He no longer exists and that makes me happy.

Me too, PM. Now no reporters can contact him for comments about Jayme. How wonderful if she could live her life never seeing his name again!

New Mexico is so different from Wisconsin! This will be a shock to his system. He chose isolation, lived alone (until he kidnapped JC of course, in an isolated town, low population density.

The Pen has a high population density. Isolation may be available as a consequence/punishment. Plenty of inmates speak Spanish, maybe he'll learn a second language?

(ETA: He's not in Offender Search, but may be in Reception/Diagnostic before the DOC decides where to stick him.)

What does everyone think of his "pen pal" speaking out on the news?

Okay. I had to search Google for that 'ilia'..... EEWW! OMG! Are these people really amongst us? Okay, that might have come out wayyy wrong. I know I'm supposed to tolerate everyone. Well, that I can. So I'll stop babbling and say, I sure hope this new prison will restrict these gut-punches to the victims. IMHO this is not respectful to JCs community. Nor to the memories of the parents he cold bloodedly murdered. Of course, these are all IMO about these pen pals. Ugh!

Say, Jim_M, I share your opinion. Googled that myself. Yes, indeed.

Oh, PM, I could have gone the rest of my life not knowing there was so much evidence of such freakishness that they gave it a name!

The pen pal is in it for the minute or two of fame and any cash the media will give her for updates on the felon!

MADISON (AP) -- The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has erased any record of the man who kidnapped Jayme Closs and killed her parents from its inmate locator database.

Twenty-two-year-old Jake Patterson was moved to an out-of-state facility on July 15. DOC officials declined to reveal where out of concern for his safety. The agency has declined to elaborate.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Patterson's name has been removed from the DOC's online inmate locator. DOC spokeswoman Molly Vidal told the newspaper that the agency decides on a case-by-case basis whether someone is included in the locator.

Patterson also doesn't appear on the state sex offender registrydespite being ordered to register as part of his sentence.

Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council President Bill Lueders says it's outrageous to conceal Patterson's whereabouts.

This could be a good thing, if the press can't find him. He needs to fade away and stop speaking publicly about Jamie.

Why are people getting so brazen these days? Is it the media attention the crimes get? Is it becoming normalized? I am just so sick of hearing about tourists and hikers and runners and bikers and golfers (in all countries, mind you) getting snatched up or run down or murdered... Just today I read about three different incidents in my area involving various men demanding, luring, or actually trying to drag children or teens into their cars. And in cases like JC’s and the one you cite here a person and their whole family can’t be safe in their own home if some twisted person takes a liking to you. MOO Aaaaargh!!
