"She is suffering terribly, and really appreciates all of you!!

Here's the letter.

(Snipped for length...)

Appreciates everyone except me perhaps-glad she cleared up the dock thing, and good to know that BPD is showing some heart if they offered to let her know Joe is alive if he is ever popped on that warrant.

One question that just occurred to me is if Joe's last cell phone call was 1/4/06 around 4AM, and he was last seen by presumably a reliable witness on 1/5/06 but he was called in missing on 1/6/06, why so long to locate his car? The "approved" website indicates the car was located on 1/9/06 behind his favorite restaurant. Now I was under the impression that everything happened quickly-Joe was reported missing, his brother went to look for him with the friend Joe spoke with on 1/4 in the AM and that friend supposedly led Joe's brother directly to the car. And when they got to the car, other friends showed up....but clearly for all of this time I have had it wrong. And on top of that, I am so surprised that Joe did not use his cell phone regularly-IIRC it was found in the car, but he did not use it after the phone call on 1/4....yet he was seen up until sometime on 1/5.

I believe, you know I am your bud, but I do not believe (as Kathy doesn't) about the dock story- I am sorry Kathy got so upset, as Im sure a lot of false leads and stories probably anger her more. I know that was not your intention.

I cant imagine the pain that she must go thru having to rule complete strangers from morgues around the area , when her worst nightmare would for it to be Joe. From what I have read from the beginning, Joe was VERY close to his mom and family and didnt travel or go far without constant cell phone touch. IIRC< this is what allerted Joe's lil bro when he didn't answer his phone.

I apologize if I am bringing up inappropriate stuff here, but I believe that the group of kids he was with last have some if not ALL information about what happened that evening. From the MTGC to the folded laundry in Joe's car, something is NOT right!!!

I apologize, but I have following Joe's case from the start, and I know a lot of clues- Dont know which can be made public, but now that these kids are of legal age now, maybe we can dicusss it.

Deb, Maybe you can work with Kathy and maybe work on a time line from her?- Maybe we can help if we see it through someone (Kathy's eyeys). We have one published on an earlier thread, so if If you search, ye shall find- If you need help, holler!! :blowkiss:

The problem with this whole case is LE. I'm not sure if they're lazy, or perhaps just plain incompetent. A child goes missing, they find his car with vomit on the passengers side floor board, folded laundry on the passenger seat, money ($17 dollars) in the ashtray, and nothing stolen from the car. I read the link that was posted a few days ago that was written in 2006 about myspace, and that LE never told this family Joe committed suicide. LIES!!! LIES!!! LIES!!!

I think these kids (especially Cammy) know exactly what happened to Joe, and if LE had done their job we would have an answer to this mystery. Why weren't these kids all taken down to headquarters immediately and questioned? Age doesn't matter!!! If there's a missing person, and a possible crime, that's probable cause to question the last known people to be with him. Why wasn't that car processed with their forensics department? Why wasn't his apartment searched for clues? Why hasn't the chief of police once answered this family's calls? Why? Why? Why?

When I talk to Kathy and look into her eyes, full of sorrow and pain, not only at the loss of her son, but what LAW ENFORCEMENT has put her through it just makes me sick. What this case needs are REAL detectives with REAL experience!!! It needs somebody with authority to stand up and say........ you Bremington boys are off this case. Why won't the FBI step up??? The family has been to the FBI and got absolutely no help from them. Why? I'll tell you why, because BPD told the FBI Joe committed suicide!!! When BPD realized, oh gee, no body has washed up, the waters have been searched by divers, friends and family said Joe would never take his own life, or run away......maybe there was foul play:rolleyes:By the time they realized this, it was too late and they didn't want to make bigger behinds out of themselves, so they swept it under the carpet hoping nobody would notice.

So many other things have happened with BPD and this family. If I told you guys everything you would lose complete faith in our justice system.

Peace~Stay Safe

My bold and italics-first of all the story linked never indicated that the police NEVER told the family it was a suicide-as of March of 2006, BPD was stating on the record that they did not believe it was a suicide. A small thing perhaps, but an important distinction in us keeping our facts straight...JMO.

If we are to be of any assistance at all in helping to sort this out, then I would think that data dumping all that has gone on with BPD and the family is important to everyone being able to make an informed decision as to whether or not the case is being adequately handled. JMO. I know that the family has had some issues with the online community-I guess that comes with the territory when you go to the public for help in finding your missing son. It must be incredibly hard not to react to everything you read-but in a sense, people who are trying to help outside of the family are working in a vacuum because they do not have access to the information that the family has....the flip side is that they do not have the emotional involvement either.

Has the family hired private detectives at any point or had the car processed themselves? At one point I remember listing out state forensic labs that could handle processing the vomit. Where is the car now?

The article clearly states the BPD never told the family it was a suicide.

Quote from this article:

Pichler's mother, Kathy Pichler, says police told her off the bat that her son was a suicide. Police say they never said that.

Thank you for the correction-the article goes on to say:

"There were reports that investigators had found what amounted to a suicide note in Pichler's abandoned car. Police say those reports were incorrect. What police found, Davis says, was poetry.
And while the poem expressed an "I'm fed up" sentiment, Davis says, it wasn't a farewell. Sgt. Kevin Crane says the writing did not speak to Pichler's state of mind.

