I can't even imagine what it's liked for the loved ones. This is the second time they've had to wait for news on human remains, that I know of.

Usually they check with homeland security for that. I assume they have here, but I think it’s far more likely that James didn’t make it that far.

My hot take that’s gonna get me eaten: unless the family has a farm, I find it really weird this kid at 13 knows how to drive a van that far & knows how to use a handgun. He clearly was way too young and immature to handle that information. On a farm he might need to know both (tractors etc) but this wouldn’t have happened this way if they didn’t trust him so much.
Everyone is different. It's not uncommon to know how to use a gun and drive a vehicle in rural areas at that age. I shot my first rifle when I was probably 9 or 10, and I could drive decently enough by 13, and I grew up outside of a pretty big city.

Yeah, I've learned that from this thread. I was ignorant, and you all helped. :)

This case makes me so sad, and I hate to post anything publicly that points to a negative conclusion, because I want to allow the family to keep some hope and remain optimistic always, but that being said, I just feel like the case is going in the wrong direction due to understandable denial and the wish for James to somehow still be okay, even though he's now been missing for something like a year and a half.

And one critical piece of evidence that was reported on fairly early by MSM, so not just a rumor, continues to be overlooked, forgotten, ignored or misinterpreted imo, and to me, that evidence is the one thing that explains it all. The problem is that it points to a bad outcome for James, which I realize is not what the family wants or is ready to admit, imo.

So I hate to bring it up, but it's been this long, and this piece of evidence to me is so clear, that I really feel it's time to give it its due, despite its negative connotations. Because James did leave behind what can only be called, in my opinion, a suicide note. It's not written though; it's audio. But other than it not being in the traditional form that that kind of note is usually left in, it otherwise says pretty much what you would expect a note of that type to say, traditionally. It's really very clear, imo, heartbreakingly so.

James was only 13, IIRC, which is younger than the average age of teens who take their own lives, but it's certainly something we do sometimes see unfortunately. It happens to some children even as young as James. And when you have this kind of message left behind, I just don't know what else to interpret it as. So, here's part of an MSM report that includes part of that final message that James left behind the day he disappeared:

-------------------------------------------------------------
A video James is believed to have posted on social media the night he left home began circulating online. He's heard making comments about being scared and sad.

He says, "For everyone who cares about me, it's not their fault. It's no one's fault. It's my fault."

James added, "I’m not processing anything. My brain is... something happened to it."

What James was trying to explain in the video is still unclear.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

OK so... yeah, very sad. I seem to recall reading more of it than that, long time ago, so that may not be all there was, but I'll have to look and see if I can find it. But even just from that small part, I feel like that can't really be interpreted any other way, and we may not know where his body is, but imo, we know what likely happened to him. And he just hasn't been found yet, which we know can happen even after extensive, diligent searching. His dad said there was a gun missing from his work, and LE reported that James visited dad's work twice by himself the night he went missing.

There's more in this article, which is also where the excerpt above came from, but I'll look for the rest of his message elsewhere now and post if found:

I find it just a little odd that no one woke up or heard anything.

I do too, but - since I happen to agree with @sunspun that young James left behind a "final" message - well, where there's a will, there's a way. I don't doubt at all that he knew his way around home very well, including how to enter and exit without disturbing others.

I can imagine the agony of wondering, for months on end, how you could have missed the sound of your child walking out the door late at night, let alone driving away in a vehicle.

This is such a sad case. IMO, I think his remains will be discovered one day, not all that far from where he left the van. I just don't see him turning up in a few years with a new name, or a new family, or having escaped from a predator who held him in captivity. I know such things have happened in other cases, but the message left by James had, to me anyway, an unmistakable sense of finality.

I’m not very high tech but April of 2024 I was looking on google earth in the park James was rumored 2 possibly be & saw this… again I’m not that high tech & this could just be a pic with a glitch or something fake but I thought i should share it just in case

Obviously your find is a human hand protruding from a pile of rocks next to some man-made stone steps, but, since you observed it in April of 2024, it couldn't be the body of James Yoblonski since he didn't go missing until June 12, 2024. Can you provide a link to the GPS coordinates of your find?

The size of the hand seems out of proportion to its surroundings and looks like it's sticking out of undisturbed earth. The photo appears to be blurred to the right of the hand, including the pinkie finger and the ring finger.

You're right. My bad. If it was him the hand appears to be pretty well preserved after a year.

Yes it doesn’t quite compute as real. The bent ‘finger’ seems out of proportion to the other two, and the wrinkles don’t line up with the bend.

i think we've all seen the crazy stuff that shows up on google maps from moving while their camera is shooting frames! same idea as people getting distorted or squished when taking a panoramic photo. i think this is the hand of someone walking down the trail or the cameraman, with the frames stitched together in a way that creates a floating hand (in the air, not coming from the ground).
edit: for those not familiar with the google maps glitch, heres some examples

Again I’m not high tech & the pic looks weird… it could 100% be a glitch or something else but I’d rather share it just in case … idk the exact coordinates but I think this is a screenshot of where… I called & left a message with the tip but never heard back & they never saw the pic … again it could be nothing but just in case

yeah I'm pretty sure this is a camera glitch as mentioned above, but good eye! I, personally, would rather people ask around about strange things they find instead of assuming it's normal and that everyone else saw it.

Right?!? I called & left a message & never got a reply from the number the Barraboo Sheriff connected me 2 so I’m not sure if it already has been debunked or what but I’m doing a bit of a “Swedish Death Cleaning “ or whatever the term is… I wanna share on here stuff I’ve saved over the years I think is sketchy & either I didn’t get a reply from a tip I tried or something that bothers me on cases just 2 try & share for if/ when I pass @ least I tried again.

No, you are fine, but a lot of these law enforcement types avoid the phone. You're better off by emailing. It's not Baraboo pd tho, It's Sauk County Sheriff, you might have them mixed. I've had good luck with them. Here's the contact page: Directory Listings | Sauk County Wisconsin Official Website

Sometimes submitting a tip works like a "bump" for something that was on the back burner, even if the tip doesn't pan out.

There wasn’t an email or a detectives name or email on NamUs so I called the number written on most of the sites… I called the number & asked 2 talk 2 the detective on the case cuz I saw something I wanna show them.. the chick said there wasn’t a detective assigned but she transferred me 2 a detective.. (I don’t remember his name off the top cuz i assumed id get a call back but I am good about keeping notes..not in good order but i might have the detectives name on the answering machine written but im not 100%)
