I admire you and anyone else who can muster up support and or empathy for these people. I respect that you can do it.

I cannot and will not condon their actions by giving them a pass in the form of sympathy or empathy.

I hate that my heart is hardened to the idea of 'forgiving them for the know not what they do' yet or having more empathy for them - but for me, I need just a glimmer of remorse and responsibility of what this horrible journey's lesson should have yielded by now. When they move in that direction, then I will have a half a drop of respect in which to build empathy from.
That is just where I am - and I did think three years ago that by this point we would have seen some movement toward giving the lesson meaning. (Yes, I am one of those terribly spiritual folks that thinks there is meaning even in pain - actually the hardest lessons, IMHO are spouted in pain.)
((But from pain, comes the most rewarding and most beautiful lessons, such as forgiveness -- thus, my angst still on the eve of trial.))
(((GA and CA if you are reading here - it is time to give up the half-truths, they are not working for you or anyone, IMHO.)))

Can't we try to eek out just a little empathy for the position the Anthonys are in? They are victims of Casey too. They are not charged with any crime.

They loved too much, trusted too much and believed too much in their only daughter. Haven't they suffered enough for that, by Casey's own hands?

I feel the same way,my heart brakes for them. I can not begin to imagine their pain.

I think CA is missing because she choses to support her daughter...When she found out that she was not working for 2 years...what Grandmother doesn't realize that her child has not worked in 2 years & lives at home has not figured out that her daughter has no job...steals everyone's money...Where did Casey take Caylee everyday when she left for close to 8 hours to go to work....this child suffered everyday of her life...& she was unable to speak out...Caylee was probably grateful to be away from her Mom ...that is the only time she was not dragged to parties & her Mom's craziness...I think the fights with her Mom was only one of the reasons to get rid of her daughter...I think the main reason was that Caylee was learing to talk & could tell other people the truth of what her life was like...Her Mom was cold hearted & a killer & I sure hope that baby will get some Justice...Her Grandmother just refuses to make sure Caylee does...This world is sad...when no one but strangers love a child enough to make sure that they have a final work.

Its certainly not that I support any of their actions since they discovered their daughter murdered their granddaughter. I most certainly do not! In fact, many of their actions have been illegal.

What I would like to support is their acceptance of the truth, their love for their granddaughter and hopes they would advocate for her.

I would support their life post-trial as they come to understand the devastation to their family and hopes that they would be able to recover. ( if they don't get arrested...which I think they will not because I think Orlando LE also gets their awful predicament).

I would support their dawning awakening at how so many people wanted to help them and maybe they could someday receive this and maybe even thank them. But it could take a while.

I would support them in that they have had a horror in their lives that none of us here have endured and really could not have predicted and therefore have absolutely no appropriate coping skills for this horror.

But yea...I hear ya...

I feel not one speck of pity for that band of liars, and, manipulators.:banghead:

IMO, Cindy did not go to Clearwater because it is a 200 mile round trip each day, of which, gas is high and the days were long in court. I also feel Cindy does not have the money to be able to stay at a hotel every night as well as eating three meals a day.

I figure George must be working as well as Lee.

I have debated since the beginning of the jury selection of starting a CA and GA support thread. A thread that would show that all of WSers are here for their granddaughter and the truth. A place where we could all acknowledge their love for Caylee. We all have seen their actions in support of their daughter and I would guess most of us disagree. None of us would want to be or even understand what it is like to be in their unspeakable shoes.

But, I am sure we could all agree that at one time they loved and doted on Caylee. I would love to send them my concern and prayers as the truth draws nearer. (I do not think of any of us here at WS are into bloodsport and would delight in the destruction of their daughter).

But, still, I have been afraid to start this thread.

I agree. I love my daughter and no matter what it's unconditional. I can't imagine how any of us would be able to lose a beloved granddaughter and then get hit with the double whammy of losing a daughter as well...and not be caught up in the emotions and tug of war this has to be causing. Cindy and George loved that baby...it was so obvious from all the videos and pics...Cindy especially. No matter what she does my heart will still bleed for them both and the extraordinary loss they're going through. My thoughts and prayers go out to them both.

I agree that she may have been advised not to attend by her atty, OR that it was just too much of an expense for her right now. I am sure we will see a lot of her in the coming weeks.

