John Ramsey recalls trying to shield his son from media coverage

"JonBenét Ramsey: Inside the Mystery" also featured the first TV interview with Burke, now 28, who said he has moved on since the tragedy."

Heyy IP,

So the DP article is incorrect.

Watching AS, I had thought that the protruding tongue had not made an appearance, or was successfully edited out of the piece, but @ 40:58 it protrudes and retreats as his latest wife sits down on the chair beside him.

White Canyon was originally a division of an Australian company.

It was sold to a Canadian company in 2011.

Durn it, I can't find where I saw read or heard on a video where it was either Michael Helgoth in post #1145 video or the person they thought could have been his accomplis in the murder of JB had a tee shirt that said Santa Barbara Tennis Club on it and those are the initals at the end of the ransom note - S.B.T.C.

No one is denying anything, Andreww.

At the end of the day, the sample met CODIS standards, and was accepted by CODIS and is used by CODIS.

Wasn't that the second sample that was useable and it wan't even tested until 3yrs after JB's death.

Someone said we need to be careful of our sources and I know that's true I have read at least two maybe three different on certain points. For example, it's been said the Ramsey's were indicted by a grand jury.

Here's a source that says they weren't:

"Boulder police worked almost single-mindedly to try to prove they killed their daughter, JonBenet, but a grand jury failed to indict the Ramseys -– in large part because of one critical piece of evidence. It was the unexplained male DNA in JonBenet's underwear."

SBTC? "Most importantly, she said that at one time Chris Wolf had been given a sweatshirt with the initials SBTC (the signature on the ransom note), which stood for Santa Barbara Tennis Club." (Quote from Ramsey & Ramsey (2000) in Carnes 2003:76-77).

Is there any more of this interview available? I remember coming across a clip where they tell her they think she did it and she says she didn't do it and she isn't covering for someone who did.

Hey, InstantProof. I tried to post a new thread yesterday providing a link to download the Barbara Walters special and have been waiting for it to be approved but it hasn't yet. Here it is. It's 140 MB and around 40 minutes long so it may take a while to download. To anyone who clicks the link, please let me know if there are any problems downloading it!

ETA: Whoops, you meant the interview with Tom Haney. :blushing: Nonetheless, I'll leave the link to the American Scandals episode.

Wasn't that the second sample that was useable and it wan't even tested until 3yrs after JB's death.
The first panty blood spot was tested using the 13 CODIS markers in 2001. Kolar doesn’t mention this sample. IIRC, one marker was identified.
The second blood spot was tested in 2003. The result then was 9 and a “½” markers. I don’t remember what year the 10th marker was identified and the profile accepted by CODIS.

Did they have DNA testing in 1996 and if so why was the panty evidence not tested until 2001?

“Hell hath no fury...”

The owner of the sweatshirt that allegedly had the initials “SBTC” on it was Chris Wolf. It’s a long story about him, but essentially he had a girlfriend (Jackie Dilson) he was about to breakup with. I’m sure you know how it goes when a relationship goes south -- especially if at least one of the persons has “issues”. Anyway, the only reason Wolf was ever looked at as a suspect is because this about-to-be-jilted girlfriend called police with stories about his “acting suspicious” after JonBenet’s death. She threw in that he owned a pair of hiking boots and that he had a sweatshirt that had the initials “SBTC” on it. (What she didn’t mention is that the boots were not Hi-Tec and the sweatshirt was a gift she had given him.)

But nevertheless, he was looked into as a suspect. The RST picked up on this, had their own hired PIs investigate him and feed info on him to BPD, and they even named him in their book (Death of Innocence) as a suspect. He sued them for libel (Wolf v. Ramsey) resulting in what you will see referred to as the “Carnes Decision”. That is too much to go into here, but as you read about this case you’ll see references to it.

Here is what he claims from an article that was published originally at Boulder Weekly (http://thewebsafe.tripod.com/04132000wolfarticle-bw.htm):

-Wolf's girlfriend had given him a pair of hiking boots prior to the murder. Lou Smit, a detective who worked for District Attorney Alex Hunter and now for the Ramsey's, said a hiking boot print in the basement is evidence of an intruder the night of the murder. But the boot print was left by a Hi-Tec brand boot, and Wolf's boots are Danners.

-Wolf's former girlfriend said she had given him a sweatshirt that had the initials "SBTC" on it, which is the organization identified as the responsible party on the JonBenet ransom note.

"She said it was from something like the Santa Barbara Tennis Club, thus SBTC," Shapiro says. "When she saw those letters in the ransom note, it added to her suspicion of Chris."

But Wolf says the shirt did not say SBTC.

"It was Santa Barbara something, but it did not end in 'TC.' I can't remember what it said, exactly, but it wasn't SBTC," Wolf says. "Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore or I'd show it to you."

Additionally, I should tell you that the video linked in Post #1145 is one of three videos produced by someone named Michael Tracey. Tracey (you might see him referred to as “Bucky”) was a Ramsey sycophant who has been for the most part completely discredited. His three videos are usually called “crockumentaries” here at WS and elsewhere. You might also know Tracey as the person responsible for getting the John Mark Karr debacle started.

Also, any information that comes from Ramsey PIs John San Augustin and Ollie Gray should be carefully scrutinized. To this day they continue to talk about things that have long since been dismissed by investigators.

Tex, look at the date of the article you linked. It is December 16, 2004. The True Bills that were voted on and signed by the Ramsey Grand Jury never became an Indictment because the District Attorney (Alex "Let's Make A Deal" Hunter) refused to sign it (as Colorado law stipulates) and present it in open court. His statements deliberately misled the public into believing that the RGJ did not vote to charge anyone. It wasn't until 2013 that the TBs became publicly known because of a lawsuit by reporter Charlie Brennan. He was represented in his lawsuit by University of Colorado Law Professor Marianne "Mimi" Wesson.

But there is so much more in that article that is just wrong...

Sorry, I don't have the time to get started on it, but read my previous post about Gray and San Augustin.

I have it on excellent authority (SIL) that my brother still leaves stained underwear about the house, age 53, self made millionaire. Cant wipe his butt properly to this day.
I don't know how many people have heard a certain old joke, but when I read this post, I couldn't help but think about its punchline, "I don't believe I'd've told that one."

Hmm. Might not be her last interview with JR after all. :D

Ok, that does it, quest! You're getting the bill for cleaning spewed coffee from my keyboard and monitor.

Thanks to tadpole I now have access to the Wolf vs. Ramsey trial. There are more twists and turns to the JB thing than Christmas ribbon candy :notgood:! I thought the San Augustin and Ollie Gray video was where I got it that the tee shirt stood for Santa Barbara Tennis Club and now I just found out it could stand for Strangle Bind Torture children, also it was Augustin and Gray that claim they got boots that belonged to Helgoth that were the Hi Tech brand.

Gonna check out www.BobEnyartMurderedJonBenetRamsey.com

Somewhere I read that in 1996 there were at least 25 pedophiles living within 25 mi. from the Ramsey's. If JB was the target of pedophiles it would have been easy for them to find where she lived since the pageants she was involved in were probably on the news as the local kid makes good and unless the Ramsey's had an unlisted No. anyone could have looked in the phonebook and found her address.

Thanks for your reply.:tyou:
