There wasn’t an email or a detectives name or email on NamUs so I called the number written on most of the sites… I called the number & asked 2 talk 2 the detective on the case cuz I saw something I wanna show them.. the chick said there wasn’t a detective assigned but she transferred me 2 a detective.. (I don’t remember his name off the top cuz i assumed id get a call back but I am good about keeping notes..not in good order but i might have the detectives name on the answering machine written but im not 100%)

I emailed NamUs also 2 ask who the investigator was on James’ case cuz I saw something on google earth & they replied with they won’t share stuff with the public that’s not available on NamUs & some automated bs.. then I called the number.. Again it really might be nothing just a glitch but i feel better just sharing & asking just in case.

No, you are fine, but a lot of these law enforcement types avoid the phone. You're better off by emailing. It's not Baraboo pd tho, It's Sauk County Sheriff, you might have them mixed. I've had good luck with them. Here's the contact page: Directory Listings | Sauk County Wisconsin Official Website

Sometimes submitting a tip works like a "bump" for something that was on the back burner, even if the tip doesn't pan out.
Idk if It came up as Barraboo Sheriff when I dialed or the more likely I could’ve saved it as that but that the number I called for sure , I emailed NamUs before then & got a generic response. But I don’t wanna send some wild goose chase if it is a glitch, I just feel like just in case i should ask on here.

It's showing as being from March 2016 for me, and it looks like the fingers belong to the camera man walking down as they kept their balance walking down the stairs, (my opinion only).

Attaching a screenshot of looking at the spot from the other direction, as well.

You're right. My bad. If it was him the hand appears to be pretty well preserved after a year.
Do I see a dead hand just beside the alive looking fingers?

Yeah I think it is a rock. But I see what you mean.

That is bizarre! Maybe it can be explained as some camera glitch or whatever, but I would like a professional person to look at it and give some definitive answer, or at least their expert opinion. I think there's no doubt that it's human fingers, but it also seems just as clearly not a spot where a person could be buried with just a hand seen protruding. It definitely looks like a mistake somehow, but then any hand lying on the rocks out there or anywhere surely would! If it really were a hand of a deceased person, it wouldn't look so pink and... alive. It actually looks like a hand in an AI generated pic, which often end up with too many fingers or fingers fused together or something strange.

Very intriguing find anyhow! Hope you hear back from LE!

To me it looks like there is a dropoff from the trail, and the fingers are someone in the process of climbing up. (The angle of the camera makes the depth difficult to see, IMO.)

However, I would definitely think law enforcement should see it, and probably have someone go look, just in case there are clues!

Who should photograph a person, who is climbing a rock/hill or something and only 4 fingers are to be seen? Was the photographer standing above and waiting for a person, who appears in full sometime? Never seen such a photo design: only the fingers (two streched out!!, two bent, one of them with a plaster) of a climbing person. Mysterious.

You should look up panorama glitches like the ones linked by someone in this thread. Happens more than you think. Also I don’t see a plaster or cast as we sometimes call them here. I think that’s part of the discoloration of the glitch. Or dirt. Or maaaaybe a bandaid?

I fear my link might be otherwise off topic, but for the conversation about the photos. In the article they describe a backpack camera which takes many pictures with many cameras at different levels and they suggest bringing a buddy along to help carry equipment.

I reported the issue to Google, not sure if any of you did. I used to be a part of a social media group that was dedicated to Google anomolys, glitches and other odd things, so they happen often. Look at the Google Street photos in Africa, most have police officers behind them. Just neat stuff in the whole process of collecting the photos overall.
