And... from the other thread, let's not forget the unbroken spider web on the basement window, and lack of footprints in the snow!

Like I said, LinasK: I was just getting started.

Nice to see you back, BTW. I'll have some questions for you later on.

I'm pleased No 1, Inconsistent Statements isn't against the law!! There'd be nobody left on this forum for a start.

No 3. The Pineapple. Aside from the fact that her parents say she didn't eat it in their presence, what has it to do with the murder? Unless it was drugged or poisoned, (and RDI assure us that it was tested), it is merely an anomaly, neither is it an artifact, nor is it evidence.

No kidding.

RDI has itself believing they have the best theory by incorporating all the known details, plus some imagined ones. Throw a fake detail out there and I bet RDI will incorporate it almost instantly.

Hey, maybe thats what pineapple is. A red herring to see who will do what with it. I don't recall the autopsy specifically mentioning pineapple or that pineapple was the result of an actual lab test.

Here's a link to the autopsy report which mentions pineapple. Be assured this is not a red herring that RDI's just made up.

I can't speak for anyone else, HOTYH, but for myself, I've never believed that I have a theory that incorporates ALL the known details. I don't think there IS a theory that can do that. I'm just doing my best.

And you accuse other people of giving "wildcard" explanations!

I don't recall the autopsy specifically mentioning pineapple or that pineapple was the result of an actual lab test.

Let me help you out with that. PMPT, page 558, pb:

Meyer noted in his report that the pineapple in JonBenet's small intestine was in near-perfect condition. It had sharp edges and looked as if it had been recently eaten and poorly chewed.

There's also that little matter of Lou Smit telling JR just what a problem it was. Unless you somehow believe LS was in on the "let's hang the Rs" conspiracy train.

Is this the report we've all seen? I don't remember 'near perfect pineapple' anywhere in that report.

  • Beauty pageant lipstick photos juxtaposed with photos of JMK, JR
  • Claims of prior abuse that could not be confirmed
  • Umbrella of suspicion "label" reserved for them and nobody else.
It seems to me it was less of a conspiracy train and more of a propaganda blitz or media campaign. When some mags and tabs got carried away with themselves because the fiction outran the facts, the courts had to reel them back in.

I'm pretty sure it refers to the final report he submitted to the police and DA's office. As he (Meyer) says himself in the book (and I'll dig up the actual quote if you'd like), the public report is not the end of it.

I won't give you an argument about that one. I just fail to see what it has to do with what I'm trying to say.

Claims of prior abuse that could not be confirmed

"Couldn't be confirmed." Oh, really? Is that why a panel of experts signed on to it? I realize that you'd like people to believe that the claims of prior abuse were just tabloid rumors to sell papers, but you'll have to do better.

That was much more lenient than most districts would have been.

That's an idea I can get my head around. It doesn't answer the question, though. Moreover, it gives the impression that LS was part of that offensive.

When some mags and tabs got carried away with themselves because the fiction outran the facts, the courts had to reel them back in.

There's a chance I might agree with you, HOTYH, if not for one thing: I don't know what you mean when you say the "courts had to reel them back in." You'll have to walk me through that.

Claims of prior abuse are not confirmed. I suggest reading the news more. BPD attempted on several fronts to investigate into prior abuse and came up full. Oh, wait--I meant empty. They came up empty.

RDI touts prior abuse and handwriting match but I can't confirm these really exist as fact. These are just some claims...

Isn't life funny? I was just about to suggest some things for you to read.

BPD attempted on several fronts to investigate into prior abuse and came up full. Oh, wait--I meant empty. They came up empty.

Your memory is not the same as mine. The way I remember it, they didn't really investigate it all that thoroughly. Madeleine is right about that. So just for the tallybooks, how exactly did they investigate it and what are these fronts you speak of?

RDI touts prior abuse and handwriting match

Damn right! And whether or not you agree with it, I don't think it's asking too much for you to understand why.

but I can't confirm these really exist as fact. These are just some claims...

Tell me something, HOTYH: what exactly would it take to confirm these things for you? I'm completely serious. I'm trying to find a baseline here.

DNA in the crotch? What about the DNA under her fingernails?

Does anyone know if JonBenet took a bath Christmas Eve? From what I know from December 24, JonBenet went to her little friend house, went to Pasta Jay's for dinner, then made a quick trip to the Whites after a ride to the big star.

December 25, she played outside with friends, rode her bike on the patio, played on the floor next to Burkes room, played at the Whites?

How much DNA could she pick up in 24 hours?

Who knows when the last time that little girl was bathed? My best recollection, it had been days!

I'm not nearly the expert on this case as others here, so I'm sure they can tell you better. All I know is Patsy told in a Police Interview (they were quizzing her about the size 12's) that she did not know if JB had had a bath on Christmas Day. I have no idea how long it had been prior to that.

I haven't followed this case in years, but in light of the new media stir, I recently (2 weeks ago) asked a friend of mine (who lives in Boulder and has for 25 years) what she thought about this case. Bare in mind, with the amount I have heard/read about this case, I lean toward the Soddi stance. My friend, whose daughter used to live on my street, told me that she actually toured the Ramsey home, prior to JB's death, on one of the Christmas tours. She also told me at the time, she found it so completely strange that PR had all her pageant gowns laid out in her master bedroom on display for all the Christmas visitors to view. She expressed to me that it was just plain weird that PR felt compelled to display these pageant gowns when the Holiday tour was supposed to be about Christmas and home decor. She also told me that the scuttlebutt about town is that PR was responsible and the locals pretty much all agree. I was told this two weeks ago. Got me rethinking a few things.

Mods, this is local gossip. If you need to delete me or move me, please do. I didn't know where else to post what I heard from a friend who is local (Boulder) who I have zero reason to doubt. My friend's theory is the PR was jealous of JB and snapped over the bed wetting. Don't know if I agree with that. Just thought it was interesting since she's much closer to the occurence than I.

ETA: When I typed PR had all HER gowns laid out in the Master Bedroom, I meant Patsy's gowns. Not JB's. So you can see how strange this must have been for those touring the home. Even if she had laid out JB's, that still would be weird, in my opinion. It was a Holiday tour for goodness sake.

a lot!

Patsy WAS asked about JB's recent baths, and she told LE that JB had not had a bath Christmas Day or Christmas Eve. The last bath she likely had was for the R Christmas party on the 23rd. The interviews are no longer available on ACR, but someone may have them saved.

I don't have children, so I'll bite...

Isn't it very ODD not to bath your child for 2 days?

I don't for one minute believe that Patsy let JonBenet go that long without a bath. There is a reason for her not rememboring when JB last bathed. There is a clue in that somewhere. I could understand her not remembering immediately after JB's death, anyone would be crushed and not able to think clearly, but she should have been able to pull herself together enough to answer these kinds of questions with some common sense in a matter of days. After all, they were going to Christmas dinner at their friend's home, where other guests would be present and JonBenet had been playing outside practically all day. This flies in the face of Patsy being such a "good mother".
