I think maybe we should do some searching for home invasions where the door was kicked in?
This sounds like they have nothing at all to go on.Sheriff gets over 1,000 tips as search for abducted teen continues
"We are hopeful to learn more about the Closs family to help bring Jayme home," Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said in a statement Friday. "If you spent time with members of the Closs family recently, or if you have ever had a misunderstanding with members of the Closs family, or know someone who has, please call the tipline."
Fitzgerald said the public should be mindful of someone who missed work suddenly; missed scheduled appointments; suddenly left town without a reasonable explanation; changed appearance; is acting anxious, nervous, or irritable; or is paying an unusual amount of interest -- either too much or too little -- to the progress of the Closs investigation.
The casino is right on Hwy 8.I am sure there are cameras outside and the building itself sits very close to Highway 8.
Not once did I imply LE shot James. It is possible to be shot and still answer a door. Obviously depends on the severity. I took it from this sentence: ADVISED THAT THE MALE WHO IS DOWN HAD ANSWERED THE DOOR." Which could be he answered door to perp, as well.

Really reminds me of Mollie's Dad when he said it wasn't too late, "things got out of hand" appealing to whoever had poor Mollie- IIRC. Seems to me like they have some information to lead them in this direction which would make me believe the murderer knew the family or a family member IMO.....That to me sounds *almost* like they're appealing to the assailant(s) to come forward. They're framing the murders / abduction perhaps in a minimalistic way (as a misunderstanding) so as to appeal to the assailant(s) that this wasn't their fault, that this was just something that got out of hand, and they can sort it out (get out of it) by contacting police. I think that is a message to the offender(s), more than to the general public. MOO.
I agree and that’s terrifying. Hope we’re wrong but it’s not looking good. Where are you Jayme? This sounds like they have nothing at all to go on.
Maybe he did tell them she was kidnapped, and that is why before checking to see if she was with friends or anything they immediately called her a missing and endangered person. Maybe LE just doesn't want her abductor to know this??People are speculating he opened the door for police and spoke with them. My point is if he is able to do all that, why in the world would he not tell them his daughter had been kidnapped. I found it confusing myself and don't believe it happened that way. That's why I was asking.

Yep. It's always the same. They forgot to add white male in his mid-30's.Argh I knew that profile was coming. Told you guys...
No snark shout. Just never implied that LE shot James. I was merely asking if anyone else interpreted the dispatcher log that way.Seattle1 said: ↑
I did not read as JC/Dad answered the door to LE. How was Dad shot and several spent bullets on the floor with LE on the scene? Are you saying that LE shot James? That's not plausible. MOO
No need to misrepresent my response to your question, or snark shout. Let me quote you:

From the un-redacted police log, it sounds to me that James opened the door to LE officer. Anyone else read it that way? [...] BBM

I'm an optimist. I'm going to hold out hope that something in those 1,000 tips gives them something to go on.This sounds like they have nothing at all to go on.
me tooI have wondered if someone else was visiting mom and/or daughter in house before dad got home.
My impression is that that the door was already open and the location of Dad's body was such that it would have been impossible for him to be dead in that position before the door was opened. I believe that it is an assumption at that moment on the part of the officer that Dad actually answered the door as it is quite possible that the door was already open and any number of things went on prior to dad being killed. Not once did I imply LE shot James. It is possible to be shot and still answer a door. Obviously depends on the severity. I took it from this sentence: ADVISED THAT THE MALE WHO IS DOWN HAD ANSWERED THE DOOR." I hope so too but my glass is always half empty.I'm an optimist. I'm going to hold out hope that something in those 1,000 tips gives them something to go on.![]()
yes I didn't want to just assume he was working at the turkey plant. It highlights what we don't know which is a lot still after 5 days....What do you mean by this? He possibly had a second job?
My theory is that the phone pinged to a tower along that 14 mile stretch, then it didn't ping to the next tower. Maybe they were hoping the phone was shut down and tossed, but it may have just been powered down. Pings don't give your exact location, they only show that you are in the vicinity of a tower (a couple of miles in either direction) so 14 miles would be a reasonable distance to search, depending on the location of the next tower.Good catch !
Makes me think LE have a fairly good idea as to what went down ; just that they can't find the perp and Jayme.
But that they might know a motive ?
Emph. mine
Agreed that is curious.
The perp would have to know that phone 'pings' would put LE on their trail. Assuming this is more that just one perp
Also-- if this was a vendetta against the parents-- why take a hostage ?
That's practically like putting a tracking device on your vehicle ; and it would intensify investigation by the FBI and local LE tenfold.
