Maybe it's a combination of things? I'm thinking that maybe MM was supposed to send JA a DVD of images to plant on Travis' computer. MM could have chickened out, sent a funky virus looking program instead. And during the forensic examination of the DVD, the author of the DVD showed up as MM. When confronted about it, he sold JA out. Just MOO... Or maybe I'm in a fog:floorlaugh:

I'm trying to go through and see everything that has been brought up about McCartney. I know Arias wanted him to tailor his testimony to support her Pedophilia story based on the Magazines. But here is more with this guy. I guess we will soon know...I hope it's a DOOZY!!

This isn't random questions and comments. These detectives get training in interrogation. There was a reason for everything he did. He kept her talking, he developed a rapport with her, and she went from denying ANY involvement to placing herself at the scene because of his patience.

That's a win. Just because she didn't't confess doesn't mean it was a waste of time.

Oh I know he seems very good at what he does, I just thought it odd that he would think she'd care about anything that he would want or like, that's all. :fence:

And that's why he's a homicide detective and I'm not. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

ITA!

LOL... and the voice mail she leaves Travis after she has brutally murdered him... huh?? :snooty: Cannot believe she thought she could dupe everyone - especially LE.

She may have gotten the idea for the voice mail out of Scott Peterson's playbook.....calling Laci after he'd dumped her body in the SF Bay? However, look what it got him.

Putting the camera into the washing machine, however, was priceless. Never did she imagine LE would be questioning her about the recovered photos.

:D

What would be the purpose? They could be awared a monetary compensation but she doesn't have any money.

If she's found guilty and gets the DP, the family won't file. If for some reason, she's acquitted and gets out, that debt will follow her wherever she goes. If she should ever buy a lottery ticket and win...the judgment can be executed against her. I know of a case where this has happened.

I just looked up Ryan Burns and he is now happily married with a family now! I am SO happy for him! So glad he wasn't snared into Arias's trap and he was able to get away from her. He seemed like a really nice guy. Good for him!

It's hard to prey upon the willing. I guess the psychopathic apple didn't far from the money grubbing tree.

I can't, at this point, bash her mother.
Keep in mind, I still can't find it in me to bash Cindy Anthony.
I have nothing but pity and sympathy for them both. I think they both tried their best and unfortunately never understood their children were born psychopaths. (No one else thought they were capable of murder, prior to them murdering) Not that it would have mattered. Ain't no fixing that brand of crazy.

How about the camera in the the freekin' washing machine?

:floorlaugh:

How about taking pictures while you are murdering someone? The queen of stupid. And then saying she wasn't there, even with the pictures. "It sure looks like me."

Well, if the jury's paying attention, which I think they are, they should find it very strange indeed that the ONE person on planet Earth who saw her bruised neck and who she told about the abuse isn't being called by the defense.

I was hoping he'd flip and JM could use him, but his name is hanging in the air in that courtroom, whether he's there or not.

I'm hopeful and sure that JM will do just that in his closing;point out to the jury exactly who the dt did NOT call, their complete lack of the corroborating evidence and credible witnesses to her Fairy Tale. imo , they presented Arias and her fictional testimony, her quite possibly doctored diaries, 2 highly paid summarizer/paraphrasers of her fiction, hostile witness friends of Travis who were taken out of context..plus an ex who is probably in fear of revenge. No proof or evidence of abuse or self defense imo

No....but it is easy to prey on the desparate.

Did the DV expert have access to her entire journal? Or just cherry picked pages?
Can't wait to hear her take on Jodi's musings after she slaughtered Travis.

I can only bash the mothers AFTER they have been shown/proven to be just as big of scumbags as their daughters. The only thing different is that they didn't murder anyone. I felt that Cindy Anthony just slapped little Kaylee in the face by supporting her killer. I have daughters, and grandchildren. And, if any of them ever hurt my grandchild, I would be there for the victim (my grandchild) no matter that the perp was my own child.

I think that was the only thing she could think of quickly. She seemed rather shocked...to me. Very hilarious

It would be a debt forever hanging over her head;) .... Unless she moved to Florida.

Civil law suits are expensive. They'd never get back even what it cost them to bring the suit. Not in her lifetime----which I have a feeling isn't going to be too long.:jail:

I think that guy has disappeared into the sunset. Juan was too sure when he taunted JA about MM being an ally. IIRC he asked her if she would be surprised he didn't support her story regarding the alleged neck bruising when initially interviewed by LE. Also he asked her if she was aware he stated he was willing to lie for JA.

Imo the guy has lawyered up, and not willing any longer to put his neck on the line for JA.

Katie said ALV approached Samantha after court was over. What in the world could she have to say to Travis's sister? If that is not allowed, I wonder what the consequences will be?

Sorry you had to go through that Sdavidson ((((Hugs))))
If the Dr Phil posting is true, which it probably is,it just makes my blood boil. I have been trying to get my courage up to post on the PTSD thread, as I also have it and what happened to Travis is what I thought was going to happen to me during my kidnapping and rape by an escaped inmate with an 18" butcher knife and our gun that he found in our house while he spent the day waiting for us to return from work. The problem with our justice system is until the perp is convicted they seem to have more rights than the victim.

I am sure Travis's family was told by JM not to speak to the media as it could cause problems while prosecuting the case, that is what we were told. Meanwhile they still have real life bills to pay house payment, utilities and insurance. For those of us that have to work once vacation days are used there is no safety net if you are a victim or family of a violent crime. JA on the other hand has a place to stay and food to eat. But because of her Travis's family has had their lives turned upside down and through no fault of their own have to spend money to see justice for their brother. May God bless them and hope this trial ends soon with Justice for Travis.

Snakes in Suits is another good one.:seeya:

'Without Conscience: The Disturbing World of Psychopaths Among Us' is another.

I've wondered about that. Maybe if they wanted to file one, they have to wait until after the criminal case?

Sorry if this has been discussed already but I think the statute of limitations is 2 years after death. Found this link re Arizona law, hope it's ok to post. A resident legal eagle can hopefully weigh in :)

bbm

"A wrongful death action must be filed within two years of the death, or it will be forever barred by the statute of limitations. In some cases, especially those involving claims against government agencies, claims must be presented in a much shorter time period."

ITA, same author I think too isn't it? He developed the PCL, used by LE today.

Do you really think the family would want to be in court with her again to try to get some money? For her, winning the lottery will be if she isn't sentenced to death.
