GUILTY VA - Phylicia Robinson, 26, Norfolk, 3 Oct. 2012

  • #61
I'm reading the FB page...from what people (who appear to be in the loop) are saying there are no leads at all. Boyfriend has been cleared, family not suspects, no trace of her past her front door. This seems to be more an issue of media not paying attention-so many people are reaching out to Nancy Grace, and local media to try to generate interest. I just suggested looking into setting up a reward fund and also contacting Texas Equusearch. That might generate both new media attention AND new leads.

Also, the website "Black and Missing" has contacted Ebony magazine...I contacted a friend who writes for "The Root" (a highly trafficked African American blog) to see if they can cover the story, and she's going to talk to her editor.

It's just mind boggling when you compare the complete silence on this case to the coverage that Whitney Heichel got. Which is not to say that poor Whitney didn't deserve that level of coverage, but Phylicia does too!

Her ex husband hasn't been cleared though...

I hadn't read that...do you have a link?

People on FB are saying that her son's father HAS been cleared, but I haven't seen anything officially...or is there another ex?

I am on her FB page too and getting discouraged with the racist comments some are slinging around. Ugh... really people? That isn't going to help find her. There are other women in the area they are missing that are both black and white and the news/police are JUST as quiet about them too!!

After going back and re-reading all of the articles, I can No Mention of anyone being cleared.

But, my hinky meter is still pointing to the ex. He entered before anyone else and could have staged it the way he wanted. He spoke of Phylicia in the past tense saying, "She was a good mother" in the very first interview.

All of her belongings worth stealing (car, purse, money, credit cards, and jewelry) were not taken.

j/w wonder how a body can be in a closet for 2 months and no one alerts to anything wrong? Maybe g/f finally found out and that is why he killed her....?

this is terrible

The first article posted said the house is vacant..

Sounds like the half of the duplex that Phylicia Robinson lived in is now vacant.Unless I am misunderstanding. It appears this guy rented the other apartment.Seems strange though that she went missing October 3rd and the apartment has already been vacated, renovated and ready to be rented.Again unless I am not understanding things right.

The scary thing is wether it is Phylicia Robinson or not this guy seems to have murdered at least two women. I wonder what else he is responsible for?

Apologies... I hadn't previously really been following this case: was Jamiel Douglas Graves previously mentioned at all with respect to Phylicia's disappearance?

For those who haven't followed the links above, Jamiel Douglas Graves was arrested yesterday for killing his ex-girlfriend, Mandi Myers. When police searched his 2-apartment building, they found another body in his closet; the other apartment in his duplex (which is currently vacant) was Phylicia's. (http://hamptonroads.com/2012/11/womans-body-found-house-near-ocean-view)

I think it's going to turn out that the body is Phylicia's, it's just too coincidental... I wonder what happened.

I think this is Phylicia too. So sad.

Because I always assumed she was dead (there was no way from the description of her that she would intentionally leave her 5 year old), I am glad that it appears her ex was not involved; at least her child will still have one parent.

I couldn't see the FB page, but no, that name has not come up in the media or anything. A duplex neighbor! Well, that explains the staging. He's pretty darned close to the victim and was bound to be questioned by police :(

The details are sketchy right now, but it sounds like maybe poor Phylicia just had the misfortune to live beside a monster.

Ah, I was just coming to post this link, my heart sunk when I heard the news this morning. What a strange twist. I am thinking of Phylicia's family at this difficult time. I don't want it to be her, but if it is, I am thankful she was found.
