Good morning, Mom24. The blue pickup truck is new to me. Can you please link or tell me where that information came from? Is that also in the call log? TIA
Yes that is in the call log. You would have to have the unredacted PDF version with the "Persons Involved" section at the top. There is vehicle information provided for the vehicle that had driven by multiple times.

I have not read this or heard this. Please let me know where this came from. Thanks.
That came from the Radar Online story.

Have any of you participated in a search similar to this one? If so, can you share what it is like? Do the LE usually provide specific things to look for? Is the search usually broken into groups with leaders for each group? How do searchers decide whether a found item is worth the time of the LE; for instance, will searchers have to call in any piece of trash no matter how small? Basically, how does this all work?

This too was on the Ashley Banfield show. Each group has LE with them. If they find something they think is evidence they stop and ME comes over and determines if it's evidence. If yes it's photographed and placed in a sealed container.

At the press conference yesterday, it was explained. There will be groups led by a LEO. Both the DNR and WI State Patrol are helping with that leadership. If someone finds something, they will alert their LEO leader. The evidence will then be turned over to and Evidence Officer (not sure that is the right title, but ykwim) for proper handling.

They made a plan and are now executing it. I'm impressed.

And hopeful.

I have participated on a search for missing girl from bus stop ( 5yrs later skeletal remains found miles away) . We we're we're examples of possible evidence to be found and everyone had gloves to use if we had to retrieve the material right then. But asked to call for the head of our party to collect which was either a police officer or retired officer. Our search party was not close to 2000 people

Thanks, Jethro. I see a blue Chevrolet Lumina, 4-door sedan but no pickup truck. (From page 1)

The videos/pictures of the searchers and searching are very emotional to me. It's heartwarming so many came to help, and heartbreaking why they are there. Thanks to all of you updating the thread with the new information, videos, pictures, etc.

I wish I had that answer...

I just don’t see this risky “middle-of-the night, everyone home” scenario if all they wanted was her.

Many seem to always think this way when it happens. What others may see as too risky was never too risky for the suspects who have invaded homes murdering those inside and then kidnapped the child or children.

Anyone capable of doing this proves they are high risk takers. Maybe that is part of their sick twisted thrill.

What we may think is way too risky really has nothing to do with suspects who have certainly taken these same high risks.

That would be like saying home invaders would never take the risk of entering any home because they knew people were inside of the home at the time. Yet there have been many who did so and tortured..raped and murdered everyone inside. Imo they knew beforehand there were people inside but they just didn't care.

And unfortunately most of these kind of suspects are not seen either at the time they invaded the homes then murdering parents or others and then kidnapping the child or children.

Some of them have never been caught even many years later. In some cases the abducted children were found murdered years or decades later. However some of the abducted children still remain missing and LE presumes they are dead.

So imho it is never wise to think any crime is simply too risky for any suspects who absolutely have taken those risks in order to get their targeted victim or victims.

Not sure how the quoting works... i clicked on the button... anyways my thoughts are “no guns found at the scene” can mean no random guns lying around at the initial investigation ... if someone broke into my house- LE or intruders wouldn’t find my guns either - at least not until they got into my safe and gun safe... not sure if it matters, but I’m sure after a few days they would be able to walk out with my guns too...

Has anyone heard numbers yet? I am wondering if they got 2000 volunteers and actually had to turn people away.

Looks like this Thread was down for awhile! I am surprised that the obituary is out already. Hoping for a break in this case.

Authorities believe Jayme, who is not a suspect in her parents' deaths, was abducted.

An army of volunteers poured into the Hungry Hollow Grounds at 9am local time on a cloudy and cold Tuesday, where they were split into six groups.

Officials instructed them to be on the lookout for evidence such as guns, cell phones, clothing or anything else that could be tied to Jayme.

The search is expected to continue into the late afternoon.

In one of the live news coverages, the leader of one of the groups was giving instructions.

He told the group that if you see something, don’t pick it up, just raise your hand and say stop. The leader will come to you and see if it is something that needs to be bagged and checked out. Everyone will stop where they are until he says to continue. Up ahead is a river. We will stop there, turn and go single file to the road.

ETA: It looks like the video is no longer available.

Hearing volunteers are spotting various items as they tromp across Barron in their #JaymeCloss search. Will take authorities some time to go out & analyze. So may be a while before law enforcement confirms something of evidentiary value was found. Let's see what aftn brings.
