Were the parent's cars both in the driveway?

been bothering me since day one of this case. on mom's FB, the white equinox was her car. in all the google pic's the garage doors were always open and the only car in the driveway was one car (the white equinox). perhaps they only had one car and both parents commuted/took shifts that could coordinate? hence the reason JC took the bus? riverside middle is less than a mile from her house. in my town, you have to live 2+ miles from the school to qualify for free bussing...no idea how it works in the midwest, i'm in a suburb of a major city...

Her clock was about 7 minutes fast. She adjusted it according to what the real time was. 12:31. She has always been consistent, imo.
I understand. My point was in this particular linked interview she misspoke and said 2:38 not 12:38. I believe she's wrung out from media asking to speak to her. But it does now make me wonder if she made a mistake originally.

I doubt it but still, people sometimes get confused. JMO.

ETA: To clarify I don't believe she meant they heard shots at 2:38 nor do I believe that time is possible.

Argh! The woman first said they had gone to bed around a quarter after 12. Then she said they heard the shots at 2:38, adjusted to 2:31. Obviously she misspoke since that timing couldn't work and I'm marking it up to nervousness. But now it does make me wonder if her original statement of 12:38/01 is possibly off. Maybe it's time for her to stop agreeing to interviews - I get the feeling she's traumatized by the incident. Poor woman.

BBM

She sure says 2 but she must have meant 12?????

The family was described as both "reclusive" as well as "active in their community" though I guess both terms are relative/dependent on each different person's idea of what active or reclusive are.

She clearly says 2:38 was the time when she rolled over and checked her clock, I'm guessing she just made a mistake through stress etc
In all reports I have seen, I have never heard that. It's been stated the same in every news article, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Jmo

Well I hate to admit it. But it is 7:47 PM CST and the sun has gone down now today. The worst part is we do not have any great news for this case, like we all were hoping for this morning and all day. My fingers are still crossed.

She does sound nervous /anxious talking in this interview. i agree. Like almost tearful or am I imaging that part? :(
Yeah, I got the same feeling from her words. I'm sure this has been very upsetting to her. I can't imagine being in her shoes, knowing that neighbors were being murdered. Ugh.

Seems like they are active in the community but private and quiet within their home.

I think she is beating herself up for not calling the gunshots in, that it might have made a difference, and that it will weigh on her for a long time.

Stumbled across, this..

I guess that confirms the reason for the search area.

Exactly - she made a mistake. That interview should be scrapped IMO.

Yes, I think it was someone at the dance studio that said the Mom was always friendly, making small talk and joking around, or something like that. Jmo

Thanks for that transcript!

I found out that the neighbor was interviewed today (10/18) on the situation by WTMJ, which is newer than the Banfield interview in case additional details clarifying etc. :

The Jayme Closs story: What neighbors heard

In this newer phone interview, the neighbor said she looked at the clock and it said 2:38 (she said her clock is off 7 minutes, so it was actually 2:31).

Am I hearing this correctly? I thought the shots were fired much earlier? I listened twice and heard the same time.

That was NOT the point of my post. I was explaining how a storm door can be kept open without holding it open.
Also, none of us know at all what a DOOR is going to prove in this case long term. We speculate, but we do not KNOW.

It wasn't my intention to offend you. I was simply commenting on why I personally find the door relevant. I totally understood the point you were making.

SMREKAR: They were very quiet people. We only saw them come and go from their home. We took mail up to them that got delivered to us, and they didn`t even want to come to the door. They were just quiet, preferred I guess to be alone. You didn`t see them out in the yard doing anything. At least we didn`t.

BANFIELD: Did you ever see Jaime with any friends? Or did she ever come and go and get picked up by friends in vehicles of any kind?

SMREKAR: That I can`t tell you, I just know that the school bus dropped her off?

BANFIELD: And you would see her dropped off daily in front of the house by the school bus?

SMREKAR: Yes.

BANFIELD: But other than that, you didn`t see collections of friends coming and going from that house?

SMREKAR: No. We didn`t even know they had any children. They just weren`t out there doing things.

thoughts???

When I worked in a manufacturing plant, I sometimes had to swing shifts. I don’t know if Jennie-O has their employees do swings, but when I did, I was “reclusive” by most accounts. I was always exhausted.

Manufacturing work, regardless of the type (food processing included) can be laborious, and it’s really hard on the circadian rhythm if ones shifts are not “9-5”. MOO.

You heard right but the lady misspoke. She was probably upset and nervous. The interview should be either corrected or removed IMO.