IMO because it was for jury selection, not a hearing, not the trial.
Why would Cindy be there, she would have to stay in a hotel room, they are always crying poverty.
I would also think it was on the advice of her attorney, it wouldn't really look good for the Mother of the accused, in a death penalty case, to be sitting in on the jury selection.

I really believe that CA would have gotten her hotel room paid for by ABC!

It would be ridiculous and surely not advised for Cindy or the family to be at jury selection. Cindy made the 911 call, and they will all be asked questions during the trial. It wouldn't be appropriate at all.

well i was half joking when i stated in another thread that perhaps they were busy getting ready to leave town. However with all these pre trial nerves I'm now actually considering it if they realized the bus is heading their way.

Would the trial be delayed if they weren't around to testify??:waitasec:

Or Kid Finders? If she wanted to be there, someone would have sprung for her expenses, for sure.

NO! they have their video and taped depositions/testimony

and THIS JUDGE would order an immediate bench warrant for contempt and they would stay in custody until trial over so they could testify....

I think Cindy is glued to the TV at home or following it on the net and not missing a step. I think if it were not broadcast we would have seen her.

Of course! I don't think the two feelings have to be mutually exclusive. Many of us here feel deep compassion for everything they have gone through in losing Caylee. However, it does not mean we have to wear sympathy blinders and excuse bad acts. It's just our opinions and we are not unreasonable people-they have given us great reason to admonish their actions amongst ourselves.
I have yet to read on this forum that Cindy or George deserved to have Caylee taken from them in this cruel and heinous manner or that they are not victims in this crime-They ARE the only living victims here and that is precisely why their behavior boggles the mind.
Oftentimes perception is reality and while I have and many others here have given them the benefit of the doubt far more often than they meritted, we have become hesitant to defend her actions only to watch her turn around and spit in the face of well-meaning people and well-wishers. Not just us who she does not know, but many people she does know-TimM, LeonardP, MichelleB, KindFinders, BradC, DebGrund, just to name a few.

ETA-And lest I forget, a little girl named Dakota...straight under the bus she went.

Me, too. I figured it was a time/travel/monetary thing. She knows KC was only there for a short time and would be returning to Orlando, she'll be waiting there for KC's return.

Maybe she is heartbroken and finally realized that she is powerless in this situation. Her daughters fate lies in the hands of 12 jurors now.

She has had some time to grieve for her granddaughter and possibly come out of mama bear role and is beginning to grieve for her daughter. I don't think for one minute she or George don't blame themselves. I imagine they replay those 31 days over and over and ask themselves what could I have done differently?

Let's not forget, the Anthony family has been attacked by the media and WANT to believe their daughter in incapable of the atrocious acts she is charged with.

Sometimes denial makes us doubt the obvious. Even if ICA is not responsible for the death of her daughter, her other behavior is something a parent would not want to believe.

I have a sister who is an addict, I am a professional in the mental health field. I denied and did not believe for one second the things I was told that were going on in her home with my niece. I finally had to see it for myself and still doubted.

Denial is a powerful thing.....

So, yes I do believe the quiet is not a ploy to derail the trial but possibly a sad acceptance, that may come and go as the denial kicks back in.

I did not vote. I read that because Cindy and George are witnesses, they were told they could not sit in on jury selection. Normally a witness isn't even allowed in the court room other than when testifying, however, they have been told that they can attend.

We parents are suppose to love our children unconditionally, which means you might hate what they do but you still love. These people made some wrong/bad choices when they didn't want to admit that their grandchild was dead and by whom her death came about, but IMO they don't deserve the hate that is being spewed against them in the name of Caylee. This is MOO but I'm really having a hard time with the rhetoric being put forth lately. And now I will sit on my hands and return to reading and hope I haven't earned a TO. :twocents:

CA, GA and LA have been "missing" for the last two weeks because they are ashamed and embarassed that the whole world is going to get a gooooood loooooong look into their fragile, dysfunctional world: Welcome to The Anthony Family. See our faults, errors, lies, mistakes, murders, cover-ups...

If they still choose to stand by ICA even after she throws them under the bus I am definately taking the time (out of MY real life) to send them a letter. Enough is too much!!!! Get a BRAIN. Some people are just whacked.

Justice, Caylee....only hours away. Can't wait, angel!!!!!

Be careful about that letter tsylshari. You don't want to give Cindy any reason to sue you.
