WI WI - James Yoblonski, 13, took family's car, found on USH 12, may be in Devil's Lake State Park area, Baraboo, 12 Jun 2023 *reward*

JUN 20, 2023
The father of 13-year-old James Yoblonski spent Father's Day combing through leaves and branches searching for his missing son.

In an interview with 27 News Bill Yoblonski said this has been the hardest eight days of his life.

"It is the worst feeling in the world," he said. "I don't know how to explain it, but it just hits you every which way."

[...]

On day eight of the search, Schram said, while they decreased the number of officers on scene, they haven't stopped looking.

"We haven't been able to really rule anything out," Schram explained. "We're trying to keep an open mind as we continue to look for new information and follow up on every single tip and every single piece of information that's brought into us."

[...]

Bill said his family spent the entire weekend looking for his son.

"We were walking into the woods using the bullhorn to holler for James," he said. "Just telling him he was not in trouble and he just needed to come out so we could bring him home."

In answer to a question, they can see a lot with FLIR and typically would easily be able to tell a boy from a wild boar or something.

This is obviously in San Diego, but it shows how you can see that the vehicles parked at this home hadn't been driven recently as the ground was warmer than they were (thus it was glowing, the tires/engines were not as bright).

You can see no one is standing in the yard on the grass because there's no glow from the heat of a body visible there.

However, you can see the heat signature of someone standing outside the home (in the corner of the 'L' of the home) and the height of the signature would indicate it's unlikely to be a child and another person that's actually just inside the door of the home.

We spent about an hour this particular night I was up with the crew with them focused on looking for a missing elderly man in an open space (non-residential, largely tree/scrub, but not quite as heavily wooded as it appears it is where they're looking for James, and definitely not as remote).

And it was evident when we were seeing things that were smaller heat signatures like presumably rabbits or coyotes vs something larger, even with the brush covering - in this instance, it was always deer. With really heavy tree covering it can be harder.

I'll try to look for more of my pictures on my older computer tomorrow, but it was very interesting to see how the FLIR heat signatures changed and you could tell if someone had hair or had on a hat vs. hoodie, etc. but those things all also play into what is picked up by FLIR and so if James were bedded down and wearing a hoodie or hat, etc. that would decrease how much of a heavy heat signature you see from his head, for instance.

If you're also dealing with heavy foliage, it can certainly be harder to pinpoint things, and that's when you typically have people on the ground checking on possible things if you can't get enough clarity or certainty from the air.

Obviously these are some generalities and those highly trained in FLIR are more in tune with all those specifics, but just since I know many people haven't seen what you can actually see, I thought I'd at least include one pic I had readily available that was FLIR specific.

Lt. Steven Schram sent NBC15 News the following statement on Thursday: “We have received several tips since our request went out and have detectives working to check into each of those as they come in. [We] continue to have resources ready to respond should one of the tips lead to verifiable information.”

Family of missing Sauk Co. 13-year-old organizes search. BARABOO, Wis. (WMTV) - The family of missing Reedsburg 13-year-old James Yoblonski is organizing a search effort.

Yoblonski’s father posted on Facebook saying anyone who wants to help should meet at Badger Ammunition in Baraboo at 10 a.m. Sunday morning

Thank you for the update. A quote from his father from your link:

“And go from there we will be searching from sky high road south and HWY 12 east please any one that wants to come help all are welcome I will have 6 cases of water with me.”

That is so sweet and sincere, he’s thinking of what the searchers will need and hoping people will turn up. I can tell from SM that people have wanted to join the search, I hope there’s a big turnout.

Dropped in to see if there were any updates. :(
So sorry to see that James is still missing.

The longer this disappearance of James drags on, the more worried I am that he's ok.
Still think there need to be a few more photos of him uploaded and clear photos that show him with different poses -- like, does he wear a cap ?
Any windbreakers or light jacket with him ?
Would anyone see him and mistake him for an adult /
How tall is he, and how much does James weigh ?

Was his hair longer than the photo provided ?
Was the photo provided the very latest one ?
Has he gained/lost weight since the phot was taken ?
Etc.

I could go on, but for some reason that pic niggles at me.
Kids these days take tons of selfies and friends sometimes share photos of a small group, that might have James in the photo.
Did they test the objects that they believe James left at a campsite to make sure they have his dna/fingerprints on the items ?
This almost makes me think something else happened.
Imo.

5’11” at 13, able to drive that car, survivalist skills - I am rooting for this kid. I hope so much he reappears. He was born 200 years late, back then we looked at that kid and called him [future president] “Andrew Jackson,” who did much the same in Tennessee and Kentucky at that age, minus the driving the car, of course. I pray this isn’t a family abuse case (I have seen no evidence that it is) and that this resolves well.
