I'm not sure the proper thread for this. But I've been doing a lot of research and documenting behind the computer stuff, TA's "how did you get that info"... etc. So here goes:
Truly hope the rebuttal list DOES include Robert Brown (computer forensics, Mesa PD). Unconfirmed, I think.
In JA's interrogation tapes, she indicates her external hard drive “just quit” (prior to the murder); no money to repair.
Video 14; Unedited Police Interrogation Videos of Jodi; Transcript by G&AMom (Thank you!!) post #1008
“Jodi: Yes, we had sex a couple of times. Once in his bedroom, one downstairs in his office and he . . . . He was looking at some pictures that I brought for him but he has a virus on his computer so when he clicked the Start menu on Windows XP or Windows 2000 or whatever, and you have, like, My Pictures, My Music, My Computer, you can usually click on My Computer and then go into the disc drive and open that. He clicked the window and that My Pictures, My Music, none of that would come up, so he had some kind of virus he was dealing with.
His screen saver was just a bunch of bugs eating up the screen and he said it that is from the virus, too. I said, that’s a cute screen saver, and he said, yeah, it’s my stupid virus. For some reason that was frustrating for both of us because we couldn’t look at the pictures, which were from a lot of our church history trips which are on
my other external drive which I haven’t been able to access for a long time, since after Christmas because it just quit and I just haven’t had the money to spend to get all that stuff back.”
“Flores: So you guys worked with that for a while or . . . ?
Jodi: Yeah, we had three discs, I think.”
I believe this incident later turned into the ‘JA threw the “scratched” disc, it hit me in the head, and he bent me over in anger.’
There is probably a little truth in this. In the May/June 2008 period this “bug eating screen” virus was rampant. It was actually a “Trojan,” sitting on a computer as a backdoor to access:

“Some users can get this type of infection from installing fake video codec’s (such as Flash Activex Object Error, Video ActiveX Object, Video Activex Object Error) which could help to display video. These codec’s actually install Trojans (like Trojan Zlob) onto a user's computer. In this way, they open a backdoor for all kinds of malware, spyware and even viruses to gain access to the user's PC.”

Exhibit 419 – Encase report of the Internet history. Objection to it being introduced; I hear the word hearsay and the lawyers approach. It is a limited number of pages. The report is potentially longer than 1000 pages. The objection is overruled and the report is admitted.
There was also an external drive that was initially broken. He got it in October 2012 with a bag of parts. He received a mirror image the following month. Due to the damage, he had to do a lot of extra work to retrieve information. Not all sectors were recoverable. Some of the information was photos.
He can’t always get the dates they were taken for all of them.
This external drive (and the pix on it) were at the center of pre-trial evidentiary hearings. This article was originally posted in Nov 20, 2012. The DT has repeatedly complained about access to the hard drive

Okay. My point. Or points (all IMO):
1) JA installed spyware on TA’s computer, by way of a file or via direct infection before she moved to Yreka
2) TA’s “name the person who told you this” (late May, a week before his death) rant was a result of realizing she had access to his computer, emails, personal/banking communications (the Trojan was beginning to make itself apparent)
3) TA’s anger (and I think this is true) as they ‘tried to view pictures’ was a result of his pushing JA’s face into the truth of the infection: he’s proving he knows his computer is infected and that she spied on him
4) On the other hand, there’s this: How did they access and successfully view videos at 4 am … only to find a ‘screen eating’ virus at --- what? – noonish?
5) Also: JA’s external drive didn’t “just quit” … it was purposefully busted into pieces. Why?
I hope JM addresses these questions during rebuttal
