I wonder if Rooney offered to give Michelle a lift to her dorm room after she mentioned calling a cab to get home. What would possess this guy to rape and murder this young girl and think that he could actually get away with it?? What a waste!

On sunday, there will be a vigil at UVM for Michelle.

a scholarship... wow, this is great to hear- and that is one of the best legacies you could ever leave. i hope this provides some measure of comfort to her family.

however i do wish colleges would also address issues of drinking more aggressively... (mostly for women who are especially vulnerable).. it could prevent many of these unnecessary student deaths.

Prosecutors plan to try murder suspect Brian L. Rooney on unrelated sex charges before they convene a trial in the abduction and killing of University of Vermont student Michelle Gardner-Quinn.

The Chittenden County sex-assault case -- one of two sex cases Rooney faces beyond the murder accusation -- should be the priority because the crime occurred before Gardner-Quinn's slaying, the case was filed first, the victim is alive, and the proceedings are less intricate and therefore able to move to trial more quickly, prosecutors told a judge during a court hearing Friday.

Hi Shadows, and thank you for the update. From what I have read and heard so far, this alleged murder/rapist has no concience and needs to be put away for life--period. I hope that happens for the sake of justice, for Michelle's family and friends, and to help protect others.

When we transported him from our facility to St.A, he was in general population there for a very short period of time. For his safety, he was put in seg.
He never reached general population in our facility. So when he comes back, that is where he will go to.

I remember Michelle's Myspace account had the most haunting song that played when the site opened. I put it on mine and when I hear it I think of her and feel a little sadness.
