The pictures are beautiful, a lot of people showing concern for Jenice's family.

I do wish people wouldn't turn this tragedy into a funding thing. That should only be done by family, their church or a very close friend. IMHO

I read the comments on FB too. I noted that the church has offered free services etc. There was a comment about setting up the ******** to be sent to the Bishop of the church. Another one for the family as there were lost wages involved (unclear if it was Father or Mother or both).

just a thought.....with kids being so cyber dependent, I wonder if parents at the MHP are checking their kids texting records?

with the LE on site, getting some 'chill time' is going to be difficult (MOO)

While parents certainly should be doing this anyway on a regular basis, sadly, most do not. Most parents have this idea that it's an invasion of their privacy. All our teenaged kids have phones/devices and they only received them with the understanding that we WILL check their devices on a regular basis, for their own protection. Way too much garbage out there to tempt them.

Totally! And our kids don't need more friends. They need PARENTS. And sometimes your kid is gonna hate you, but you're doing it to keep them safe and make sure they're not doing anything that would put themselves in risky situations.

I thought this part of the statement from LE was interesting; bbm:

"a regional Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team, which helps in all missing children cases, not just in abductions;"

http://www.centralkitsapreporter.com/news/270233541.html

Personally, having followed the Jorelys Rivera case, I see the point of that clarification from a different angle than some. The point I heard there was directed toward the community and local law enforcement: "For future reference, you don't have to believe the child abducted to call in CART; you can call them in for ANY missing child."

I specify this because our local police dithered around longer than they should, IMO, assuming Jorelys was a RUNAWAY (no history of running away, lots of history of being unsupervised). It took, IMO, way longer than it should have for them to activate CART. For those unfamiliar, at least in Georgia, CART doesn't just have some scanner and show up when they hear about a kid who didn't come home after dark. It's a bunch of people who are specially certified to be a part of the CART team (usually law enforcement/SAR/Communications) from all over the state. So generally, when there is a child missing for any reason, it is up to local law enforcement and/or the GBI (state police) to activate CART (make that first call saying 'please come in and help').

The occurrence of any of the following may initiate investigative and forensic involvement, assistance or coordination by CART members:
•The non-family abduction of a minor child (under the age of 18); or
•The abduction of a minor child with endangerment circumstances; or
•Any other abduction or missing child investigation that requires immediate response in order to protect the well-being of the child.

http://investigative.gbi.georgia.gov/child-abduction-response-team

In Jorelys' case, she went missing Friday late afternoon, police were called early evening.....CART not activated until.....MONDAY. They could have activated CART at any time, including Friday night.

Now it turns out JR was dead before police were called Friday night, and already in the dumpster, but the police didn't know that. She was a seven year old lost in the woods in the dark for all they knew. And they waited until Monday....

You got it! lifting him in prayer. My mother in law had Chrons's and almost died. She has and an ileostomy for 50 yrs. She is a member and past President of the South East UOA and Cancer Society. The woman has literally dedicated her life to the cause. Actually she and another friend were the two founding members of the UOA
(United Ostomy Association) chapter in Atlanta.

Sending healing thoughts to your friends son too 2Hope4. I have Crohns too, was diagnosed when I was 12 (I'm 42 now) and have had a few close shaves myself, I have an ileostomy too, since 1997. Crohns is horrible but we are survivors, doctors can underestimate our strength! (trying to convince myself as I think I may be in a flare, seeing my gastro next week, I'm terrified)

Sorry for the OT but I had to comment

For those who have followed cases like this for a while, I wonder how common it is for the perp to be one of the most vocal in expressing their sadness, or most involved in the search (really making themselves known, kind of thing)?

James wright issued a statement saying he hopes something positive can come from this tragedy.

WUT??? Your kid is DEAD. Nothing positive comes from a tragedy like this. It's devastating.

I don't agree. When tragedies strike we often see something positive coming from it even when we were attacked on 9/11. The entire country came together to support the families of those who had lost their lives. Even where it happened where sometimes people aren't that close came together and they became united and much closer.

Maybe he is hoping that now that he and his family has had to learn the hard way that other people will become for vigilant and check on their children more often and not to trust people just because you think they are harmless.

I have heard several parents over the years say the same thing that this father has said so I don't find it odd at all.

IMO

I am not sure how often it has happened but I do know it has happened in other cases. Not that they were vocal but some were always there at all PCs or at vigils and have even been known to search for the victim they actually had murdered.

Any links to VIDEOS of the vigil?

I'm not sure how common but 2 cases I have followed in just the last year

Alanna Gallagher. Tyler Holder attended the vigil for AG and was observed watching LE search the Gallagher home.
Reann Murphy. Jerrod Metsker made the 911 call to report her missing and helped search the trailer park for her.

I can't help think of similarities to this case, and my gut says it will turn out to be so

IMO

Melissa Huckaby with her report to police of a missing suitcase, giving note to police she 'found on the ground'.

Ryan Brunn went to the mother of the girl he just killed hours before and asked for a picture to be used to give police....and

Increasingly, Brunn told the court, he grew concerned about what he had done. So he took a receipt, wrote on the back of it, "She is in the trash can," and taped it to the compactor.

I think the person who killed Jenise was trusted by her family and potentially took advantage of the teenage brother being out of town, lives in the immediate community and lacks transportation aside from the Bus/bike, marginal intelligence and social capacities (frustrated and rejected socially/sexually), is publicly "grieving" and trying to look sympathetic to the family, possibly even attending the community vigils, behaving like a victim on social networking sites, etc.
I think LE knows exactly who he is but they are cementing their hard evidence and rock-solid case as we speak--and perhaps seeing if there is any possibility another perp was involved.

BBM

These behaviors remind me of the case( can't remember the name) last yr. in Northern CA. the 12 yr. old who stabbed his sister to death ( not sexually assaulted), and said he seen a intruder run from the house. He really blended in with the family's public appearances. I seen the public vigil pics after he was arrested, it was so eerie.

I believe if this killer is in this small mobile home community, whatever age, they are doing the same thing. I wonder if LE is taking pics of all vigils? JMO

How utterly horrendous to hear this :( To think at this young age, she learned how awful human beings can be to one another is just too terrible to contemplate .

I recall Mikele Biggs who ran in to get ice cream money when she heard the ice cream jingle. All that was found was her bicycle outside on the sidewalk, wheels spinning and her change on the ground. No Mikele. 1999.

I'm thinking this is someone she knew in the area, someone she trusted.

poor children :( http://deaniepeters-missingangels.blogspot.com/2013/07/mikelle-diane-biggs-missing-14-years.html

^^^i think of this every time I hear the ice cream truck.

(I never actually saw or heard an ice cream truck in person until a few months ago, so really the only knowledge I had of ice cream trucks was Mikele.)

What I find is when one of these horrors happens, people tend to think it is like a past crime and then assign similar things. For instance, when Somer Thompson was found in a blue bin, there were all kinds of people saying that Kyron was in a blue bin.

Rather what happens is that the killer has done something new because of their own sickness.

It does seem that the killers lately are involved in the searches and the vigils.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is DNA.

And if it is some kind of relative of a perp who has not given DNA, such as a child, the DNA will show up in the parent's sample.

I think that's the most promising aspect of the DNA samples: familial DNA being collected. However I wouldn't be so sure that the perp's family won't try to cover this up if this is a young person. JMOO as I've seen parents deep in denial refusing to see the truth of what is staring them right in the face.
