Bigsby, and Hampton Police officers walked in and out of the apartment belonging to Codi's father, Cory Bigsby, at the Buckroe Pointe Apartments, holding brown paper evidence bags.

Police say they are focusing on evidence and any intelligence they gather to further the investigation rather than large scale search efforts around the boy's home.
I am really curious about what 'evidence' they would take today, that they wouldn't have taken last week?

They are collecting evidence to build a case. They’re going to find out what happened to Codi and who is responsible. I’m sure of this.

It seems like they are pretty sure that what ever happened to him, happened in that apartment.

I was looking at a timeline of events for Codi's disappearance. If the FBI is correct in their investigation that he was possibly missing before his dad called the police, I wonder what made him finally call. I'm on the fence. I don't think he wandered out of the house but I guess I'm not completely convinced dad harmed him either. I think I'm leaning more towards an accident happening when the kids were left alone. JMO
Speculation and my own opinion, but I believe the dad reported Codi missing when he did, because he thought he had the “evidence” squared away and his story straight. He had probably thought it through and maybe rehearsed it in his head.

This poor child.

Yeah, which is exactly what I meant when I posted this a while back to someone asking why he waited 7 hours to report.

To give him time to ... <fill in the blanks>

OK that would make sense. Thank you.

Search warrants are usually specific, rarely see wide open warrant. In many cases, the first warrant produces evident that will lead to a second warrant and so forth.

I remember from the Kesley Berreth case, the mother owned the condo and gave full permission. LR waited for the warrant.

Moo, to insure all evidence was legally obtained.

Have they searched the house that was recently purchased? Wonder why they had not moved to the new place.

I wonder if Cory was just taking his time getting moved out since rent would already have been paid for that month. Getting the last few things moved and getting the apt cleaned up before final inspection/walkthrough would be done so he'd get a security deposit back

So the bond hearing is tomorrow at 8 am. Wondering what the likelihood would be of a bond being set and him subsequently being released..

It better be ZERO likelihood.

That's going to be interesting. Is he a flight risk? Is he a danger to the community? I know what I would do, but not sure it's legal.

That's what my thought process is, too. I'm not sure how they make those decisions.

In the article..

"Cory will reportedly ask for bond on Tuesday. Ambrose says his client is not a flight risk, has no failure to appears and is part of the community in a substantial way. He said Cory doesn't have the means to leave the area."

I personally don’t think an accident while CB was away would spiral into all this without him having told by now what happened and what he had done to cover up the accident .. more likely to me he’s hiding what he done whether he get away with it
or not ..but I am still holding out hope Codi will be found and soon.

Now that the once crowded command headquarters is quiet, the only thing that remains is a growing memorial. It’s a sign the community is holding on to hope.

Many people in Hampton do not personally know Codi Bigsby, but those who stopped by the memorial have one thing in common.

"Our prayer is that he’s coming home," said CS.

What we know — and don’t know — about Codi Bigsby’s disappearance
Cory Bigsby reported his son missing at 9 a.m. on Jan. 31, telling police he last saw his son sleeping in his bed about seven hours earlier. But police say that doesn’t match other evidence in the case, and they don’t believe the boy walked away in the middle of the night. <>

Outreach by the FBI <> also has raised speculation that the boy has been missing for much longer.

The FBI asked people to come forward if they have knowledge of the comings and goings of Codi or his father since the holidays. “Have you seen Codi, his father Cory or his siblings since Christmas?” an FBI message posted to social media asked. <>

Asking when last seen since Christmas and not at the end of January? Oh, Lord. What happened to Cori?

So Dad reported Codi missing at 9 am. I wonder what time he told LE that he noticed his boy was missing?

I am pretty sure Dad didn't sleep in until 9 with 4 little boys at home. ...what time did he figure out Codi wasn't there?

Did he go outside looking and ask neighbours or call anyone to ask if they saw him?

I thought that dad said he last saw Codi at 2am with spiderman flip flops on, but now he is saying he last saw Codi at 2am sleeping in his bed.
Is dad changing his story now or is he saying that Codi was wearing flip flops in bed ?
