Yep- that's ANOTHER thing the Rs were given a pass on. NO one questioned the need to have Aunt P raid the house for "funeral clothes" when the Rs said that their clothes were donated by a local department store. I can see their wanting to have a pageant dress for JBR. After all, they wanted her to be forever a beauty queen, and to have America remember her that way. But that certainly wouldn't fill a patrol car. One dress on a hanger, tiara and shoes. That's it.
Sometimes I think that PR almost didn't mind having an eternal beauty queen that was dead rather than a former beauty queen who grew up to be either rebellious enough to want to stop or (horrors) not "beautiful" enough to win. She got to quit while she was ahead, in a manner of speaking. (Did that sound too harsh?)

Right, one or two distraught but otherwise normal and even "savy" adults, strangle, beat and fingerbang the still warm corpse of their beloved daughter and manage to do it in such a way that some pathologists conclude the strangulation came first. Then they write a note with a ransom amount that contra-indicates a kidnapping for ransom.

yes,PP did retrieve the passports,as well as their personal mementos..which says to me they were seriously thinking of leaving the country..part of PP's real reason for the raid on the house,and not just for 'funeral clothes',(which of course they got from a dept. store anyway).They even contradict themselves on this in DOI.

No that is not it till it has been proven in a court as far as I am concerned at least Not Till every one remotely associated has been convicted of their part in the death of JonBenet It Will never be over. If Patsy is guilty or in part Convict her and Let her Tombstone reflect the truth at least let the WORLD know the truth. Nothing else would be Justice . If Patsy is innocient let the Truth be spoken equally No one wants a travesty of justice. We do however need to have a trial and conviction or acquital You and I would not agree on who would be guilty good enough reason for a trial for me!!

Their Summer vacation in Spain was after the world knew about them. Where would they hide. Doesn't count.

I do believe Patsy did it and I also do believe this case is for all intents and purposes closed. John will never be brought up on any charges unless Burke goes directly to LE in Boulder, or anywhere, and tells them he witnessed all the events that night and informs them of Johns role in all of it. Even then they would have to tie the evidence in to what Burke says, they wouldn't just go on his word. So IMO it all rests with Burke. What are the chances of that happening?? Good to "see" you again Seeker!

I am also unclear as to when and how JR was able to reach Melinda and her fiance. They were supposedly already en route to Charelvoix by the time JR cancelled his flight that morning. So how did he reach them and how were they able to re-route themselves to come to Bloulder instead of Charlevoix? I assume they also privately, and so the answer would involve the fact that those private pilots did not need to file a flight plan.

I think I recall reading they were able to reach them in Atlanta b/f leaving for MI,and they diverted their flight to CO at that time.Remember there is the time delay to account for.(pardon,in retrospect,I think I recall it was where they were supposed to meet up w. them originally,which was the first stop from Atlanta).
Of course,if JR truly thought it was a KN,then why would he knowingly bring the rest of the family into such a situation?He wouldn't.He simply needed them there to vouch for what a great father he was,and he knew they would tell LE he could never have done it.
That leaves the problem of 'finding' the body,better done before they arrive.And so it goes.JR took advantage of the instruction to search the house.

Actually, of the body had NOT been found, and police were still investigating a "Kidnapping" instead of a murder, the Rs may very well have been allowed to leave. It would have been surprising, if not shocking, that they were willing to leave the state with their daughter missing, but legally I don't think there would be reason to prevent them from leaving.
JR never figured that when the body was found in the house, that the residents of that house would be suspects, even if there was a RN.

It would have seemed odd,though,if at least JR hadn't stayed behind to wait for any possible contact from the 'KN's',and to search for her or her body.

Oh yes........the trip to Spain......and they explained that away with another lie - but I know that it was for a financial reason....or so I've been told by a very reliable source!

Since I am not in a position to give complete confirmation, I have to just let it ride at that. Jaleo was the excuse given......but just maybe they were looking for a financial institute outside of America........that didn't pan out either as they also read the press in Spain.

OK,thanks,I see.Sounds like they were seriously considering leaving the country,which is what I'd thought from the way JR said it in DOI (obvious excuses for what had been said about it).
