Yeah it looks like they have something solid here.

Question that has probably been asked and answered (like so many in these threads) but... why didn't the neighbor who heard the shots call 911? Yes, lots of hunting there in that area but her own words seem to indicate this was different.

Idk...moo...

Why have civilians trampled over an active crime scene? They must’ve already covered this area imo.

This is an excellent step. The perpetrator may have thrown evidence out of the car leaving the scene. The Yosemite killer purposefully threw victim's wallets along the highway in random places to try to throw off police.

Volunteers will be broken down into groups of 7. They will work with member of law enforcement to search the sides of roadway from Barron to Turtle Lake. This search expected to take 2-3 hours. #JaymeCloss

DEVELOPING: Authorities just told volunteers that this is a 14 mile long crime scene. From city of Barron all the way to Turtle Lake. #JaymeCloss

I’m wondering how it could be so horrific that LE professionals would need counseling, if it was truly a couple gun shots. Even if they were shot point blank, that’s terrible, but something LE sees.
It’s not uncommon for LE to get counseling, yet I get the impression that “extensive” counseling and a “horrific” crime scene implies something really dark went on there.

They must know something to be able to say this. 14 mile long crime scene?

Probably...still a possibility that they decided having a hostage may deter a chase or they ran out of shells/bullets...if left behind, she could describe them if they were not wearing masks.
I wonder if the father left work early.

Anyone know anything about Turtle Lake? Is it in the direction of the party or work place or school or anything that we already know is connected to the family?? Or is it just a nearby town that now appears in the case??

You'd have to ask the neighbor.

There is a truck stop at the intersection the searchers are meeting at.

What is the home address again?

Were items tossed out a car window that LE has recovered?

Is the search party walking along the road, perhaps, to search for discarded items like that?

14 miles?! OMG this is insanity. Someone had some intel... that is all along highway 8. Maybe camera evidence.

Does anyone know the nature of those crimes?
I believe they're unrelated to this case.... but am hoping there's a break soon !

And it is 14 miles from where they are back west past the home and beyond.
