On another note, was Jenise of Philippino AND Nooksack background?

SBM

I think the children were placed with the grandparents as part of a CPS safety plan because there was a past, possibly lengthy history with Jenise's family. What happened to Jenise was probably the final huge straw that broke the camel's back.

Being with the grandparents and away from their very tense community is probably in the children's best interest for now.

On another note, was Jenise of Philippino AND Nooksack background?

I think a mod said in the last thread we can't speculate about the details of the children being removed. Just a friendly FYI, because we burned through that last thread so fast :)

Thanks, I will remove that part of my post.

I haven't seen anything to suggest that James Wright is seeking litigation against anyone. I could understand his frustration at the reports of his background because he knew they were barking up the wrong tree. I know I would feel the same, if it were me and my child was missing. He has stated he needs to work to support his family and how will he do that now? I could understand that too. But it's a far leap to be making to suggest that his voicing frustration means that he intends to sue. HE hasn't said such a thing (if I'm wrong please cite your source) so why debate whether he would win or lose? It's ludicrous.

I feel horrible for these parents because I know what it's like to lose a child. These people are grieving.

Stop with the litigation stuff. I didn't see anything in that article that talked about litigation. You need a link to support the discussion.

If I had been accused of arson in the past, I wonder if it would delay my response in calling in a fire in the neighborhood. Especially if I didn't want my past dug up.

He used language common in the preparation of legal action. I NEVER said he was suing. I said it was odd he was so kind and forgiving to the person who brutally murdered his tiny daughter, but rails against the media for ruining his livelihood by reporting THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM.

Maybe it's just me, but I think I'd direct my anger at the perp, not the folks reporting it.

Thanks for saying something. I kept searching for it in an article and couldn't find anything. No wonder!!!

Oy.

A fire is not your flesh and blood child. And LE has said nothing to suggest the reporting was purposefully delayed.

Of course not!!!

Please forgive my poor choice of words. blue22, you know there has been much interest in why the family waited as long as they did to report, certainly expressed here in WS. The idea occurred to me that they might be thinking/praying she would turn up and because they knew his past would come out, they waited and hoped a little longer than they would have if his past weren't a factor.

I was actually trying to find a nicer way of conveying my thoughts ~ not being careless or cold!

I think I totally misread what you were saying. You weren't saying that he did delay because of his past? Just that he might have felt scared about assumptions making that call and being in the situation?

LOL, I think we posted at the same time! I don't think it was your wording, but my hasty reading.

Hadn't she been gone in the past for long hours? It was felt she was there at bedtime, but left in the AM. Apparently, that was not super unusual.

No, her dad said it was unusual for her to be gone by 7am.

It's on page 4 of the PCS.

I saw that part, but it was not enough to get them worried when she was gone for lunch as well as dinner.

Regular poster here (and fighting with the mod side of me!): We have never seen a thing anywhere that says they didn't worry. We actually haven't seen anything that says they didn't look themselves earlier. We know they waited to call the police but what we have seen is that he didn't worry until the first check-in window passed (2-4 hours or between 9-11am).

If they became worried once she missed that first check in at 11am, why not canvas the park and call LE by 12? That 10 hour difference might have made a difference.

"Reports from neighbors put the girl’s last known appearance in the park between noon and 4 p.m. Aug. 3."

"Neighbors" .. plural, lends validity to a degree. Jenise was last seen August 3, *Sunday*.

This raises questions:

1) Was Jenise in her house / bed Saturday 10:00 PM? Assumed "Yes", as per father's report.
2) When did Jenise leave her house? Assumed between Saturday 10:00 PM and Sunday 7:00 AM. Most likely Sunday early morning.
3) Who was with Jenise Sunday before 12:00 PM?
4) Who was with Jenise Sunday between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM?
5) Who was with Jenise Sunday after 4:00 PM?
6) What time Sunday did Jenise initially encounter GG?

Given a reported last sighting time of 4:00 PM, we might assume time available to commit the crime probably 3 to 5 hours.

I haven't seen anything in msm that they became worried at 11 am. The reports said they became worried that night. I've seen 8:30 pm listed as the time the parents started looking for her but nothing about 11 am.

Jenise was last seen Saturday night when she went to bed. Her family noticed her missing Sunday morning but didn't become worried and call for help until that night because she had left the home on previous occasions and wandered around the neighborhood.
The family felt it was relatively safe because the mobile home park is fenced, Wilson said

Jenise wasn't reported missing until Sunday night. Her family said the 6-year-old is very outgoing and has left the home on previous occasions to wander around the neighborhood with siblings or friends, according to the station. They said she usually checks in every few hours and, when they woke up Sunday morning and didn't find the girl in the house, they assumed she was somewhere nearby. When they still hadn't heard from her by 8:30 p.m. that night, they started going door-to-door and eventually called police.

Sorry for being unclear. CF said there was nothing in the media that said they didn't get worried earlier or that they weren't searching earlier. My post was a poorly labeled hypothetical, if they were worried early and if they did canvas the neighborhood after that first missed check-in then why didn't they report her missing after the canvas failed to find her?