Detective Davis says police found "other documentation," in addition to the poem, but he won't discuss the "other documentation" in any detail. Whatever it is, it hasn't led him to the teenager"

So, what Kathy is saying is that BPD told her right off the bat it was a suicide. BPD denies that, at least as of March 2006. At least as of March 2006, it appears that BPD is not treating the case as a suicide.

So-can we move forward from this point because from where I stand everyone seems to be on the same page about whether or not it was a suicide.

So we have no sitings of Joe after January 5 yet his car was not discovered until January 9 behind what I was told was his favorite restaurant. In the car at the minimum was Joe's cell phone and money-someone also mentioned folded laundry. There is a report of vomit on the floor board on the passenger side in the front, right? His cards were in the trunk-there are conflicting reports on whether or not there were cards missing. There was some poetry and other documents that are not being mentioned...

Was the car there the whole time do you suppose? I mean, the car just sat there unlocked with these items inside of it for 4-5 days...so was Joe picked up from that location then? Did they ever question the staff at the restaurant to see if any of them knew Joe socially? Did he leave with someone from there, and perhaps that person didn't show up to work???

Im sorry, but this article is over 4 years old, and a lot of clues has surfaced since. Is there a way MS can activate or go back to see who made that MS acct? It looks like it is mocking Joe and from what I know of him, he would never call himself "McBadA**". That is derogitory IMO, and he doesnt seem like the type to brag about his fame. From what I have heard, Joe never wanted a MS acct, and Cammie is the one who made it for him. Look at it, it is slamming him left and right. HE NEVER WANTED A MS INTHE FIRST PLACE SINCE HE WAS INTERESTED IN IT, AND CAMMIE STARTED IT FOR HIM.

MySpace can provide the authorities with who opened the account, every deleted comment, or sent message right from the day the account became active. The phone company can also retrieve every single text, deleted or not. The problem here is the BPD, FBI, or perhaps the computer forensics department in BH needs to request these things in writing, or maybe have a judge sign off on the request. Here we are almost three years into this mess, and this has never been done.

Just for the record, the BPD DID tell this family their son committed suicide after the car was found, and they did NOT investigate this case until months later when the family blew their phones up, and raised hell because NOTHING the BPD said jived with Joe taking his own life. At first the family just accepted what the BPD said. Once they realized there was no way in hell Joe would do something like this, BPD avoided actually "investigating" what really happened. They have done NOTHING!!!! How hard is it to request MySpace records? Phone records? Computer Records? Not that hard, and living proof is the Casey Anthony case. The family cannot get these records, and if only the BPD would get on it, and actually do a little police work this case may be solved by now. :banghead:

Here is a bunch of media links from shortly after the car was discovered to the 6 month vigil. As a group they make interesting reading. As early as 1/16 Kathy was questioning why the car had been released, but also two massive searches had been enacted by then as well. The articles state that there were letters distributing items to family members, and Joe's brother and sister are interviewed regarding the content. I am wondering if any of the statements apply to the documents that BPD will not discuss. It is difficult to determine a timeline from the media reports however, because some of the information differs...like was the car discovered on 1/5, 1/6 or 1/9.

When there are two different stories, you have to decide who is telling the truth. I always figure the one that has the most to hide is most likely not telling the truth.

Dazz Deb,

Any word from Kathy on what is going on with People magazine? They seem like a pretty reputable magazine, as far as tabloids go, and I can't imagine why they would tell Kathy one thing and then not follow thru not just once, but two or three times now, IIRC.

I AM going to email them. but thought I would wait in case you heard something. :)

Hi Chico....I haven't really talked to Kathy that much. I've had a lot of drama going on in my life, and I don't want to lay it on her. Anyhow. I'm not sure what the latest is with People, but I will find out. Have a safe happy holiday!

Let me know if Kathy needs us to write emails to light a fire under their arse. Joe deserves NATIONAL media attention, and I cant imagine a reputable magazine such as People going back on their word. They do VERY extensive fact checking and arent "tabloidy" like some may think. Most , if not all articles are true stories about current events and life-changing events and heroes.
Joe deserves his coverage.
I dont know what an email would hurt?

Thank you for speaking to Kathy. Im sure she appreciates you. :blowkiss:

I haven't checked this thread for a while, but alas, I see nothing is new. No new leads or clues or anything. I just can't believe some of the simplest things have not been done, as stated above, particularly phone records, MySpace information and for God's sake, forensic testing on the car! How hard could that have possibly been? BTW, was the car ever tested for finger prints at all? Or was it just glanced at and released. And also, as ChicoGirl suggests, what would an email to People magazine hurt? Do we have to get permission from Kathy first or couldn't this be something that we can just do on our own? Anyone know? It would be great to get this case out there. And to some other magazine or TV show. Has any other national media been contacted or shown any interest? Is there anyone we can contact? (BTW, I'm sorry that Kathy took offense to what Believe wrote. I don't think she said or did anything objectionable or offensive, IMO). That poor woman is suffering so. I would hate to be in her shoes.

That's weird Elphaba. Must be the same people that made up Joe's MS account. Its eerie though, to see his pic with dates, AFTER his disappearance. Good find, though.
