For the record, when I use that term, I am definitely not making light of her sexual abuse. I only use the quote in certain discussions because its a genuine quote directly from the family. I actually think its one of THE sickest things they have ever said. I do realize it almost trivializes it because like you said, it makes light of it even though none of us are intending to do so.It is harmful to the truth to perpetuate the myth by making light of JBR being a "little bit" sexually abused.
I think she was murdered because she was abused or in the least played a major role in how events unfolded. The way you worded that made me realize the term should probably be removed from our Ramsey vocabulary as its disrespectful to the victim.
I'm going to stop using it during those discussions.
With social media, like Instagram and Facebook, and the makeup industry becoming so huge (all the YouTube tutorials, for instance), I would not be surprised if there are parents who have their very young daughters in JonBenet-esque photos on those platforms just to get "likes".
That's pretty much a guarantee. Crazy world we live in. Back in 96, people were outraged when seeing her pageant photos. Ten years later, reality shows about them are some of the most popular shows.
