#JaymeCloss evidence search is happening about 3 miles away from the Closs home.

Resident tells me canines were out searching the same area this morning.

Possibly something was captured on the cams at the casino.

@Oller explained about the surveillance cameras at the casino:

And the local casino?

Turtle Lake is just west of Barron on Highway 8... lots of cameras there? Facing Highway 8 as vehicles pass in either direction? The casino is very close physically to the highway.
I saw a casino was right near Turtle Lake. Gambling debts for anyone? Or a random stopover after murdering two people and taking a thirteen year old? jmo

If Jayme's father was not at the birthday party but at work it is possible he was returning home and was shot while entering the home. Does anyone know what the shift hours at the Jenne-O plant.
It was shown in a link on the company website that a shift ended at 1 am.

Random WI question...are meat processing/packaging plants common? I noticed that all three towns involved in the search zone have one.

Growing up there, it's fairly common.

DEVELOPING: Authorities just told volunteers that this is a 14 mile long crime scene. From city of Barron all the way to Turtle Lake. #JaymeCloss

Wow. That makes me think they took the woods parallel to Rte 8. Jmo

ETA: never mind, maybe they walked roadside, or searches are looking for thrown out gun or other crime paraphernalia.

Okay, I'm old-school and still have a landline. I know if I call 911 and don't say anything, LE will be able to locate my address.

If Jayme (or other person) called on a cell phone, how did LE arrive withing 4 minutes? Can they tell that fast from a cellphone what the location is??

Or, did the call come from a landline?

jmo

My daughter accidentally called 911 from my cell phone last year. The police were ringing my doorbell in 4-5 minutes. They can tell, almost to an uncanny degree of accuracy.

Another Amber Alert for an IL/WI situation just went off on my phone and scared the heck out of me. This is the first time I’ve gotten an audible alert for some reason. They do get your attention.
Yes they do. First time I received an alert I was in a public place and some two dozen cell phones went off around me. Definitely gets your attention.

From the live video, (at 5:55), the warden for the WI DNR spoke, rough transcription by me:

“The search area is going to be one mile west of the scene to the city limits of Turtle Lake. We’re searching the ditch line of State Trunk Highway 8. The east and west bound ditch lines of Highway 8. We’re not doing extensive wooden searches. There’s no aerial assets involved today. It’s engaging the civilian core to help us out to search a large area, looking for any items of interest. What that may be, we don’t know until we see it.”

Maybe to watch for needles ?
Thus the request for hard soled shoes. Police are very clear in these types of searches to use your eyes and not your hands. If you see something, alert the officer.

Yeah, I found that very interesting. I wonder what specifically, they were eluding to with that statement.
They probably were advised this as a precautionary to be careful. I know the meth heads in the city I live in prefer to leave their uses syringes laying everywhere both on the streets and in buisnesses without even putting the covers back on the needle part.

do people shoot meth? honest question...in delaware ive never even heard of anyone selling or buying meth or getting busted with it. Its not common over here like other drugs, thought it was sniffed or smoked, i guess it could be IV also

I find it interesting that this tweet mentions that searchers were advised re: meth epidemic in the region.

I think they want people to be careful not to pick up needles or drug paraphernalia. Last thing they need is a searcher stuck with a dirty needle.

Yeah. That’s gotta be it.

This is Badge from @WausauPD. He’s in Barron today giving some love to students and staff at the Barron Area School District in the wake of Jayme Closs’ disappearance and her parents’ murders.
