Regarding hitchhiking, I checked with my husband, who for his work drives frequently from Wenatchee to outlying areas, mostly not far from Leavenworth, to assist with septic systems. One day he may head toward Peshastin or Stevens Pass. I also hear him mention a place called Plain, and the small towns of Entiat and Orondo....or he might go south of Wenatchee to Malaga.

I just asked him how many hitchhikers he's seen in the six years he's been doing this work and he said one.

Back in the day, of course, it was a more common sight, but I don't know that Travis would have had too much luck hitching a ride. I'm not sure what it's like in other parts of the country but around here I think people have been scared off for quite a while. It's always possible Travis found someone who helped him out with a ride but it would not be a common practice..

A lot of joined the military to just get away from what was going on where we were. Knew a soccer professional soccer player who hurt his ankle and couldn't play so just up and joined. My roommate was a designer and got into an argument with his family over the business and he ditched. Some people think they are escaping their problem (mental health issues), but they run and the problem is always there inside of them. Like people who are angry all of the time.(I went in because unemployment was really high at the time and I just wanted to get out of Dodge, so to speak. The military was a free ticket on a plane.)
I can’t say for sure, but it seems like he wanted to please his father & fall into the father’s foot-steps.

In this area, where TD is assumed to be, is there someone missing lately, who was on the move with a car? I expect TD to get a vehicle and in case of emergency kill the driver. After all, he has nothing left to lose. IMO

He certainly can't count on his father's forgiveness. That makes everything even worse. IMO

How I hope TD is captured or found before this Memorial Service.

Right!

I trust LE has exhausted this inquiry and we're just sitting in our armchairs.

But I hope LE has ongoing awareness of reports within a WIDE area of missing: a) people - campers and hikers in particular, b) cars / trucks / RVs, and c) bicycles / mountain bikes / dirt bikes / ATVs.

... starting from the days leading up to 5/30 if the murders were premeditated...

The search for triple-murder suspect Travis Decker is active in Kittitas County and deputies are asking residents and visitors to be on alert as the difficult operation plays out heading into next week.
WA deputies urge vigilance as Travis Decker search continues in Kittitas County

"We will not stop. We will keep going. He just has to make one mistake," Brown said. "Like the sheriff said, we will find him. He will be brought to justice so the community can heal."

Morrison issued a direct message to Decker, stating, "Every single day Travis is out there, he's going to have to aim for perfection. He is not going to be able to make a mistake because all we need is one mistake and one day to go in our favor and he's going to be in our custody. So I hope he's watching. I hope that he knows that we haven't given up, but you've got to be perfect every single day, Travis. We only have to be perfect one day.

Any new updates?

In the flight tracker for the last few days, there was some activity around Ellensburg but nothing that significant save for Friday. And, itching of note this morning yet.

I do not have a subscription so can't view the article, or verify the picture seen in Google search. For any subscribers, could you summarize what's in the article, please? And is this really his tent? I tried alternate ways to verify but came up with nothing. Thx!

Here is an archived version you can read.

I've camped at this particular campsite and the surrounding ones in the Rock Island campground. Travis had one of the better sites right on the river. The river flow can still be quite loud in May and can easily drown out noises. I know a lot of people here have been wondering how no other campers could have heard what went on that horrendous day.

What is very interesting about this DailyMail article is the photo of the bullet casing found. I haven't heard anything about this from the Chelan Co Sheriff.

According to that Daily Mail article, this is his tent.
I don't subscribe to the Daily Mail, but was able to read the article online. Here is part of it, not much new in the article, otherwise.

Exclusive DailyMail.com photos show those bags and zip ties have now been removed but a weathered orange tent and a blue cooler remain.

Former soldier Decker, 32, has been homeless since last Fall and the camp bears unmistakable signs of a lengthy stay, among them discarded leaflets showing Memorial Day deals from local grocery stores Albertsons and Safeway.

A log has been pulled up close to a recently used fire pit, complete with a small log pile, while the 32-year-old appears to have erected a makeshift lean-to next to a tree towards the back of the clearing.

They say so, but I’m wondering whether everything he had would have been taken into custody by the police?

Yes, I find daily mail a bit …. I say this because of reading some of their articles in other cases I have followed. How would they have gotten these pics?

Don't they pay for information? Someone connected to the case could have leaked them. JMO

For whatever reason, they always seem to have the best pics. I just don't always trust 100% of what they write. Hence me wondering if the pic of the tent was actually his tent, or someone else's tent somewhere in the campground he was in. I appreciate all the answers my post got. You all are awesome!

Definitely wouldn't be the first leaked crime scene photos by police. I'm not saying police intentionally leaked them but all it takes is one person connect to the case to share them with other colleagues, family, friends, etc.

Set up an old tent in a wooded area and take photos? IMO Daily Mail have been sold a bridge that doesn’t exist.

It doesn't seem leaked because the photos have the photographer's name as credit at the bottom of each of them. (However, I too suspect the actual authenticity of the photos.)

No police presence? Doubtful.
