VA - Herndon, Joseph Ryan shot, Christine Banfield stabbed, both deceased, in home - Feb 2023

Two people lost their lives so that a young, but stupid and log-shaped au pair could wear another woman's dresses.
He raised killing Christine for years with various affair partners, Brendan was the driver of this. He never married Au Pair, even though it might have benefited his case re: spousal privilege, she really was more ancillary. I hope her testimony is effective in convicting him. It would be great if she ends up serving longer.

I notice her lawyer has changed her image for the stand - no longer blonde. Now wearing glasses and a moustache.

We all see through this nonsense.

She is just as guilty as the husband for the murder.

Without her testimony convicting him was less likely was the thinking of the Commonwealth re: the deal that was struck.

Imagine being the defendant who thinks he was so clever and had thought through every thing to avoid getting caught. And now he's sitting there just aghast that all his efforts were so easily detected!! I wonder what goes through his mind. He probably thinks ugh I should have done this and this instead and I would've never gotten caught.
I hope he never walks free a day again! I think you are right. From Day 1 they saw through his story.

Notably BB can't be bothered to look at the exhibits. Apparently something is very important as he's taking notes feverishly.

I will never understand lovahs who unite in murder in order to further their relationship. How do you ever dare close both eyes?

It is sad that the lows of human nature never cease going lower.

Well said!

I'm surprised CourtTV is covering this, or maybe I should say I'm surprised so few people appear to be following it.

Too many competing headlines, I suppose.

Sad truth.

I wonder where the little girl is now...

I wonder where the little girl is now...
She is living with Brendan’s mother and grandmother in the house where the murders occurred is my understanding, the same situation as existed before Julianna, then Brendan were arrested. I believe she cut all contact between the little girl and Christine’s family, compounding her losses. I personally hope Tess is charged with obstruction or similar and custody is changed. Mooo.

That is terrible. If he is convicted, (when), I hope Christine's family can terminate his parental rights and ger her back. It should be a given, if one parent kills the other parent, the surviving parent should automatically have parental rights terminated on conviction.

I've been through a divorce with a young child (she was around the same age as the Banfields' daughter at the time). It was terrible and painful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. And yet as long as I live, I will never ever ever understand why people come up with these insanely convoluted and cruel plans to kill innocent people and deprive children of their beloved parents rather than just getting a freaking divorce!

He killed his wife for this nanny? Is he blind?

This is no offense to Christine Banfield and Joe Ryan who tragically lost their lives over evil greed but for some reason the trial lacks captivating my attention.
I've had it on and off on my TV...trying.
There's a flat monotone that has been running throughout it and it may be both the prosecution and defense attorney's deliveries.

This also went on with the prosecution's star witness against BB....the other murderer.
Maybe it's the defense attorney Mr. Nice Guy who lost the fire in his belly?

I thought this after reading your comments and it's all I've come up with and it very well could be just me.
imo

I think that Court TV assumed there would be more about their affair brought into evidence because the whole thing did sound like good TV.

Many extramarital affairs? Geez, I just don't see it. He must have one helluva good line because physically he is bordering on gross.
He could have been paying for them

The moustache 😀 I noticed that. Making her look old, hagard, beat down, and like she may have been desperate and dependent on him...she should serve as much time as he does, the rest of their lives.

Did they have other nannies or was she the first?
I hope that Christine's family get custody of her daughter. I hope they instill in her all the love her mom had for her and help her retain any memories she has of her. I doubt that's being done with Brendan's evil mom. MOO

They had at least 1 other au pair who was very close to Christine. The little girl was in her wedding and she flew to VA right after the murder. The prior au pair may be a witness, we shall see.

Agree. And to make things even crazier, the families had known one another since Christine and Brendan were teens. Jmoo.

Just curious, where are you all finding this info about BB’s mother, prior affairs, etc?
