I would like to take a look at her hand for any scars. I don't think she broke her finger at all; IMO she had an untreated extensor tendon injury - even a small but deep cut can cause damage and you are left with a finger that will not straighten adequately. Most likely caused by a knife - she would not want to go to an ER with that injury for the obvious reason, to avoid documentation at the time, plus it requires surgical intervention....
She figured a broken finger sounds plausible and gives her another claim to her abuse story.

I was in a bad car accident a few years ago....my hand and arm ended up between the windshield and the air bag and the force of the airbag pushed my hand and arm through the windshield. i severed the tendons in my hand and ended up with pins and a plate in my arm I can't straighten my hand out, even after 8 months of PT. You might be onto something.

I was relieved when she said she wasn't going to talk to anyone, I thought she appreciated the gravitas of the situation. Then she shows up in court.
Now this? Can this affect the trial at this stage?

I'm seeing that a few posters are a bit skeptical about JM's cross on ALV. Has he let you down thus far? How many times have you heard TH's in the past boldly state the he was "in the weeds" only to see that he's a prosecutor who plants his seeds amongst the weeds and ends up blowing your mind? I'm not even talking about the fact that he's been doing this job for 3 decades - I'm talking about this trial! He had less than an hour on Thursday and he chose his path wisely. Do you honestly think he would be taking a risk or trying something new? He is there for a reason - a very deserving reason; he's the best man for the job and he knows exactly how to get justice for TA. All you really need to know about the TH's is that they wouldn't know the first thing about his enormous job if it canoed up their butts and lit a camp fire. Also, IMO, NG's "in-ear piece" is a wad of gum.

I've just been watching some of video of JM cross examining JA, when he was asking about the actual event, what happened after and the voicemail she left him (I'm not sure of the date, the video I'm watching doesn't have the trial date) JA starts to cry.....but if you watch, she never ever wipes her eyes..no tears at all. She tries to cover this from the jury with her hair and refuses to look up but it's so clear she isn't crying. I wonder if the jury noticed that she's faking? Even her body language looks off..

I agree. I think she tried to load something onto his computer. Either from her computer or from a disk.

I think Jodi has shown herself to be quite devious and would be shocked if she didn't try to do some snooping on his computer while he was asleep or when she would house sit or house clean. The way she fixated on the mini cassette recorders during her police interrogation was creepy and very telling. I expect major revelations when the computer forensics detective takes the stand during rebuttal phase.

Amen! Today they showed the opening statements on HLN. While Travis's injuries and the course of his death (as related by the ME) were being described by JM she tried SO hard to squeeze out a tear but couldn't do it. She grimaced and looked at the camera/ grimaced again, wiped her nose, looked bored and finally settled for a big frown. It was sickening but enlightening to watch..

Excellent points!! A persons first instinct in fight or flight mode would be to flee in JA's situation. She didn't have babies she needed to protect in the next room. She was free to flee from the naked man who had tenants and likely wouldn't have followed her past his bedroom door anyway. Not sure about Arizona but where I live, deciding to run into another room to get the weapon and coming back with it,rather than run away is all the pre-meditation needed. Gas cans, dye jobs, rented cars and turned off cellphones are just icing on the cake.

But she'd run before and he caught her! Lesson learned? Never run away!! It doesn't work!

(Even though this time he's wet, barefoot and naked, he will catch you!)

Laughable but that's pretty much what she said about why she didn't run away.
