My dogs definitely hear the vehicle door opening/closing, if not the arrival.
True. My dogs would hear the doors as well. Plus, the Closses don't have a paved driveway which would make a difference in the sounds the "coasting" would make.

might have be vinyl gloves under work gloves?
Timeline:
Judging by what we know, the call log started at 00:53:26. The first dispatcher entry, dispatching 3 units 00:56:01. So 2 min, 35 seconds to try and resolve the 911 hangup. This is not unusual - there are more 911 hangups than you think. Cars onscene at 01:00:29. That's 4 min, 28 sec plus 2:35 for 7:03 elapsed for 911 response.
Figure with what we know now the dog alerted maybe 1.5 min before call? (Dogs can be very observant to specific vehicle noise signatures.) First shot 30 to 45 seconds before 911 call? Just a guess here, though.
Some distortion/muffling due to the bathroom/tub likely didn't help, but there's probably more detail on the tape than released.
So say, with what we know, time from first shot to escape with JC about 7 min, 8 min max I believe.
I want to re-iterate I think BC dispatch and the first 4 responders did a great job.
I was envisioning along the lines of this type of glove - black, nitrile - mechanics wear them.. police wear them.. other trades wear them ie plumbers, cleaners, fuel people, etc. It would be easy to wear 2 pairs in case one layer became slit somehow, would go with his 'uniform', would still allow agility, and would cover his prints.
DELTA Black Magic glove
Doubt he has many contacts but would hate to be one of them on that list. The Sheriff said himself, originally, that they could hear background noise and calling for help. He likely said more than anyone else thought he should have, so he backed off his original statement.
I'm curious as to what they found in Jake Pattersons phone records, as far as the timeline goes... since they are so certain he acted alone.
Imagine, he would have taken another teen girl after some months for Jayme to have a fellow sufferer. He would have been proud of his "skills" for outdoing LE twice, IMO.
I agree , I remember years ago when my parents sold their home ( well my childhood home to) . It had caught on fire years prior but it was rebuilt basically from the ground up remodeled doubled in value. When they sold it of course the realtor knew she had been a family friend. The house didn’t burn due to issues within the home. My brother was burning trash without permission on a windy day etc. anyway the realtor didn’t disclose it. My parents asked why I still remember the convo. She said it’s just more paperwork and summaries etc to have to peruse it wasn’t from electrical etc issues so it’s just more trouble then it’s worth. They argued about it because technically the house was newer in all most everyway after. But the company didn’t add it although she said it only had to be dealt with if they asked. Well 5 years later the couple that bought the house heard about the fire from a neighbor. They then sued my parents and the realtor company for over 1 mill. 8x what they even paid for the house.I am a realtor in a different state. We have disclosure laws, as all states do, and I believe we would need to disclose something of this nature for a period of time.

Short story is the judge dismissed the case towards my parents because it was up to the realtor to disclose. Since they did tell them even if not they should of done the homework so to speak. Anyway in the end the couple did win but only for the cost of the home and any money spent when they closed the deal. So they got the house completely free out of the company’s pocket. It is a majorly know big realtor company to. Over 20 years later the people still live there. They had no issues with the house at all. Only that the fire wasn’t disclosed. So I personally wouldn’t want to even sell a house where a murder took place and just wait years hoping it would be forgotten. That could majorly bankrupt the seller. Not worth it. But you know the Ramsey’s house still stood and that is a house that even before social media everyone knew about. Even I went to see that house a fence and a address change didn’t deter that home being well known.
Criminal Complaint - Probable Cause - References to Cell Phone
Page 2. Deputy James Pressley, with the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, reports on October 15, 2018, at approximately 12:53 AM, he and other deputies were in the Barron County Dispatch Center when a 911 call came in. Wow! Your poor parents! Their realtor misled them. Here's how I like to play it.......when in doubt, disclose.I agree , I remember years ago when my parents sold their home ( well my childhood home to) . I wonder. It's possible, since it all seemed to go so well for him for quite a while, that he thought hey, why not do it again? OTOH, I wonder if the whole thing was kind of let down, didn't satisfy whatever rage or loneliness or whatever he was feeling, and was starting to become more of a hassle than it was worth.
No idea why I think that's possible. But something about him that I can't put my finger on makes me wonder if he really was happy with the situation.
Which should in no way be construed as sympathy. I don't think he regrets it or cares about Jayme or her parents, and even if he did, I wouldn't care. I just wonder if it was all he thought it would be.
BBM.... I have had the same thought... IMOO.
“Some distortion/muffling due to the bathroom/tub likely didn't help, but there's probably more detail on the tape than released.”
Trying to figure out at what point the 911 call was made. Was it when JP was busting through the door?
The BC Sheriff has stated all along that nothing discernible could be heard in the call. Knowing what we now know about the location of JC and DC, in the bathroom tub, hiding behind the curtain, how muffled could the audio be?
Did DC have it in a pocket to conceal the fact the call was made? If so, then JP found it on her, right? Or, did JC have the phone, make the call? If so, was it in her pocket and did he find it, perhaps when he was placing duct tape on her?
How did the phone travel from the bathroom (tub?) to the outer hallway door? Did JP throw it there? Did JC drop it as he grabbed her to exit the house? (Edit to add: Did it fall out of her pocket?)
Did the 911 operator hear the gunshot?
(Edit #2 - In earlier interview (I believe w/Dryden Wire), Sheriff stated that the audio sounded like it was coming from another room, where you couldn’t make out what was being said. I believe that was a bluff and there’s more on that audio than we know, how much is the question.)
Sheriff: No fingerprints, no shoe prints, no DNA in Wisconsin double homicide, missing teen case
“It is unknown who made that call.
"There's like a distance to it or something's covering up the phone like a blanket," Fitzgerald said.
Police found the phone in the doorway of a bathroom hallway, away from where the two bodies were discovered, he said in an interview with MPR News.”
