Adre-Anna case rare for missing children
Adre-Anna Jackson vanished without a trace one month ago, joining a small class of boys and girls no parent wants their child to be a part of the South Sounds missing children.
The faces of 18 youths, who were between 1 and 17 when they disappeared in the last 25 years, appear on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Childrens Web site as constant reminders of their unknown fate.
Most were abducted by a non-custodial parent or have run away from home. Two are considered endangered missing, while investigators are unsure what happened to another two, who are listed as lost, injured or missing.
While its not uncommon for youths to run away for a couple of days, investigators say disappearances like Adre-Annas are rare. Within the first few hours or days after a child goes missing, investigators usually know what happened, or the child is found.
Thats not the case with 10-year-old Adre-Anna.
