Warren Jeffs FLDS compound in Texas surrounded by police #5

  • #421
This is very interesting. But he's not a sister wife who bore children within the sect. And it does not appear that the women benefit from the "common" monies stockpiled within the sect. Don't see any of them driving red Escalades, do we?

I know. I'm not exactly sure if this Wisan guy was supposedly representing FLDS and was claiming that Jeffs and others were siphoning money from the church or what.

Thanks, Molly!

I still want an FLDS For Dummies book!

And the first place you should send it is to the
Sister Wives of Yearning for Zion, Texas, USA!

Oh I'm quite sure they were siphoning money! But who is this guy and what is his affiliation to the FLDS? Anyone know?

Linas- I remember seeing that too, and when they realized they had been duped, they were PIZZED!

I think that was the interview on Dr Phil (hurl) with the mayor of El Dorado, and they included a flyover of the compound.

Ok - but I want to put money on it being "Jeff's" Road, Boulevard, Court.....whatever. Now that I think about it, shouldn't it be in the public records? Even the ownership of the compound should be in the country records. Right?
Oh, it is definitely in the pubic record. A person has to actually go into the bowels of a courthouse and search through the giant books and maps for themselves, however. There is no one in any courthouse who will look up that information and give it out. But it is open for anyone to do.

Maybe if we have anyone who is in real estate down there, can do a title search...

It's not on-line? What is this, the 1890's????

I would love to get my hands on an "FLDS Financial/Business Primer for Dummies"! Someone? Anyone?

When we get a forum...(hint! :D ), that will be my favorite thread!

The 'follow the money' aspect of this case is massive and will prove to be the key in taking down these criminals, in my opinion.

ITA Truly. There is LOTS of money and it's sources are far-reaching. They will need to answer for that - I hope!

Wisan was a former member I believe. He's been appointed as administrator, but I believe there is oversight by the state.

Do you happen to know the circumstances of his leaving the sect?

lol! I'm sure LE found the FLDS' copy of their deed buried in a safe under the bed in the temple!

I think it is a right to privacy/ open records rule. Yes, a realtor or Title company in Texas would be most helpful, Linask!

(I once discovered that LE are not allowed to do any search on the criminal records, etc. of an incarcerated inmate and give that out to the public, either. They can only tell the public that they are allowed to search for it themselves.)

Man-o-Manoshevitz (sp)-

If I were an 'Elder' male in this sect, involved in the 'celestial/spiritual marriage of young girls AND had knowledge of the inner workings of the finances, bleeding of the beast, and had played fast and loose with the law and IRS, I would be pooping bricks right about now! Maybe that's why Jessop has hired his CRIMINAL defense atty? Shoot, I wonder where the $ is coming from to pay him? and I wonder if Rod Parker would be such an advocate for these folks if all their assets were frozen pending an investigation?

If I were a polygamist pedophile lawbreaker, what would I do? I guess I'd get into a RED Escalade, drive to Mexico with a wig, Bermuda shorts, $$$, and a happy meal (maybe Taco Bell- run for the border?) and wait for the Mother Ship to beam me up, Scottie. I just hope the Feds catch up to them before the heavens open up. I'd be happy to use some of my own $ to help prosecute.

OK- rant over (for now!)

The property records for Mancos, Montezuma County, Colorado are by subscription only and Pringle, Custer County, South Dakota has no information online. Well, I tried!

Truly- I agree w/you about the $ bringing this whole thing down- Sadly, the abuses of children (that grow up to be abusive adults due to mind control, etc) is too convoluted for the criminal justice system to deal with, and not important enuff to persue (up to now).

Talk about violations of civil rights ......
If continuously brainwashing a girl that she's a second-class citizen isn't a violation of her civil rights, I don't know what is!

In that case, I'd say they need to start prosecuting people who violate the anti polygamy laws.

Until this case, I never realized how harmful polygamy can be for the boys and girls who are born into it.

Honestly, I do not care one bit what disbands the FLDS. The children, the money, the fraud. Whatever. It needs to be done.
