Why is Adam Baker not in jail?

Adam Baker must be feeling pretty cocky at this stage with being arrested then bailed out. I think LE have him right where they want him and he's not going anywhere, LE know that and Baker knows it - Baker has no where to run to. I think LE are doing a cautious and thorough investigation because they want to nail his and throw the book at him. There's a reason the police chief was nearly crying at that press conference and I don't think LE will let him get away with anything. Eventually he will be charged.

I don't understand since it was AB who called 911 and said his daughter had been kidnapped...I truly believe that he knew darn well his daughter was not missing, so why has he not also been charged with Felony Obstruction of Justice, we know that EB was charged with that for admitting she wrote the ransom note, now you have the other parental figure who actually made that call so I would think that is a Felony charge they could have him jailed over.

They probably believe he knew she was dead as well but as long as he maintains his story how do you prove that?

She admitted to writing the note, that is all the evidence they needed there for an indictment.

If he says he believed the note was written by kidnappers when he made the call it is a pretty defendable charge.

I agree!!!
We will never get true answers if he does a suicide.
Also he is the most hated man in the area, wonder if someone does him in?
No truth again!
I want both these people to pay for what they did to Zahra.
AB is as guilty as EB.
They both are partners in all their crimes from bad checks to threats and now murder!!!

I suspect it is coming soon. I think I rather have him out there wondering and sweating it out for the time being. They know every move he makes. I just hope that he doesnt kill himself before they can arrest him and make HIM suffer for the rest of his life

MOO all they really have on him specifically comes from unreliable source (EB) and the sad fact that he claims not to have set eyes upon her for several days.

I think LE is attempting to locate Zahra, so they can determine his level of involvement, and then, if they can find evidence of such, you can bet your bippy they will be charging him.

We all want action, but mostly we all want it to stick - yes?

Maybe so that LE can watch any moves and/or reactions as they progress with their searches and as the case develops?

Rather than have AB in jail with a Defense attorney talking for him and advising him maybe LE is better served to watch and maybe even tap his phones. He isn't going to get far if he tries to run ... so is basically on house arrest.

My personal feeling is that LE simply doesn't have enough to charge him. Yet. And he's already lawyered up. It was easy with EB, she wrote the stupid note. IMO, if she hadn't done that, she too would be wandering free. For the time being.

I'm 100% convinced that we will soon see AB arrested, once LE has the evidence needed to do that.

If you were setting on a jury with just what weve been given about AB at this point would you convict? You have to delete any info you have about EBs alledged abuse on Zahra. You have to pretend you dont know anything about ED and the situation that took Zahra away from her. The only information the courts would give you is specifically about AB. With that much information could you convict?

I really am looking for LE to arrest AB when the DNA results from the bone marrow test is finished if it is confirmed that the bone found belongs to Zahra. IIRC, there are posts in threads where AB has contradicted himself on video. LE has requested video from everytwhere to be turned in to them.

What really makes me physically sick as well as infuriated is that one bone and some evidence was found at the Christie Road search site. If this is Zahra's bone, then where are the rest?

AB already has a lawyer, so he may have already been told to keep his mouth shut. I would like to see AB arrested on the same charges Casey Anthony was first arrested on. Then upgrade those charges to murder charges when the forensics are back.

I do not mind coming right out and saying it - I want to see EB and AB charged with murder.

In answer to your question, No. I could not convict him for murder on just what I know at this point. I agree with you, that this is why he's not in jail. It's also possible that they are waiting on a GJ decision. In some states, they can't charge a person without going before a GJ first. Not sure about NC.

As for the biomom, I don't think that will have anything to do with this case once it goes to court, unless she is called to testify about any abuse by AB. She really had nothing to do with Zahra's death, and had not seen her for years, so I doubt anything she could say would matter at this point.

I am going out on a small limb here - just my personal feelings here, ok - I don't think he had anything to do with her death.
1-the 911 call where he says " how are you" or something instead of "hello or hi", a lot of people have been reading something into that. Maybe it's how they talk in Australia. People usually say some sort of greeting.
2-And when he says this in the 911 call: "And my daughter is I think's coming into puberty.. cause she is hitting that brooding stage (laughter) so we only see her when she comes out when she wants something. And that's about it" - I think that is what he was told by his wife, as an excuse for why Zahra isn't out of her room. He doesn't appear to be someone that would ever use the word "puberty"
3-EB's daughter spoke at her bond hearing and said she was afraid of her mother, didn't say "I'm afraid of them or him too"

It's just a feeling or intuition thing but this man seems simple, to put it a nice way, uneducated. I think he worked long days, came home from work, Zahra wasn't seen and he was told by EB that she's pouting or something and in her room and doesn't want anyone in her room and/or has become very shy and modest - so don't bother her. I think EB had her locked in the attic at there house or drugged her and Zahra slept all the time. There seems to be truth in lies sometimes so this recent bs about Zahra being ill the last two weeks of her life might be true in the sense that she was over drugged or starved by EB.
Now after the fact, AB's involvement, I haven't a thought although having said that I don't think he was involved.
Please don't go off about this, it's a hunch

IMO He just hasn't told his mommy the truth yet. So he's still going through the motions of pretending to care where she might be, by sticking that stupid sign on the back of his truck. He probably seriously believes that he's not going to be re-arrested too.

Those pesky drugs can do that to a mind.. I guess.
