Why is Adam Baker not in jail?

At the very least, he should be arrested for filing a false police report (the staged 911 call). I just don't understand why he is not in jail. I just don't get it.:banghead:

JMO I would assume that they would have to have some sort of proof that he knew he was giving a false statement at the time. Either they dont have that or arent ready to reveal it yet.

True, I hadn't thought of that...either way, after his charges are done with in NC, if he is here on an expired Visa, he's on his way back to Australia, IMO..

I had a coworker who married a guy from the Dominican Republic. They have two children together and married in the US, he's lived here for a very long time...he was arrested for having a gun in his vehicle, was given a year in prison. When he was finished with his time, Homeland Security was there to meet him, placed him on a plane and headed him back to DR and cannot return to the USA for 20 years...So, I suspect this will happen with AB as well...JMHO

AB's not in jail yet - but the reporter, Rad, of WCNC, tweeted that AB was at HPD this p.m...he also said there's no word about charges filed ATM

Actually read that AB was at the station speaking to/being interviewed by LE for about an hour and the was allowed to leave.

Ugh - TY, kalekona - I guess I want someone to be held responsible & locked up ASAP...guess I'll just have to keep trusting LE that they have a good handle on this case & don't want to do anything that would impede justice for Zahra.

What wasn't reported about AB's visit was what his mood was and how he looked when he Left the station. That could have told us a lot.

The evidence has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Chapel Hill. From there it will be sent to the State Bureau of Investigation's lab for DNA testing, according to the station.

I dont understand it either and it really eats at me. I feel he will be arrested once evidence comes back testing positive for Zahra...like the items they removed from the house. You can bet they are watching every move he makes. I have a feeling he is already pointing the finger at EB.

This is how that meeting went I bet:

AB and attorney come in, escorted to interrogation room. They are left sitting there for a bit of time, maybe 45 min.

Detective comes in, lays down some info they have, and ask AB if he would like to make a statement, AB stated no..they left.

When is AB's court date for the lesser charges on him? Is that coming up? If so I think this is why the DA requested a rush on the DNA processing. Once his court date comes up, and he is fined but not jailed for his crimes, or put on probation, I believe that he will be deported. MAYBE, this is in play...just maybe

I tell ya, it's eating at me too. Every time evidence is discovered I'm thinking this is it, AB will be arrested and then nothing. I thought for sure it would happen today after yesterdays discovery. But still nothing!

Does anyone know if LE would need a warrant to arrest AB? I'm at a loss that AB and his attorney were at the police station today and then were allowed to leave. If a warrant is needed for an arrest maybe it will be in the middle of the night without as many watching/reporting eyes ?

Yes, I think (and I sure hope so if he's guilty) AB will be an old man by the time he sees Australia again. Or he may die in a US prison and never get back there alive just like his child.

I think if she had gotten medical treatment, she wouldn't still be using the prosthetic leg she got years ago in Australia. No way would a doctor not find a way to get her a new leg. It can cause all kinds of long term musculoskeletal problems to grow up on an ill fitting prosthetic leg.

I completely agree with you! I have noticed in Zahra's pictures when she is standing that she leans on her right leg and it "appears" that she has all of her weight on her right leg. I am wondering if this was due to an ill fitting, too short/small, prosthesis.

A poster early one in the general discussion threads (I am sorry I don't remember who it was) stated they have a child with a prosthesis and they require 4 new fittings a year.

I believe that Zahra had no medical insurance, had no primary care physician, no proof of citizenship, no one advocating for her, and she suffered from medical neglect at the very least. I am still of the opinion that Zahra died from systemic organ failure because those symptoms mimick a "virus". I don't know why I believe anything that EB has stated yet, but this one line has some "ring" of truth to me (in my gut). I think CPS was waiting for the family to enroll her in school (since there were no independant eyes on this child over the summer - ie: teachers/doctors), whe the family took her out of school they did that deliberately to make sure no one would find her or even know about her after the new move.

I have nothing to back this up - but to take this whole discussion back to topic - there is no way AB could deny watching his child die. I think EB was a punitive parent who wanted Zahra to not only be punished but also be "hurt". Just my opinion.

Actually I'm surprised that AB didn't want to be kept in jail for his own safety............
I'm thinking of a nut shooting him.........and then we will never have answers!
