Found Deceased WA - Leticia Martinez-Cosman, 58, last seen with man at Mariners game, T-Mobile Park, 31 Mar 2023 *arrest*

News segment from Fox 13 in Seattle, including a video showing Leticia at the baseball game with the Gitchel and photos taken by police of the injuries on his hands after his arrest.

Is it possible to see the court docs that they show in the video? I'm not having any luck.

What a strange guy he is. Was he trying to steal her home? Kidnap and kill the son and take over her residence, since he was recently evicted? Didn't I read that upthread?
I was thinking maybe he was trying to set the son up by making it look like he killed his mom, and then himself. I'm worried about the son no longer having his mother. I hope he has other close family.

Jeesh, I’m glad I don’t have to identify people regularly - he looks completely different to my eyes from picture to picture, and the sketch to me looks like an entirely different ethnicity (again, just to me!!).

What a scary man. I understand that the nonprofit aims to give people a second chance, but seems awfully risky to give the car thief a job as a bus driver. There had to be other options….JMO!!!

i have a speculation that he was what i call a "hobo seggxual" meaning a man who plays bf trying to get a place to stay. since he knew where she lived and about the son i bet hed been around her house before. he was looking for a woman who was either lonely or vulnerable. what a monster.

could be...since he is a felon renting would be difficult in Seattle, correct? I know some places will NOt rent to a felon in some states.

I haven't seen a link directly to the document itself. It seems they were showing their copies in the video, probably obtained through a records request to the police department.

Yes, for sure, and especially if he didn't have a job to show stable income from!

I knew of a few felons (an acquaintance of a friend situation) in the WA/OR area and they ended up homeless due to not being able to find work or an apartment.

That's probably where I got the idea! I'm not usually that creative with my theories. :D

It's, not a bad theory, he doesn't seem very stable and may have asked her if he could go home with her and she declined which turned into an assault/kidnapping/homicide.

snip:
On Dec. 12, 2022, Gitchel called a specific non-emergency line with Kittitas County and claimed to have hit his head, and that he was coming in and out of consciousness.

Officers arrived on scene before paramedics did to find the door slightly ajar. As they entered, there was no sign of Gitchel. However, as the police report later shows, Gitchel claimed to a neighbor in the apartment complex that he had hidden inside a ‘secret closet’ when police were inside his place looking for him.

Police then contacted family and Gitchel’s ex-girlfriend of nearly seven years. She reported to police that Gitchel had a known addiction to prescription drugs and meth.

On Dec. 14, a staff member at Central Washington University contacted Ellensburg Police and stated Gitchel had been in contact with the school and was in Alexandria, Virginia.

Gitchel apparently claimed to CWU staff he had "contracted a disease from pool equipment that infected him with nano-technology" and that he "was currently looking for the CIA headquarters."

Ellensburg Police then requested police in Virginia check on Gitchel, who was staying in an area Hilton hotel. Alexandria Police reported Gitchel was okay but "was just acting strange." Gitchel was removed as a missing person in Ellensburg.

Ellensburg Police then report the Secret Service reached out and requested more information on Gitchel. It’s unclear what came of this interaction or if a federal case was opened.

“There is no doubt that he has information regarding her disappearance, he tried to murder her son, a witness to her disappearance and he has destroyed evidence by burning Leticia’s vehicle after his failed plan to kill her son,” the charging documents state.

Gitchel will be arraigned on April 24.

SECRET SERVICE? Why would the SS be involved? This is getting even more bizarre each day!

There are similarities to this case as Diane Davis a few years earlier:
A single woman over 50, last seen at a store, then downtown near THE LUMEN FIELD (MARINER'S STADIUM) was meeting men on a dating app, disappeared, and her car was found burned.
What if she met up and went on a date with the same man and met him at a STORE like COSTCO?, or a DATING APP? Both were later found dead outside of Seattle.
I think it's worth a second look.

*from your link:

Tacoma detectives don’t have much to work with, but Nasworthy said the Washington State Patrol obtained partial DNA of a male on Davis’ remains whom investigators believe to be her killer.

Nasworthy said he’s hoping someone who knows which dating apps or websites Davis used will come forward. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

If it's Brett we should know soon enough. It scares me to think there are TWO different men out there with similar patterns in the same city, but it's entirely possible.
So weird, all of this it sounds like Brett is suffering from drug psychosis/delusions and is very dangerous. Her poor son, who survived...knowing his mother is not returning now.

SPD has now confirmed he was the man on security footage attempting to enter a home and stealing items from a shed on March 28, 2023. He also cut the internet to the cameras, and stole the cameras. You can see the video in this link, and he is wearing that same Mariner's jacket. Police have now filed a burglary charge against him for that.

This dude is a pure creeper. I wonder what he would have done if he was able to get into that house that night.

The full SPD police report on this incident can be read here:

wow. this guy is a criminal of all trades.

To think if SPD took the series of recent break-ins at COSTCO seriously he would have been arrested and not free to anyone.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Brett Gitchel, 46, with second-degree burglary Tuesday after he allegedly stole items from a garden shed and tried to break into a West Seattle home

In reports, police said Gitchel first entered without a mask on then noticed the cameras and came back with a medical mask on.

Documents said Gitchel is seen manipulating the camera before ultimately removing them, but a remaining camera captured a clear image of him.

Gitchel also reportedly cut the cable to the inside of the home.
The homeowner reported to police he saw Gitchel walking around the area the day before.

Jeff Brown, who lives near the home that was broken into, said he picked up on the resemblance between Gitchel and the burglary suspect after Seattle police posted a photo of Martinez and Gitchel together at the Mariners game.

"Thinking they finally connected the dots to the intruder in the one backyard and this, and its really sad that it has to be here," Brown said.
